    With regards experience of vehicles in V3...
    Had a tournament the other weekend, first game was against a British Cavalry Squadron (infantry in Bren, Daimler and AEC Armoured cars.)..... his 12 vs my 22 dices...... my mortars and anti-tank rifles pinned him out... I won 12:2 (came 4th overall, out of 16 & Most Sporting award!)

    Interesting to see the double artillery observers in action!
    If the ramming tank passes it's order test (at -3 remember!), it moves into contact with the enemy vehicle.... it must be moving at 'ramming speed' - it is intending to drive through/over the enemy, hence the minimum speed (9" in most cases) - so it can't do so if the move would take it off the table (unless moving off table edge is an objectine). Roll the dice and follow the procedure..... highest wins, loser takes damage, both take a pin.
    With regards the recce/escape, yeah, the tank needs to be more than 6" away as the crow flies for the recce vehicle to perform an escape move, regardless of how far it actually travelled to get round interveining buildings etc.... it does state starting point, not distance travelled....
    I would say that if the target was a soft skin, the tank continues to move; but as the rules stand, both vehicles are stationary and now 'Down'.
    As for the commander, he would have jumped out before contact, as per the assaulting transport rules, but he can't attack a vehicle moving so fast, .... but doesn't get a pin..... so can then score.

      @@VioletMoonMedia Fascinating, so ramming a transport, the squad inside hop out to defend, they cant hit anything, if they pass they dodge out of the way and the vehicle continues forward until it contacts the transport, if they fail they are wiped as usual. It all makes sense to me! Really appreciate you taking the time to type it all out in detail mate, thanks as always :)

    I believe for the Tank assault you need to start just over 9 away. But yay rule of cool.

    I love your videos :D they are always interesting and well done. I just watched this video and I can't wait for the next one. and a question: can you use snap to on another officer so that he can also snap it? p.s. I don't hate artillery observers (I play German)

    • @ArchaiKM
      @ArchaiKM 8 днів тому +1

      No, the rules do state that you can't chain snap with Company Command to Platoon officers (and I don't think Platoon Officers can snap other Platoon officers)

      Thanks mate, appreciate your support every week mate. And thank you @ArchaiKM for your response! To clarify; company commanders can snap to a platoon commander, but they cannot issue a further snap to, they can just do a run etc. Platoon commanders cannot order platoon commanders in any way. Hope this helps :)

    Im really starting to like the recce platoon. Great way to push up your gurkhas. I would however put your forward observers in brens as they can call in strike from a vehicle in v3 rules!!!

    My read of the rule for tank assault is the same as yours.
    It has to go at least 9 inches.
    But of course, I have the utmost respect for Rule of Cool.

      @@TheKenthor Thanks man! Yeah I think it's looking that way, still cool that you can pivot and not just have to charge forward though, tank shocks are something to keep in mind now! If you can finish with a heroic charge, it's hard to say no haha

    Where do you think the line is on forward observers? Would building a Brit list with four be completely uncalled for?

    • @scholaprogenium7276
      @scholaprogenium7276  7 днів тому +1

      Thanks! Haha yeah 4 would probably be more than you need, then you are missing out on other useful things! 3 would be quite grim to face, however I felt I was short on units (no mortars etc) with two FOs and a company commander, which is roughly equivalent in points.

    • @jpstevens6407

      If it had ended turn 6 the Italians win, you just have to keep your eye on the prize, it’s a dice game it’s never over, one good 6 or bad roll can change the game, it was brutal being on the receiving end of that artillery I felt like flipping the board at one point 😅

    • @scholaprogenium7276
      @scholaprogenium7276  7 днів тому

      One other reason we never surrender is because there is a lot to learn when you are in that position, how can you apply the resources you have left to the situation etc. Some factions are particularly good at wriggling out of a tight spot, running Finns has taught us both a lot about snatching victory from the jaws of defeat! Redirecting forces, planning for later turns and setting up plays are all skills that can be really honed when you are on the back foot! Sorry for the lengthy response, it's a topic for a video really! Thanks for the idea 😊
