- American television sitcom In The House ran on NBC for its first two seasons from April 10, 1995 to May 13, 1996. The show then moved to UPN where it aired for another two seasons from August 26, 1996 to April 7, 1998. The series then ran in first-run syndication for a fifth and final season, from August 3, 1999 to August 11, 1999. The 90s was the best era in tv history. Rappers and Singers got to show their acting skills.
The 90s is the best decade of all time.
Best time for black tv.
Yep. LL, Latifah, Will Smith, Whitney Houston, Brandy.....
As accredited actors starved and ate ramen 🍜. 😢😢
U Dam right
I liked when they added Kim Wayans to the cast. You don’t see a lot of men and women platonic relationships and I thought Kim and LL had dope chemistry. Not to mention Kim Wayans is hilarious!
She definitely helped the show.
Debbie Allen is truly an OG in this business. shes done it all. Maia was so beautiful. love how they had Kim Wayans on the show too ❤
The episode where LL starred in a dual role as himself and Marion was awesome
Talking bout “they say me and you look alike”
“Ion see it” 😂😂😂
@@KingBrahma-xw6mt They did this in alot of shows and usually said similar lines to that lol Brandy & Moesha,Roger & Marques Houston
Respect to LL and Alphonso for getting back on good terms and handling issues like men are supposed to. As always, Juicy Pop never lets us down.
💃🏽🥳👏🏾
@@JuicyPopEntertainment5:01 💃💃💃💃💃🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳👏👏👏👏👏👏bang.
Yea, this is Emmy award-winning stuff right here.
Debbie Allen... If u look up black girl magic... Her Pic is there... She is everything.. Has done everything... And needs to be talked about more... Give her flowers 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
The 90's/early 00's really had some great black shows. I forgot all about this show but I loved it as a child.
Omg yesss! You’re finally covering In the House! I really liked the 1st season of the show. Debbie Allen, LL Cool J, Maia Campbell, and the rest of the cast had great chemistry in my opinion. Fun fact: the little voice you hear in the opening credits of both season one and two was LL Cool J’s son.
I never knew that. I thought it was the boy who played Debbie Allen son on the show voice.
@@thetruesoulofanaquarius9302 Omg me too! 😅
@@Tha90sKid😂
Awwww lol I love that
Oh wow!!! 😮
I actually like the latter seasons better than the earlier ones bc I feel it fit LL's character more.
Me too
Same, the earlier episodes with Debbie Allen, John Amos, and the little kids weren’t for me. Love Debbie Allen and John Amos though!
@Fueunachimba Agree John Amos is top 5 black TV dad
Me too
@@derekpowell9615 most definitely!!!
The first two seasons of In the House were the best. I think because I was still a kid I couldn't relate to it anymore when it got moved to UPN. Maia Campbell was so beautiful I hope she is doing better. ❤ also In the House is on Tubi.
1995 was definitely an amazing year for LL Cool J, In the House premiered on NBC, the movie Out of Sync came out in theaters, LL also appeared in the video for Fat Joe's song Success and LL dropped his 6th album Mr. Smith.
LL was at his peak
You forgot to add that Lark Voorhees who played Lisa Turtle on Saved By The Bell joined the series as a love interest to Alphonso's character.
She also played his "baby's momma" on an episode of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Mercedes
And Kenya Moore came as well.
And the Puerto-Rican actor from Power.
LL had a hell of a year in 95!
Also, since he already appeared as Carlton and Max was a Carlton type character, they might as well had made his character Carlton. They even had him get married to a character played by Lark Voorhees.
I used to love this show growing up❤
In the house was definitely slept on bc they were facing other juggernauts shows during that 90s era. But my point being, that show was still my ishh .
I looooooove In The House so much. It doesn’t get the credit it deserves!!! It was so funny, had amazing guest stars, and really interesting plots. Personally my favorite episodes are the ones with just Tonia, Max, Marion and Tiffany. Those were the best ones. But I still watch it on Tubi, that’s the only reason I even have Tubi tbh
No diggity, no doubt baby! 🤸🏻♀️
We're in the house no doubt baby, no doubt ugh.
Love the nineties and I’ll never let this era go… It’s way too many classic memories from those years…
I never could get into the show,
but some episodes gave me a chuckle.
I hope Maia Campbell is doing well.🙏🏾
Same. But I can see why people did like it. Just wasn’t for me. Now Maia , I always had a crush on , even when I was super young. Her beauty always drew me in. Same with reagon Gomez
Unpopular opinion but I love the first season with Debbie Allen and “Austin” more than the latter. That was such an odd and new premise for a Black show.
I love the first two seasons. When Jackie’s ex husband Milton would come around, his back and forth with her was hilarious!!!!!
I felt that the show had a natural run it was equally good
Not great but good sitcom of the 90s
The seasons with Debbie were better in my opinion but still it's a good show.
I’m glad we get to see the show on my antenna now. In The House is a classic sitcom. We hope Maia Campbell is doing well, so we don’t know her situation at the moment. Kim Wayans and Alfonzo Riberio join the show later on during the last few seasons.
Thank you for this story. Can we please stories on the reminding underrated 90s sitcoms:
The Parenthood
The Wayans Bros
Malcolm & Eddie
A handsome yet intimidating ex football player named “Marion” …I wonder if this was a rib on Suge Knight. LL’s acting was great but I absolutely can see him being a nightmare to work with. He gives Diva vibes.
thats an interesting point about Suge. never thought about that.
I can see LL being an asshole to work with too.
I think it's mostly because LL takes himself a bit too seriously
@@Slick5150 That's not why. He is just arrogant as hell
Never knew LL was an *******🤔
Now, it makes sense why the final season seemed so disjointed as far as with LL and Alfonso's scenes. I also wonder why Kim didn't return for season 5 and why Maia left after two episodes. I love your videos! Please keep them coming!
Season 5 was a hot mess🤦🏾♀️ they were just pulling stories out of their butts for that season fr
@@Fueunachimbait flip flop alot
Men in the Black is one of my favorite episodes of In the House and not to mention that Derek Fisher, Kobe Bryant and Gina Ravera AKA Cousin Faith from Soul Food was also in that episode too
Thank for doing this. Speaking of Maia Campbell, please do "South Central". ❤
Stay tuned!
@@JuicyPopEntertainment4:39 yes.
Love that show.
Crazy to hear alfonso say he didnt want to film scenes with LL because i remember the last season marion & max were never in scenes together. I believe only the first & last episode of the final season were they in the same scene. LL is this real positive dude so to hear him be so problematic is funny. But then again, this was over 2 decades so maybe this caused him to change
LL got into a fight with Jamie Foxx on the set of Any given Sunday. LL was cracking jokes on everyone and started going in on Jamie. Jamie in response started roasting him and had everyone laughing. LL got upset and pretty much started a fight.
@@solomongrundy1467
Yeooo i heard the story. Jamie foxx told the story during stand up but Bill bellamy tell it the best. You can youtube it " bill bellamy tells ll & jamie foxx fight". 🤣🤣🤣
@7:40 his behavior toward rupaul isnt surprising. jamie foxx spoke about he got into a fight with LL for taking his role too seriously for any given sunday.
LL got heat. He's got a ego issue
LL got mad at Canibus for no good reason on a collaboration. He gave LL praise and compliments and LL took it the wrong way and dissed him. No one else involved thought Canibus did anything wrong except LL.
So we not gon mention Lark Voorhies?!
Or Kenya Moore.
No diggity, no doubt baby, no diggity no doubt, "We in the house"
I can’t blame LL his music was his main thing.
Love the channel ❤️
Didn't care for the show
I always thought Maia Campbell was beautiful.
I hope she's well.
Sending love From NYC!
Debbie Allen makes anything she’s attached to better. I wonder what the show would’ve been had she transitioned to Director once her character was off.
Thank goodness In the House is also on Tubi
It is also on the channel "Aspire" if you have Spectrum😎
Yes! I’ve been watching it on that specific platform for months. #90’s
Thank you but the question I always had was why did the network get rid of Debbie and Austin. I liked them
Jeffrey Wood did a live recently and stated that Debbie Allen did not agree with the story line for season 3 and for this reason left the show. With her not being on the show, there was no place for his character being that he was so young so he was written off the show as well.
Mane it was some good shows back in the day
This my show right here underrated as hell too glad to get this!
Very underrated it never get the praise or glory that it deserves thank you Juicy Pop for covering the show.

This made me sad LL was so difficult to work with. Still a classic
is ‘city guys’ next?🙏
I’m waiting for City Guys too!!
It's coming. It's been difficult to put a video together because there is so little info out there about it.
@@JuicyPopEntertainment I appreciate you responding and I understand 🙏if it helps, wesley jonathan who played jamal, did a podcast episode of ‘pod meets world’ a few months ago. he spoke quite a bit about ‘city guys’. it was more than I’ve ever heard.. I find that it’s so underrated among the 90s teen shows. it was definitely my favourites though💜I’ll keep looking for information as well👍🏽
@@JuicyPopEntertainment3:29 me too.
@@JuicyPopEntertainment I've watched a lot of your videos but I subscribed because of this comment because I don't want to miss it when it comes out lol. City Guys was my jam.
Hearing LL wasn't the greatest to get along with behind the scenes goes hand and hand with him and Jamie Foxx clashing during the production of Any Given Sunday.
Throwback Wendy, what a wonderful surprise. I remember this interview. I miss her on radio. ❤️🩹
The ru episode was my favorite episode
That’s crazy, I’m actually watching the whole series right now, I’m on Season 4 and this is a really good black 90’s sitcom 👌🏿
The 90s curse of Season 5 was allover this one.
This is the one I’ve been patiently waiting for. Thank you.
Jeffrey Wood also appeared on New York Undercover and on the Parent'Hood as Nicholas' friend Hakeem
Amazon Prime has all the season series of New York Undercover,I'm on season 3 now, what a nostalgic ride it is. Started watching the Parent'Hood several years ago on youtube.
Great story I was wondering about that show... bless maia Campbell and her struggles 😢🙏🏾
Memories 📺 💯❤️🔥
I seem to remember Lark Voorhees being on in the house, playing a character named Mercedes. There was no mention of this in the video, though. Am i crazy or does anyone else remember this???
Yes, she was definitely there along with Kenya Moore.
Great story on In the House
I love this show!
LL, at that time, became a mainstream darling, the big buff safe black man- he was in a lot of movies, guest starred in many series.. still making hits with music, his celebrity allowed him to dodge a loss in a rap battle vs Canibus.. add the fact he was a star since he was a teenager in hip hop- I can only imagine how inflated his ego was, looked down at everyone else… until those rumors started coming out, he kinda faded into the background..that’s when The Rock started becoming a star in wrestling.. then you had Debo, and Chris Tucker.. the entire black comedy wave flooding the scene., younger rappers.. Will Smith becoming an actual talent on the acting scene.. LL faded completely away
I enjoyed In the House. Great cast. Great show. Disheartening to realize LL Cool J and Alfonso Ribeiro were not on the best of terms. Hopefully, it's all good now. LL is STILL aging gracefully, but no disrespect to his wife, but a late friend and I thought James Todd Smith was sexy ASF back in the 90s. 🥰
Thanks for all the recaps ❤
Binged this week all these style videos and needed a new one. Thank you and bless
I never watched the show. I admired Winfred’s work though on Golden Girls, Laverne and Shirley and Fresh Prince.
Man, i totally forgot about this show!
Another great video! 💚🥰
I loved watching this show growing up. I think the third season revamp is when it was at its best. kim wayans was the real star for me. it fell off in the last season when she left.
Great show. I’m sorry that the community didn’t try n help that lady that was dealing with bipolar. Two beautiful women of color on that show.
I loved that show
Debbie Allen fine af
Season 3/4 had the best intro songs.
Good morning. Thank you Juicy Pop
In the house is on Tubi too 🎉
Juicy Pop You know I love your channel. In The House kinda of reminded me of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in a way. LL Cool J had the lead role, just like Will Smith, Alfonzo Riberio and Lark Voorhees was on both shows just like James Avery (R.I.P.), Daphne Maxwell Reid, Joseph Marcell, and John Amos, both filmed out in California LL from Queens, NY and Will from Philadelphia, PA. Maia Campbell was so fine and pretty. It's a shame what drugs do to a person. I hope she gets help 🙏
Could you imagine if they were a crossover episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,In The House, and the Patti LaBelle sitcom called Out All Night. If they had crossover episodes that would be pretty dope. All three of them our legends in their own rights and their shows are L.A. based sitcoms.
Glad someone is covering the u had to be from that era show
There was a confusing episode in this when Ashley banks from fresh Prince of bell air actually guest starred on the show as Carltons sister but Alfonso wasn't Carlton on the show. I never understood that.
"Acting very N-word like" 😮 LMAO 🤣
The hell was that supposed to mean💀💀
As if RuPaul ain’t one himself but in a flamboyant way. 😂😂😂
I just watch this show a couple of days ago.💯
Yeah, like I said on the Eve video, rappers always got their own show so idk why she got dragged… I rewatched this recently & didn’t remember the earlier seasons from my childhood. It was obvious that they went a different direction after the 2nd season. After rewatching it, I like how he was a positive guy and very spiritual, the other shows weren’t like that! He turned a bad experience into something positive AND he learned to make it elsewhere once his dreams were shattered. Another thing I noticed, which wasn’t addressed here is that this MUST’VE been a spin off of Fresh Prince, initially. Because Alfonso appeared as Carlton first, even Ashley was on there. I can see that they tried to make that connection but probably just dropped it. The set looks exactly like Fresh Prince too, even the ugly first seasons mirror each other 😂 I was even thinking that Tiffany reminded me of Ashley, then Ashley appeared on an episode lol.
Another goody❤️
JP I’m loving what you’re doing and know that you’re appreciated ⁉️
🥰
@@JuicyPopEntertainment2:58 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰love ❤️😘 it.
Great show. I've met LL Cool J Debbie Allen & Alfonso(my namesake) Ribiero all at my job
I have a video online when Maia Cambell ran up on me offering me “favors” on central dr in Atlanta Ga. I didn’t get it. I gave her money to get a hotel room for a couple of nights. B4 it was over she was on my fb live talking to my followers. I hope she’s ok
I loves this show. Season 1 and when it changed in season 2
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
One of tha best tv shows LL COOL J ever played in. I Loved that show just like I Loved Maclom n Eddie, them shows was some of tha best shows ever made that I Loved & enjoyed as a kid
Great show that I watched again during that pandemic. In the house, hanging w/ Mr. Cooper, Sister Sister, Smart Guy, Waynes Brothers, Steve Harvey Show, Jamie Foxx Show, A different world, Moesha, Family Matters, Living Single, Martin, Fresh Prince.... Amazing TV.
Can you do a video on the show South Central!
Nice story
6:17 I miss in the house 🏠🏡.
6:51 love 😗😘 that sitcom.
I loved this show growing up it was well written and genuinely funny and had a awesome cast.
I didn't like seeing Debbie leave, it had been a minute since she was a regular in front of the camera, but happy for kim as she could pretty much dress as herself apart from several characters on ILC
I hate to hear LL treated Ru so badly
The show can also be seen on Tubi.
I love Rupaul!!!! 😭 that interview clip was everything
right !
It's on Max too
The RuPaul LL Cool J story is funny cause he seemed very comfortable chillin while the trans lady in the Flavor in ya ear video danced around him lol
You told no lies in this comment...🤭😗☕☕☕!!!! Man I really shocked when I had listened to his lyrics in the remix oop.
LL got some skeletons 😂 8:11
LLs 1st on screen appearance was in Krush Groove!!
He called the woman “Debbie “ but called the man “Mr jones”
I peeped that too. Seems to me he has more respect for men than women.
I loved in the house both versions with Debbie & Austin the son and without.Tonya crazy ass terrified little kid me. Wish I could get the series on DVD.
Speaking of Debbie Allen, you should do a segment on Fame(either the film or the TV show, or both).
Fresh Prince Lite
I wonder why Kim Wayans just abruptly left in Season 4,based on Ru’s and Alfonso’s sentiments…I have an idea. LL is a gorgeous man but I bet insufferable to work with
I really enjoyed this show and still watch reruns just wished that it lasted to the magic 100. They could have added Tonya and Max and still kept Jackie to make it the more adult show it was in seasons 3-5 by giving Jackie a man and stories outside her kids and it would have been cool if Austin had a friend in Rodney.
Wowww forgot all about this show😮
LL wasn’t with the 5:30 😂😂
Nice split😅😅
