    thank you for saving me a plumbers bill! after watching two other videos with no success, you were the only one who even mentioned the seat and the spring. that was my entire problem. keep up the great work and thanks again!

    Thank you! Since my sink was newer, i was able to use the same parts without a problem. If they do fail, I now know how to replace it on my own with ease.

    Thanks for posting this. My 10 year old sinks were leaking from the cold water side and I managed to get down to white plastic insert, but for the life of me I couldn't pull them out. Your video confirmed for me that I just needed to tug a little harder. Got em out, replaced them, no more drip...drip...drip...drip. Thanks!

    Thank you. The spring was the problem. I could see it was worn. I wasn't able to find the right replacement, but it bought me some time. And I know what I am looking for. Thank you greatly!

    Good video. I fixed my faucet after watching. The nut was somewhat hard to loosen so I sprayed WD40 and was easy while loosening. It finally came loose. Your advice to grip the nut at the top on the shoulder is what did it for me. If you grip at the bottom it won't loosen up. Thanks.

    Thank you for this! I was able to fix my kitchen faucet by myself with this guide. Total cost $20 instead of paying a plumber and I'll probably save that amount on the water bill now that there isn't a constant drip!

    I may have missed the part about turning the water OFF first but you should have reminded people a few times to make sure they turned off the water. If I missed it, sorry.

      No, he didn't mention that in this video.

    my both faucets, hot & cold, comes out of 1 handle in the kitchen sink dont have any water but the dishwasher attached with the pipes works fine...other places also water is running & flow is fine..cleaned up the debris from the faucet but still no help...do you know what is going on??

    Thank you! I was trying to twist out the cartridge, but you showed me to pull it out. As it turns out, my tub cartridges and spout are not clogged after all, so I still do not know why my tub water pressure has dropped to a near trickle while pressure is still good in other parts of the house. I've drained and cleaned out my six-year-old water heater, which had very little sediment.The tub faucet is supplied by fifty year old iron pipe risers to tub from newer CPVC in the crawl space. Any ideas?

    Does the Moen cartridge 1224 have the cup & spring? The Moen instructions for the 1224 don't speak to this. Maybe that's why I have a constantly dripping faucet within a week or two of replacing the 1224 cartridge. Also, the removal tool that Moen says comes with every 1224 is never included.

    Thank you for making this helpful video. After I installed new stems and seats on my double handle faucet, it's still leading at the spout. What did I do wrong? Were the new stems & seats defective? (3Z-6H/C Stems for Valley). Appreciate all your hard work and advice.

    Wow! Best video on replacing stem in a double handed faucet on You Tube. The only thing I'm not sure about is how do you know which handle the drip is coming from? Should you just go ahead and replace both stems anyway?

    • @michaelhope3866
      @michaelhope3866 5 років тому

      If the water is hot, then I bet it is coming from the hot side. cold water cold faucet. Lukewarm both. Or if you have a shut off under the sink and you turn off the hot water and the leak stops that is the one to fix. and vice versa.

    Great video. Five suggestions. 1. Buy some silicone grease to lube the new rubber parts. 2.Turn off the water before you begin. 3. Place a rag over the drain to catch the small part you WILL drop. 4. Place another rag on the counter top so you don't scratch it up and catch he** from the wife. 5. Keep the springs. The replacements might differ slightly. It's obvious when the water won't turn off.

      small flathead screwdriver getting on the edge insert and twist then a larger flathead screwdriver doing the same. If you can get to an edge. perhaps a knife blade to get it started.
