    Not to mention during his turns- I'm pretty sure I saw that horse hit its head on the fence a couple times. I would be more impressed if they weren't blinded by the fact this was a contest and paid some mind to the horse. Beautiful horses, awesome maneuvers, and exciting speed- but I didn't see much horsemanship. They kept looking over at each other like at 1:52. :P

    I know absolutely nothing about western riding, but the way that the dun (stallion?) stops from that speed is both beautiful and incredibly impressive!

    ever heard of leg aids?? They were all about the reins and didnt use their legs at all. then when the guy in the blue just dropped down on the horses back... just that killed me.

    what a lovely sweet tempered buckskin...aww so sad he had to be jerked around so hard ...he did his best for the rider the whole time what a super nice gelding!

      He has a name, ya know, its Bill Cameron, and Bill loved that stallion with ALL his heart, he had a nickname for that stud, Bucky, and after Bucky DIED OFA HEART ATTACK while breeding to a mare. Bucky died in Bills arms!!! When the mare had his foal, Bill nicknamed HIM Baby Bucky! So, you meant that Bill did not love Bucky, he did, he still does.

    Are you kidding me? I thought these guys were supposed to be good. All I see is reins reins reins. Don't get me wrong here, I'm a western rider myself, but I am not impressed by this at all.

    Crappy sloppy bouncy riding! Not impressed at all. Horses looked in pain most of the time. Hard landings on front end. Hand jerking reins for stops. Just because its a speed event does not make it OK to jerk horses to a stop or yank around to turn. Sorry.

    I do not see why yall are complaining so much. These men have not just thrown their horses into this competition. They have trained for years on end as a man and horse team. I did see both leg and reign aids. True they are breathing hard but have you seen horses after an intense cattle competition? What about a steeple chase? These horses bodies have been conditioned for this and I am sure they had a cool down afterwards.

    It looks like the buckskin is limbing a little on the left hindleg in the end, also it breathes very hard. I know they just had a race but the horse shouldn't breathe that hard :(

    How is being swayback "bad for their health"? I have a swayback horse. The only problem I have had with that is finding a pad that works to fill in the gap. He is sound as could be. Just because a horse has swayback doesn't mean it is in pain, but it depends on the horse and its condition. As long as the horse has a well-fitting saddle and appropriate padding they can be ridden sway backed with no problem!

    did you know that if you work your horse extremely hard and you remove the saddle without a cool down your horses heart can rupture!! iv seen it all to often at the local events....plus i saw 0 % praise for the horses, its the horses that do all the work! give them some well earned credit!

      The horses walk, trot, canter, gallop, jump etc, but it’s the rider that can make the horse do all that

    yeah its not the greatest thing , but those horses go back to a nice clean stall with clean water and lots of hay and a nice bath and groom and all bandaged up. so i think it makes up for the scremaing and pulling and plopping

    • @jlgeensley814
      @jlgeensley814 5 років тому

      you don't know if they ride or not, just because they do not share your way of doing things does not mean they do not ride. I grew up riding, always bareback, but I was light and even then did not fall down on the horse's back. Horses backs are not made of steal, you see that poor horse's back give when that over weight guy came down on his poor back. part of the a riders responsibility is to be knowledgeable about the horse, and also to be a fit rider, at least be fit if you are going to expect your horse to compete.

    Shame and dubble-shame to treat horses like this. This is a way to make a presentation of whom you are. Om not intrested and this is NOT sport!!! I know that Bill makes clinics in Sweden In talk with himmelsbodavägen and Will be there when he show up text time. Also I Will Tell People not to take part of his training. Sade to see:-!
