    🔔 ABOUT BILL
Bill grew up in the horse industry and started out wrangling on movie sets and commercials at the age of fourteen alongside his father, Denzel Cameron. That was 50 years ago and today Bill is traveling the globe sharing his horsemanship knowledge, teaching horses, and coaching students. If you ask Bill how he feels about where he is today, his answer "I feel very blessed to have lived the life that I am living today. My knowledge has taken me all over the world and I love working with horses and their owners".

If you're gonna be on your horses face like this. Don't ride in a leverage bit.

The horse is following the bit ...

To explain my previous reply "The most important test is if the horse will follow the contact forward, and down, if the reins are softened by the rider. If the horse follows, it is so to speak the horse that chooses to touch the rider with its mouth. If this quality of contact is established, the horse is really working on the bit, even if its head is a little in front of or behind the vertical." from an article about being on the bit.

Thank you for you input. Champ is a great horse and his rider is very soft handed. She leased Champ and had a very short time with him. His owner was so happy with the rider. During the heat of competition (especially during a race) oftentimes the rider gets in their mouth or the horse pulls on their hands when rating down. This is hard to avoid in a situation such as this. Overall the rider did a fine job and Champ loves her.

@@maryknueven1065 You don't ride like that in a leverage bit. The horse should hold itself in a collected frame on the aids. You shouldn't even need the bit once you get to the stage of using a leverage bit, anything else is piss poor training and terrible hands. The comment that this horse is leased and not even trained by the girl riding it furthers my point that she can't train. A nice horse, awful rider.

Cowboy racing is just for people who can't train for actual western events. She's using two hands on a shank, disgusting, that would be an instant disqualifier. I've entered the odd cowboy race in my country and the competition is always an absolute joke compared to trail or reining. Take the bridle off and you'll have the truth, no control, an absolute joke of training.
