Thanks for this video. I picked up a GWM ute from Brian Hilton Wyong and NOTHING was explained. I mean quite literally the rep did not explain a single thing. It was the most dissapointing experience. I watched this video just to learn how to use the car. You have restored my faith in dealers that actually care. BTW they gave me the predilivery check list to sign, it was a blank document so I signed it mickey mouse and took a photo so I can prove it to the CEO of Brian Hilton that their company processes are broken.
Little tip. If you wanna move the car quickly and get sick of it always telling you put your seat belt on, just press the handbreak button down and you are now free to move the car without a seat belt.
I own a Cannon X with 30000kms. I have always been a supporter of the brand until now. I went to the dealer Autostrada in Western Australia, for a service and had them look at a minor warranty issue for a delaminating park brake button, along with recalling for the headrests to be replaced. This work was booked in over a month prior to the service date. It’s been over a year and when going to book my 30000kms service I enquired again as the the park brake and it turn out that even though the dealer told me it was warranty and would be replaced they had not even ordered the part and not submitted a warranty claim to GWM/HAVAL. Not only this they did not replace the recall item on the headrests. When I approached GWM/HAVAL HQ I was told it’s my problem and they have nothing to do with it. So basically, your on your own. Ok so you might think this is a dealer/service department issue but can you imagine if this was a larger warranty issue and this was the support you expect to receive. I was going to look at a new vehicle next year and I can be sure GWM/HAVAL are off the list. Warranty support is critical to me and this seals the deal. Thanks for no support GWM/HAVAL, if warranty is important to you seriously consider other brands, as GWM/HAVAL do not provide customer support.
....some dealers are better than others, but your experience is unacceptable. I have heard similar stories with Ssangyong dealers, '...go to this one army local sucked'. I really think highly of Mitsubishi but was very hesitant because the then local Toyota-Mitsubishi-Holden dealer here in southern N.T. lied to me and lied to my mother. Thankfully, Mitsubishi is now handled by the local KIA-VW dealer nowadays and they have been very good with my Optima. Some dealers need the living daylights kicked out of them, as in fined or banned from trading, because of their negligence. I'm considering a Musso but through a dealer that us a well established name in Adelaide but the Cannon is also in the running.
Was tempted but the Lux seemed to be the better value truck since the extras didn't really appeal to me. + 7" Colour Instrument Cluster - prefer having the mechanical dials. + Wireless Phone Charging - cool but you need to be plugged in if you want to use Android Auto/Carplay and I like windscreen mounting my phone to the side. + 2x Smart Keys - second smart key could be useful, but you at least get a second non-smart key with the L too. + Power Assist Steering Modes (Comfort, Normal, Sport) - I'm happy with the default setting. + Adjustable Steering Column (tilt\slide) - I just keep mine standard. + Door Open Warning - L has this feature, unless there's something more to it. + Black Luxury Interior - The 2022 L has vegan leather on the seats and steering wheel. Feels very nice to me. + Second row 60:40 split seats - Might be useful, but figured it's better to invest in a roll top and use the tub. Rear row armrest - Won't use. Do you have an X?
@@headsoftech great response mate, I have one on delivery as we speak, I tossed up the extra 3k and went for the X, I gather in the long run it may retain a touch more resale especially that I've leased it
Noooooooo ! You will have to rename your channel "Heads of Fossil" !!!! ;-) Kidding, hope you guys will have fun with this truck. Just ordered a brand new Model Y by the way (Long Range), replacing the old "fossil" Bimmer ... I'm surprised you didn't go for an electric, so much quieter and futuristic ;-) Anyway, hope you guys are well ! And warm greetings from Switzerland. Cheers to you both !
Thanks mate, I've got a Model Y on reservation too, but mate if you're captain eco friendly you gotta switch to the LFP batteries for ultimate clout. Also have a Cybertruck on reservation, but you know, it'll probably be another 5 years until it comes, so in the meantime, this one seems to be great. Plus over here in Australia we get a lot of our electricity from coal, so a small 2.0l engine and with the DPF cleaning out 99% of the pollutants should be good in the interim.
@@headsoftech Well I'm currently driving a 650i Bimmer, that's a bi-turbo V8, and let's say my usage is just for around town so ... completely overkill. Wifey just doesn't want to drive it 'cause it's too big (6 series is same size as an M5 for instance, but only coupé), which I can understand. Now switching to electric makes sense because we're mostly driving short trips and we get quite a discount on both insurance (50%) and annual plates tax (75% discount)(even though finance is far from being a reason in this case - I just love Tesla's gadgets and being able to have it running with A/C while waiting on a parking space ;-) Also, second-hand car market is just crazy here, so even Tesla gave me a good price on my BMW, which also added a good reason for a change. The BMW is an older car (2014), and so with the Model Y we'll have a brand new car which will cost us half of the Bimmer's running fees so .. quite a no brainer. Also, I like driving SUV stype, sitting (much) higher, but if you buy a Porsche Cayenne or Macan over here, people get angry and would flatten your tires or even worse, scratch your paint ... yeah yeah, there are AH everywhere and Switzerland is no exception ;-) Cheers !
Ah mate, so happy for you and your reasoning sounds solid. I was trying to push for a Porsche for my wife, but she just didn't like them. A lot of real estate agents and want-to-be people drive them over here, so you get type cast. That being said, Tesla drivers have a bad rep over here too, they do silly things like unplug or plug each others chargers, so you either don't get charge, or get a bill for charging when you don't need a charge. How does the Tesla trade in work over there btw, do you still get to drive it while you wait for your order to arrive, or do they give you a milage limit before it needs a re-valuation?
@@headsoftech The Model Y arrives within the next 2 to 4 weeks (it's on the boat at the moment ;-) - from Shanghai I think, for only Performance models are being produced in Germany at the moment (I think). In the meantime I can drive the Bimmer, up to 4'000 kilometers until delivery. Their offer is final, so if I don't get more mileage than that, I don't have to pay a cent more on delivery. If you do more they do a re-evaluation yes. But 100% sure I won't, I must be doing like 5-6K kilometers per year at the moment ;-) Never heard of people exchanging or plugging/unplugging behind other people's back over here ... But you've visited once (Crans Montana power !), we're a rather dull and calm people ;-) I won't have a plug at home so I'll have to rely on the only Supercharger in the vicinity at first. I think there can't be such problem at Superchargers, since I'll be sitting waiting in my car each time ... I should be fine going there twice a month according to my current usage, so that's OK. There are some places where I'll be able to charge at 11/22 kW (hotels for instance) - but we don't have a lot here in the French-speaking part of Switzerland unfortunately.
I've been driving a Mustang for the last 10 years, the bonnet on those are HUGEEEEE, makes parking a nightmare. But yeah, this one's actually alright, but when you first ride it, having a camera is soooo useful.
@@headsoftech come on , parking sensors are for girls that can't drive. I've got a Chrysler 300 , big bonnet too ,I can park that anywhere and it's the same length / width as a range rover. 😁

I don't care what the nay sayers say, it's just a beautiful car for this money, absolutely great value.
Picking mine next week in brown. 🎉

He's not wrong. The seats are the best part about them
Have you interior protected yours? I've never done it before but I'm going to try out Bowdens Vinyl care for this beast.
The salesperson had no idea, its not a fuse puller hahahahaha it's to remove the plastic covers from the wheel nuts. Well done buddy

Me too, bro. I am totally sold now. This video has been really helpful to us potential buyers.
This was Hella exciting. Looking to get this bakkie. In Zim it's called the P series. Thanks for this introduction.

That button behind the park brake isn’t “auto stop/start” it’s “auto hold”
Thanks, I love that feature.

Servicing is every 10000 km isn’t it not 15000km
Yep, 5,000km is the first one ($260), then every 10,000km at a fixed cap of $360 for next 4.
