How does one go about increasing the strength of Retinol? You are using 1% and you suggested 0.1-0.2% for beginners. After how long and by what percentage should we increase its strength?
Also, how should people with combination skin apply retinol? Lastly, after protecting/moisturising thin areas, can we apply retinol there? Eyelids, undereyes etc. And should it be applied on hands?

Secondly, how do you manage all this with your prayers? I usually put on my moisturizer and sunblock, but after a few hours, it's time for Zuhar, Asar, and then Magrib. Do we have to do all these steps every time we do wuzu? Won't that be too much for the skin? And if not, then won't that be too little for the skin? 😅
No just apply it morning and night
Thank you! I apply it in the morning. Even giving it 2-3 hours to absorb is enough. The only thing you have to re apply is sunscreen and at night after I’ve prayed, an hour before going to bed.
Facing same issue. Im office going and half of the day is spend in skincare.

Salam Anya. I do agree with how retinol is a transforming skin ingredient. However the problem I get with the ordinary retinol is that they have a very short shelf life maybe some months and if I use only some drops of it in a week, by the end of those months, the bottle is still almost half filled. I don’t know now if that is the case with everyone, but this is the only thing that makes me not want to buy ordinary retinol or any retinol for that matter because the ordinary retinols are the only ones affordable and quality guaranteed.

Hi Anya, I’m a physician based in USA. It was good vlog, informative but i did notice that you did not mention tretinoin which is usually prescribed by physicians and is a stronger option. I agree super goop is a great sunscreen. I use it myself.
Yes! You are right tretinoin is prescribed by Dermatologist and it is the high dosage from 3 to 10%.It isn't an incomplete information
Tretinoin isn’t accessible for everyone and shouldn’t be used without a dermatologists prescription plus it’s not a great idea to start with such a strong concentration of retinol unless you have a specific treatment concern like cystic or nodular acne. I don’t think it’s the best idea to give medical advice over the internet or recommend prescription based meds.

Been using retinol since 2 years and it has improved my skin alot. Started with ordinary 0.2% and now on 0.5 every other day.
However, using sunscreen is a hustle but ofcourse it has many benefits on its own.
Korean/japenese sunscreens are very good. Filters plus texture wise.
Purito, etude house sunprise airy finish , biore uv are my go to sunscreens.

Anya you explained everything well! Few things I want to advise being a skincare addict. 1. Retinol or tretinoin causes dryness and I found a very simple solution to it which is mixing glycerin in your moisturizer. Trust me it does wonders. 2. It’s important to exfoliate your skin on days you don’t use tretinoin. I use AHA/BHA
3. It’s very important to make sure your sunscreen is not expired. I am concerned about it when you buy things from random pages in Pakistan.

@@ayeshamughal6483 AHA/BHA is chemical exfoliant. Scrubs are physical exfoliant. Exfoliant removes dead skin cells from your skin which helps absorb skin care products better. It also improves texture of your skin.

Always start Retinol with less concentration i’m using The Ordinary Retional 0.1% now i’ll go with higher concentration
Dear you are experiencing purging... its ok. Keep on using retinol.. your skin is adjusting to the product . The acne will go away in 3 weeks
Use drunk elephant retinol cream or adapalene not the one u r using plus after a month u will c difference also get good quality moisturizer like I use drunk elephant moisturizer hope helps u also don’t freak just give it some time 3 months at least
