I think you and Jim did a great job talking about a touchy subject and made great points. Stuff won’t change until we start talking and sharing thoughts and ideas. Thanks Randy!
I like these tournament recap/fishing day breakdown. That's good stuff man, thanks.
Thanks for not talking about politics and religion. And yes the environment is very important. You are spot on! Thanks
Great content! So happy I found your page which lead me to fish the moment. I’ve been learning so much from you guys.
Randy, sorry we miss you on Smith Lake. Son, fish the kayak tournament during the open on Smith Lake. Use jigs and spinnerbait on wood lay down and got two 12inches and three over seventeen inches. fish drop-shot in deep water and had one get off. Anyway, good luck on your next tournament !!!!
Thank you! Straight to fishing and only! Good job!
Appreciate you being humble and sharing your knowledge, successes and failures (not really failures, it’s a tough sport). Also the fact you have your kids hanging around just being kids. Look forward to your videos every day.
Really appreciate your videos!
Great job talking about the unacceptable payout situation and the environmental issues as well... Like you, I enjoy breathing clean air and drinking clean water.
Keep it up... Thank you!
Randy the 15 ft points worked very well for me I wore some 3lbers on one of my favorite points out Saturday I caught one over 4 all day big bites were tough
Randy, whenever I see the longer shaky head worm set-up, there's a single hook in the jig head, and a long bodied worm with no hook in the rest of it's length - and I always wonder to myself, "Why don't they add a second hook about half-way?" I remember back, in the day, when the first worms came pre-rigged - they had two hooks in them; one in the head, and another further back in the bait. When fish are aggressive, I suspect a second hook isn't necessary. But on rough days when the fish are turned down, that second hook (weedless?) might have brought you the one fish that could have moved you up in the ranks. What is your opinion on this? Does a second hook negatively affect the presentation?
It does affect the action, but Cody Meyer has mentioned using a small stinger hook rigged towards the tail on a shakey head for finicky spotted bass just pecking the tail, so it definitely is a legit rigging option. But it will obviously add weight to the tail of the worm. I think that can be a big downside, part of the presentation of a shakey head is getting that tail to stand up and quiver. If you're using something like a trick worm or something with salt that sinks, it can really cause that worm's tail to drop like a rock and kill the action. It's a little better with a worm that floats.
Or you could ditch the 6” trick worm and go to a 4” finesse worm??
Thank you. Good job no matter the out come.
Thanks, Randy. Im always interested in what leads to missing or losing fish and not getting good hook sets. What issues do you think led to those fish you lost?
Really like the after tournament info. Pulling for you on Grand. 👍
It's tough right now with all the pressure plus we need a good cool down.
That old saying "Hind sights 20/20" ....you learned from this last one and will apply it to the next one ;-)
Thanks for sharing
Don’t get down.Grand lake you know well. You will a good tournament there for sure.Best of luck to you. I had someone tell me once when it tough get a squarebill. & cover water .I think you know him.Enjoy your channel .Good luck
Hey what line do you use for your walking topwater baits like that megabass dog x? Straight mono? Or braid to mono leader? Thanks!
Loved it mr.Randy
Yesterday I went out on my local lake and was throwing lucky strike’s 3” yellow perch jointed swimbait and had a pike hit it as soon as it hit the water! I must have casted right to him cause he hit it literally on topwater! Big blowup and everything 🤘🏻🎣
Great recap, and yes no politics or religion
So you swung for the fence on the last day?
We’re you fishing with a Co-Angler?
Good video's as usual.
Good luck at Grand!
I was laughing. Dad dealing with young one. Good luck at the next tournament.
Have you seen seth feider’s interview for angler of the year on wired 2 fish? If you haven’t check it out. You’ll absolutely love it
Sounds like these lakes are just a lot tougher than they used to be. Enjoyed watching the whole process and the videos leading up to the tournament. Can’t wait for the next one.
Good for you Randy I’m so thankful you don’t allow politics in your video’s I’m sick of listening to that stuff I’m like you I want clean water and air I value your opinion keep up the good work!!
If u would have those fish u would have been in great shape
When I have fish chase a worm to boat it tells me it’s time to throw a crankbait
Tell those jerks , Mr.Randy
Stay up Randy. Don't let the haters hate and the conspiracy theorists win.
Fishing and eating an apple are similar ...... no one wants to see half a worm after a bite. 😀
Hopefully that was a flathead that got off and not a bass. I know you know your stuff though.
keep your head up just one tournament .You know Grand well.Someone told when it tuff square bill &trolling motor on cover water.I think you know him.Best of luck ,enjoy your channel .
