Thanks so much for your instructions. I tried the Free Rig today but struggled with the retrieve. Now that I know its a slack line presentation, and I have to watch the line for bites it makes A LOT more sense now. Definitely going to work on this next weekend and over my vacation! I have 1/8th tungsten drop shot weights, but ordering some 3/16 and 1/4's. Also had to track down some JDM 3.5 inch Kut Tails, but got those on order too. Going to grab some Shad's as well. While I struggled with it today, I loved how the rig felt on my BFS setup =)
I have been using a Free Rig for the past two years and I found it works better on a spinning reel. When casting I leave the bail open until I think it reaches the bottom the slack line allows more separation between the weight and the hook.
Thanks for the great and informative video on the Free Rig. I primarily use this as my confidence bait when going out over my previous ned rig. Again, great job on the video!
So more free than a Texas rig apparently. Back in the day when we Texas rigged with a glass bead called " Doodling " Don Iovino invented it. But that was in the 80's. 😮❤
Today I'll make a try of it on lake Biwa, I'm about to use a BFS Aldebaran and a BFS Xpride rod, 5g weight and yamasenko, I hope make some catches, nice tutorial like always 👍
Waki-san! Can I recommend you Kuying Teton rods they're really afforable bfs rods rated from L to UUL. They're really popular with light salt game anglers in southeast Asia!
Wow you’re right, the kut tail isn’t that popular here. I must get some of the 3.5 in version, where do you purchase if I live in the US? Tackle warehouse only has the 4” of course, not the 3.5”
Both but I like Texas. Texas rig is a basic of the basic and I have not yet far form the master of Texas rig. For surf, C-rig wound be more reasonable than Texas IMO.
What's the best low budget baitcaster combo. U recommend me brotha. For all around?? An also sa.e thing for bfs combo. Want it specific for trout only mini jigs minnows 1gs 3gs tops. Please help. An keep up great job on fishing an videos number 1 fan man wish someday we can fish if u ever down here in socal oc area. Well meet up an tear up some spotties or w.e.
Thank you for watching! It's up to each individual's experience/knowledge level. For the very beginners, starting from Gulp/LiveWorm would be the best.
Specwise, both look okay for an entry rods. The fact is we don't have any rods exclusively designed for BFS in the U.S., unfortunately (this is just IMO).
This weight can move smoothly since it has less friction than bullet weights. And the weight shape gives us a bit longer casting distance. On the other hands, I love using Texas to fish rocks and weeds.
Hello sir. Where I live there are muddy/chocolate milk lakes with small fish. How do I know if my soft plastic baitis are either too large or too small?
Thanks for mentioning that the free rig is from Korea. Super cool of you .👍🏽
Thank you for watching! 👍👍
The KDM vs JDM Wars
Excellent videos, you explain the techniques very well, including the nuances. Thank you.
You're very welcome!
This is the best explanation ive seen for the free rig. Now i see the value of it and how to work it. Thank you.
You're very welcome!
This is an awesome instructional video. I really appreciate you showing the action on working the bait!
Thanks for the video. I will definitely be trying this in my Arsenal. I finesse fish the drop shot mainly and this will be great to use as well.
Good luck 👍

I hope this rig works for you! 👍
Caught them all year round with the free rig that’s my go to setup now

Thank you sir for your hard work in making this video I'll have to find this lake and try to fish for bass
Thank you for watching! 👍
Thanks Waki, have to give it a try here in uk. 👍👍
Hope this works for jumbo perch in the U.K.👍👍
Saw you on a different video explaining this technique. Found your channel tonight. I subscribed, awesome stuff!
Awesome, thank you!
Thank you. A very helpful video, easy to follow with good tips!
You're very welcome!
Nice video, good technique and nice teaching 👍
Great job 👏
Thank you! 😃
Thanks Angler Waki! I need to try the kut tail worm and your free rig retrieve. It looks killer for a deep water slow vertical fall.
Good luck! My style could be too slow for the high season but it's winter. Slow and finesse approach could be better.
FINALLY, someone who explains that this is a finesse rig and not yet another rig to be bastardized into a power technique!
👍
20lb test, 6/0 hook
You get very in depth, and explain alot, thank you

Big thanks 👍👍

Thank you for watching, buddy! 👍
Thank you for making this instructive and quite entertaining!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice work Angler waki, gives me a few new ideas to try out in Australia 👍
Thank you! It's great to hear! 👍👍

Glad I found your channel! Great information in your videos!
That is a very unique looking rig, Waki. 😀 Thanks for demonstrating it. Nice bass catches too❗️
Thank you! This rig is easy to set up and can be an alternative for the Carolina rig. If you have a chance, please try this in the east coast 👍
@@AnglerWaki I never saw this rig before, but I would like to try it sometime 👍🏻
非常詳細的解說,學習了,謝謝分享
謝謝 for the comment! 👍
I would like to try that for trout this next summer very cool!

Thanks a lot, you too! 👍👍
Excellent video. Thanks 👍
I absolutely love this technique!!! Where can I get the weights?
Let's go online like Tackle Warehouse.
What size hooks are you using?
Waki-san! Can I recommend you Kuying Teton rods they're really afforable bfs rods rated from L to UUL. They're really popular with light salt game anglers in southeast Asia!
Thank you for the info! I'll check it out 👍

hmm.. If Tackle Warehouse does not have it, it could mean this is discontinued in the U.S. unfortunately. :(
@@AnglerWaki found some on Amazon…. Shhhhhhh 🤫
Waki I really enjoy your videos and have learned alot. What offset ewg hook size do you recommend for a 3 inch senko
I'm using #2 (Hayabusa) but it would be up to what offset hook you're using.
nice video! do you prefer the texas rig or the free rig for fishing saltwater rock jetties? What about for surf fishing? And why, thanks in advance!
Both but I like Texas. Texas rig is a basic of the basic and I have not yet far form the master of Texas rig. For surf, C-rig wound be more reasonable than Texas IMO.
Japanese Angler Waki in the U.S. thank you, love your channel!
Question, In Japan do people prefer to fish with barb or barbless hooks.
Thanks, I love that your teaching Japanese techniques
I'd say both. It would be up to each angler's preference. 👍
I love your video . learn a lot from your ideas . please help me to find the Rod
Thank you for watching!
Angler waki I hope you understand how helpful these videos are! I can’t thank you enough! Could we use this in saltwater for spotties?
Yes. Please check out another Free Rig video.

Awesome
Waki-sempai, do you think large mouth bass is easier to catch or spotted bay bass is easier?
mmm. good question... I'd say it's same! Not easy! (you don't know how much I got skunked) :P
Very good sharing, master ...👍👍
Thank you!!! 👍👍👍
Awesome video!! You’re a great teacher. Thanks! And hit me up if you ever come to Grand Lake in Oklahoma

I think I have watched every single one of your videos. But which would you recommend for a beginner fishing in a highly pressured lake/pond?
Thank you for watching! It's up to each individual's experience/knowledge level. For the very beginners, starting from Gulp/LiveWorm would be the best.
Angler Waki! I’m looking to get a bfs rod. Wondering what you thought about the shimano Sensilite vs the bps micro lite?
Specwise, both look okay for an entry rods. The fact is we don't have any rods exclusively designed for BFS in the U.S., unfortunately (this is just IMO).
@@AnglerWaki thank you for the help! I always look forward to your videos!
What water temperature is best for this rig?
I think any.
That's cool way to fish.
Thank you very much! Pickerels may like this rig!

Hello sir. Where I live there are muddy/chocolate milk lakes with small fish. How do I know if my soft plastic baitis are either too large or too small?
Not sure the bait size in your place but maybe this article help.
www.bassmaster.com/greg-hackney/catching-bass-muddy-water
Do you use swivel in this rig?
No, I don't. But using a swivel for attaching the weight sounds a good idea and we have special swivels for this rig in Japan.

What strain of Bass is in Japan?
Large, Small, and Florida.
Hook size 1/0?
No. #2 or #1 would fit well for 3 inch lures.
