    Again, Norman, you demystified the entire process by explaining the whys and hows of why the braid is created! Thank you! I have a shawl pattern with this, but was afraid to give it a go, as the written directions were a bit confusing! Now I can tackle it with confidence!

    I didn’t know about this stitch technique. Quite beautiful and you make it look possible even for a fairly new knitter like me. Always so clearly explained and demonstrated. 🧶💕🧶

    A really interesting stitch technique with a lovely result. I will definitely have to give it a try sometime, once I'm more confident knitting with two colors at once.
    Thank you, Norman, for always inspiring me to try new techniques.

    Hi Norman. Great tutorial! I love the Latvian Braid! It’s so decorative and pretty. I’ve never seen it done using dpns, only flat and fixed circulars. Very interesting! I also really like your twist and weave method for joining new yarn. I’m definitely going to give that a try after rewatching your video on the technique. It seems very secure. Thank you for another great tutorial.❤

      @@sondragingery5949 you can slow down any youtube video via the setting button. I DID add a link right in the video, and if you search across my channel, you will be able to find your answers instantly rather than waiting on the odd chance I see your reply and have a time to answer ;-)

    Thank you Norman. I did Latvian Braid last year for a Xmas Stocking Ornament. Oh Boy, was having problems with tangled yarn. Instead of making 2, guess what... I ended with 1 only. Will have to try your method to make the 2nd pair 😅. Wish me luck ❤❤❤

    • @nimbleneedlestwo
      @nimbleneedlestwo  Рік тому

      yeah..it can be quite a problem....but just pull out a very long length of yarn and try push the twist further down. that typically helps.

    Hello Norman! I was just curious, how stretchy is the braid? I think it would look nice as a waistband on a dress if it can stretch. Thank you for this lovely tutorial!

    • @nimbleneedlestwo
      @nimbleneedlestwo  Рік тому +1

      hm..it's about as stretchy as standard stockinette stitch..maybe a little bit less. but will depend on your tension

    I love the colors you chose - Intentional Ukraine support or just a happy coincidence either way they look great and make it very easy to follow the stitches as you do them.

      while I definitely am supportive of the cause, this is a happy coincidence. I picked these colors because there are most likely to work for a wide range of colorblind people.

    Hello! Is it possible to make 2 Latvian braids next to each other? (To make them look like 2 rows of latvian braids)

    I am assuming that after casting on, a Latvian braid can be a border stitch for a pretty dishtowel?

    • @nimbleneedlestwo

      yes, you could do that. I mean, i never tried it but why not?

    This looks brilliant,but I don’t knit the international way but the English way, so until I try it I don’t know if it will work. I hold my yarns in my right hand. I love the way you knit but at 74 I’m not sure I’d be able to change my way of knitting. Thank you.- Marna 10:51

      @@nimbleneedlestwo Thank you Norman. I really appreciate you getting back to me. 🖤 After I messaged you, I started thinking. . . What if, when I go to add the Latvian Braid, I pull the strand from the center and add it to the outside strand just for the braid. . .” 🤔🤔
