True but everyone and their mother on UA-cam keep talking about how this is luxury or that. At the end of the day most people will just buy cheap grudge things and look like slobs. Or at least that what I see all the time in the South USA. People can buy and pay what ever they want, its their money at the end of the day. No different than people who pay 100 of dollars to go see a baseball game.
I think also it should be realised people save up and pay for their items after months of graft - I saved up religiously for Rockstuds for my son’s wedding. Discarding items so whimsically is a nod to the throwaway society we seem to live in. I won’t rise to it I’m afraid and will keep wearing however passé they are deemed !
I still rock my Valentino Rockstuds and get compliments every time I wear them. Don’t be a fashion victim, buy something only if you love it and you will wear it proudly forever.
Yea me too! I still wear my rockstuds. They’re the most comfortable heels/kitten I own to date! My chanel & dior slingbacks on the other hand, were the complete opposite so I sold them and no regrets!
@@ohhey_ that’s right, they are super comfortable! My favourite are the ones without the straps, just a classic pump with the studs (unfortunately discontinued) they are the most comfortable 85mm heels ever, even compared to my block heels. I might also sell my Chanel Slingbacks, not particularly comfortable and the wear and tear is so so noticeable after only a couple of wears 😔
Two years ago I saw some of Cristobal balenciagas original designs on exhibition. It was magnificent, some of the dresses could be modern, almost none seemed outdated. Nothing balenciaga puts out today represents in any way that original vision😩
I can’t wait until Stanley cups go out of style. I’m gonna laugh so hard at the clowns who have cabinets full of multicolored CUPS !!!! Like why did you need MULTIPLE REUSABLE CUPS 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Balenciaga himself would be horrified at the state of this House. My fave designers are Japanese. My Issey Miyake Windcoat is timeless. Even Grace Jones wore one. Comme de Garcon wool jacket ....still great. I am a 75 yr old man.
Disclaimer: I do not own any “luxury”, designer’s big name bag nor do I wish to own one. Since there are omnipresent these days and everyone seems to have at least one designers item, they simply seem cheap to me. Also, it’s a matter of how people wear these items and only few really know how to style them, what cheapens them even more in my opinion. But again we all are different and entitled to doing whatever we want with our money. Enjoying your videos!
I can not confirm that. Just today I noticed again that some of the clothes on Dior's first day of sale are hardly available due to pre-orders. There are a lot of people who would like to say that, but it's not like that. Some things don't sell well, others do. When I'm in the store, I also see how other people buy handbags. They are also well attended. Dior also has a lot of things without a logo. People buy both with and without a logo.
I agree with everything except the following: Oran Sandals. Those are just classic wardrobe staples. Just as the YSL Tribute is their signature slide, that’s also a staple. I still see plenty of women wearing their Orans. True, it’s been counterfeited and duped a lot. However, it’s still a classy shoe that looks nice with pretty much everything you pair with it, which is why it’s still popular. Next, Valentino Rockstud. The Rockstud has become “the face of Valentino “, just as The Speedy is the face of LV. Recently, in Harper’s Bazaar, they spoke of how the Rockstud has become a classic that has reached timeless status. The Rockstud had super high sales for 2023, which is why it’s back front and center for 2024. Did you know Valentino makes the most money off The Rockstud line? I sold the pair I purchased many years ago and went to purchases another pair because I fell back in love. I still see them often. They look timeless to me and I get why Valentino has made it a focal point in its collections. Lastly, the Burberry Nova Check Print. You kinda lost me on this one, sis. Burberry created the Nova Check print. They literally have the patent on it. 😂 It belongs to the. That is their signature print! Also, Burberry is one of the leading “quiet luxury” designer houses, along with The Row. You see their print and you already know what time it is! Their pieces are elegant and do not scream money at all. I do own the Nova Check scarf and get tons of compliments when I wear it during the cold months. I also have. Burberry trench that gets tons of compliments. These are considered classic, staple pieces that always elevate your look. But to call it lazy of Burberry to always display their Nova Check, which is the logo of their brand, is a bit much. 😂 Just as the lion head is the logo of Versace. Do you feel Valentina Versace is lazy for displaying her logo as well? Anyway, I do understand it’s your perspective and you are entitled to your opinion. So, I respect it. Even though your perspectives are very humorous though.
I love my Oran sandals, all 8 of them 😊I look forward to Spring and Summer just so I can wear them!!! I tried the dupes so I can save money, but it does not feel as comfy!!!
We all knew that luxury brands mark up products a lot- but the recent dior incident has left me disillusioned. I previously was planning to get my hands on a couple bags, and maybe an hermes some day. But now it's looking like it'd be a waste of money seeing how low quality they have become.
Daniel Lee was the worst choice, his Catholic Bombastic approach is the opposite of Old Money quiet luxury WASP-y that Burberry was beloved for. BELOVED. He's trying to turn B into 2015 Supreme but an Anglo brand is the polar opposite to the Italians like BV. I really wanna love them but the old beige looks tired, like, NO new colours? Not an icy blue, racing green, lavenders for y2k lovers but traditional, he is just so creatively barren it makes me sad. I wish they got the lady who took over from McQueen, Sarah Burton I think? SHE would've made it amazing again. Not afraid of lace and beading either. Just SOMETHING.
If you live in London it's not worth buying anything conspicuously expensive with designer logos visible or that is instantly recognisable as a certain brand. I'd also say be very careful in using your mobile phone in public too. Our crime now is getting totally out of hand. And it will only get worse. I buy vintage, niche and obscure new designer and artisanal craftsman gear and thank goodness for my idiosyncratic, eccentric style as it may just save me from a deeply traumatising mugging. London's going down the toilet. Keep designer bags for the occasions where a taxi deposits you from your front door directly to a venue and then back home.
I can’t bring myself to wear a logo. I even hide the word Hermes when I fold a scarf. I think it’s because I remember an earlier time when people went logo crazy: the ‘80s
This happened with van cleef arpels back in 2010 give or take, it became popular with a ton of dups just no social media like today. Its been around forever and I believe it will survive unlike some lux clothing brands.
a lot of these cycle. i don't have logos on my belts but i have absolutely no doubt that they will come back in style soon enough. "quiet luxury" is just another trend. it won't last forever edit: some are definitely deserving of the coffin emoji though ⚰
I''ll stick with my vintage Hobbs leather belt from my grandmother, that belts older than me and still classic and in perfect condition, no logo's no initials and nothing flashy.
I was buying LUXURY brands on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills....when my daughters were little girls. And then a few years ago...one of those little girls was a WOMAN...who took a tour of Europe 🌍...with her husband and her 2 little girls...and they all walked into the LV store in Paris...and she bought herself an LV bag...while her little girls stood by WATCHING. So naturally....what do you think will happen when her little girls GROW UP? I repeat... LUXURY BRANDS are TIMELESS...and cannot be taken down by anyone.
Burberry's "nova check" is part of the brands heritage. And I doubt that they will ever stop using it as a part of their brand identity. Hopefully just not overuse it. Anything overused gets overwhelming. Be it rockstuds, fendi logo, or Oran sandals. But too many influencers have the cash to burn and unfortunately these "haul" unboxings will continue one way or another.
I loved the Orans, but too many duplicates were made. I know, I bought a lot of them, only in good genuine leather. Once a synthetic/plastic dupe hits Amazon, we know a style is out, or is on its way out, at least. Those Asian mass-producers are at least 5 to 20 years or more behind style trends, I’m always shocked at all those 2000 styles in cheap poly they’re still trying to sell. Who buys that stuff?
LOL. As a lover of style, I don't know how wearing a belt with logos can make any outfit cool, unless you're wearing jeans and a white tee. And even then, poor taste.
Yes. Had Alhambra and other VCA pieces before social media and will hand them to my daughter and nieces. Timeless pieces. They don’t even understand that the shape is from the Alhambra castle in Spain 😂
I still wear my sandals from Hermes, and belt. I don’t mind if many people wear the fake one. Because mine already 7 years old and I still enjoy them. While fake Hermes sandals looks bad after couple of month. If you have money, you can choose what designers items that you really like 👍 don’t be fashioned victims.
VCA … my husband wanted to buy me a bracelett and a necklace and i Said in Front of the Sales man. I dont want it because it is everywhere. Went to a jewelry Boutique and got something Specially made for me with diamonds … better Choice
Concur.. would not give up my Burberry coat and purse.. the old usual pattern comforts me or perhaps just like the color combination? I still like and buy Burberry products…
I just can't wrap my head around spending so much on low quality. There are leatherworkers who turn out real, timeless quality for much less and will even make something bespoke. If I had LV or YSL money I'd hire my own seamstress.
Most people don’t care about any overpriced products ,bags, clothes etc.. no one would pay attention if influencer would not market them which is so obvious… or if you didn’t see the logos … belts are just belts and no one needs to see the logo on anything…
THOSE HAVE NEVER BEEN LUXURIOUS ITEMS, those items have been mass produced and people have made a fool of themselves believing they were "unique" and telling others how wonderful felt to wear them
I begin to hate certain handbags because everyone had a real or fake one of it like those Louis Vuitton bags and Michael Kors. There's nothing wrong with liking the bags, it's just that everyone has one and The Birkin real or fake is rare to spot; practical too.
I absolutely adore VCA. I think even the classics which weren’t mentioned in this video, such as the chanel classic flap, cartier love/tank/panthere, etc. all have many knockoffs and items that are heavily “inspired” by them. Usually, anything that is desirable or worth wanting will be knocked off. VCA is extremely classic, timeless, and the epitome of femininity imo. It’s my own personal opinion, but I think the Cartier love has reached overdone/tacky status (much less so than VCA Alhambra). Even so, many people enjoy the Cartier love which has its own appeal being a very classic bangle with clean lines and an easily stackable piece. All in all, as others have said, if you truly love something - don’t listen to what others say! Enjoy what you love and don’t subscribe to quick trends unless you really want to. Style should be about what speaks to you.
Our parents taught us the value of money. We don't waste money on luxurious %oods. Save and invest your money for your future. When you have the money, then buy if you can afford. I stopped buying things in 2012 and use what i have.
so WHY do high-end brands lose value? Mercedes, Ciroc, Gucci. Bad marketing strategy obviously. Maybe LV should make underwear so the label is on the back outer band so it shows whe ih sagyaw-ynahmsaine-shee.
I might be 70+ but I have NEVER liked quilted handbags! I think they are plastic looking and not at all classy. There are SO many beautifully made leather handbags. As for initials on my beautiful boobs? NO! Good posture is more classy that a company's initials! IMHO😂
Humans are so weird. I don't think any of this matters. If you like the design of something, just wear it. 20 years from now, these will be 'It' once again. Things are to be used and enjoyed, otherwise they'r just cluttered.
I have just subscribed, would love to view more videos from you. I am 74 years old, have the original Channel Flap Bag and a small black Wild Stitch Tote by Channel. Most of my Luxury Bags are vintage, well made in great condition. I have not bought any bags since the greedy price increases, over and over again, awful quality issues. I rotate my collection as I like. I always bought what I love, never sold any of them. I do not like Old Lady Birkins, Perhaps when I am in my late 80s or 90s, I will be old enough to carry one. They look like the bags my Nana and Great Aunt would carry to church. They were born in the 1880s.
omg some of those accessories were killed by influencers that were getting them for free. that's what killed it. Literally every brand gave it to the influencers and they abused accessories to death. I remember seeing some influencers wearing the exact same set of accessories in every video for the entire summer. Rotate folks. The hermes game feels like something that shoppers came up instead of Hermes. Hermes is just did nothing to lower the hype. Which why would they when someone will spend tens of thousands of dollars thinking they're going to get up the list because.
I own Dior bags, and I personally don’t think they’re going to take much of a hit. I’m going to keep carrying my gorgeous bags, just like I still carry my Balenciaga bags. While I agree that you don’t see Burberry’s nova check as much as we used to, it’s still iconic. I just bought my first Burberry trench coat and scarf and I own a Mini Banner bag. LOVE THEM. ❤
Oran sandals are also not comfortable for all feet- not great for wide feet. So many influencers talking about breaking them in… not worth it. Very ordinary looking and so many dupes. Gucci loafers also hard to wear at first. Loro Piana loafers much better but often out of stock. Burberry has lost its way but hopefully will come back.
Everything you mentioned are items that became trendy, therefore now they’re tacky and fashion victim-y. I know an item has long been done for when I see it everywhere in elementary schools. When 10 and 11 year olds are rocking “Orans”, H belts, Rockstud shoes, and “Dior” book totes, it’s actually comical to see adults dressed the same exact way. ⚰️
I bought the Apple I watch when it first came out. You could hardly get leather bands. Now it’s just sitting there and I have not worn it in weeks. It’s all over the place.
I love my Apple Watch. I have the series 3 and it’s 7 years old. It still works perfectly and despite wearing it daily it’s in perfect condition. I’m pregnant and it helps me stay active and get enough steps in, which is super important for pregnancy.
If you will spend that much money on an item then you should be able to wear or use them whatever the season or year. Fuck what everyone thinks as long as it makes you happy
Funny how everything in your list I saw in every store front on holiday in Turkey. The fakes are getting so good nowadays and with the Dior scandal I'm not going to buy any more luxury bags at least for a while. I'm glad I never bought the tote though I do own a limited edition D Lite handbag which is probably just as cheap to make!
Trends come and go, it has always been that way. Its hot and then its not and then design houses go on to produce the next hot new thing. It's a never ending cycle that will never change/ You can participate or not
I would add Baccarat Rouge 540, I smell knockoffs once or twice DAILY, it would be insane to pay for the original and end up smelling just like everyone else.
after buying chanel i stopped buying luxury bags. it only cost 57 dollars to make those luxury bags. hermes is a scam too. i dunno why people fall into that foolish games spending 30k with no birkin or kelly offers when they know it only takes 300 too 500 to create those bags
Anything trendy eventually becomes tacky. Luxury items go with a certain lifestyle - people just do not have the lifestyle, just the credit to buy those items.
I have so many nice high fashion items I love. And I must agree those “trends” you mentioned are so ugly. Besides Alhambra VCA. I just genuinely adore mother of pearl❤
I actually love my Balenciaga pieces but not because they bare the name Balenciaga. I actually like their designs and appreciate them beyond their season. The Crush Tote is my favorite purse because it's hilarious and beautiful and always strikes up a conversation about how screwed up luxury fashion has become. Also the 10XL sneakers are my most comfortable shoes followed by the HardCrocs and the Bouncers. I really love the few pieces I have and think it's ridiculous to throw them out over the ad scandals (abhorrent as they were). If we want to go that route, that's fine. But we need to completely cancel every single brand under Kering. And while we're at it cancel Calvin Klein. We all seem to have completely forgotten the 90's, huh? And every single brand that's collaberated with Balenciaga has to go as well. So no Adidas or Gap or Under Armour or Yeezy. And better yet stop watching The Simpsons as well. It's just going too far. I'm not getting rid of my purse or my shoes.
I stopped buying luxury handbags when everyone and their mothers caught on. If you have a great sense of style and good taste, you know and can feel when something starts looking cheap. Once it's offered to the masses and mass-produced, you know to stay away from it. I am 60 and my first designer bag was the LV satchel circa 1979 when I was 16 years old. Back then, girls my age didn't have a clue on any luxury brands. I still have it and now it is vintage. It is better than any of the latest LV bags offered in various styles/designs and materials. I also have the classic Chanel 2.55 black quilt bag purchased in 1990 so I suppose it is also vintage. I loved Kate Spade (I know, she's not at the Luxury level) for her whimsy designs back in the early 1990’s. I love all the unique pieces I have of KS, but once she sold her company, it was over. Cheap hard leather was being used for her handbags so I am no longer a fan. Ditto for Coach. I love the pieces I have from the 70’s and 80’s but never purchased anything after those pieces. My point: you know when to stay away. I am on board with quiet luxury; it’s the quality, design (classic), materials used that matter. Check out Shiv from Succession.
Part 2 is out!! ua-cam.com/video/z0aezJdPQb8/v-deo.html
My rule: never wear someone else's initials.
That's why I never bought those New Balance sneakers
That’s great actually! When I wear my CC brooch, people go, oh so fancy, Coco Chanel! And I’m like no CC are my initials 😉
Nor do I wear the name of a brand in BIG BOLD LETTERS across my chest. I'm not paying them to advertise for free.
Right on!!!!!
Unless you have the same initials as the designer!
In my opinion a person should just buy whatever they like and love and not what is popular or trendy
Precisely.
Exactly!

THOSE HAVE NEVER BEEN LUXURIOUS ITEMS, those items have been mass produced and people have made a fool of themselves believing they were "unique" and telling others how wonderful felt to wear them
THIS!!! 💯👏🏼
I love quiet luxury
My Orans are a staple. I love them
a friend of mine wear in summer Oran sandales from Hermes since last year and now they look like old slippers from old old time
I begin to hate certain handbags because everyone had a real or fake one of it like those Louis Vuitton bags and Michael Kors.
There's nothing wrong with liking the bags, it's just that everyone has one and The Birkin real or fake is rare to spot; practical too.
Dior handbag. Retail. $2800. Cost to Dior. $47. According to the Italian authorities the bags are made in sweatshops. Trial ongoing in Italy.
REAL luxury brands are TIMELESS....and can NEVER be taken down by anyone. Period.
Would never give up Hermes or VCA or Cartier pieces. What is fashion to Gen Z are classics to others.
Our parents taught us the value of money. We don't waste money on luxurious %oods.
Save and invest your money for your future. When you have the money, then buy if you can afford.
I stopped buying things in 2012 and use what i have.
If so many people have it then it's not luxury anymore.
The Hermes sandals are gorgeous. They had all the potential
so WHY do high-end brands lose value?
⚰️
2nd video please
😂😂😂 love her voice with a natural chicky laughing... ❤❤❤
omg some of those accessories were killed by influencers that were getting them for free. that's what killed it.
I prefer handmade better quality items. I have a few hand made rings belts made of amazing materials. I hate walking billboards stuff.
i get stuff bespoke too. Pay the artisan, not the company.
LOVE THEM. ❤
Love this ❤
Buy what you like..if you can afford and buy a luxury item..buy it cause you love it..not for status
The Hermes slides are so ugly to me. They make toes look so uneven and long.
i'm not against logos per se, but a belt with a logo buckle is one of the tackiest things in fashion.
I’m pregnant and it helps me stay active and get enough steps in, which is super important for pregnancy.
it is useful if you spend a lot of time exercising, which is good for people.
If you will spend that much money on an item then you should be able to wear or use them whatever the season or year. Fuck what everyone thinks as long as it makes you happy
SOMEONE FINALLY SAID IT!!! 🙌 Those ridiculous designer clown belts are so tacky, ugly and utterly tastless
Hey, whatever you own already, leave it in your closet for the next decade. I don’t ever sell my items
Worst is valentino shoes now
talk about whether streetwear will ever be appropriate for burberry, daniel lee's loud approach seems to be running them into the ground
If you wanted a meme suggestion: the woody and buzz meme but it's daniel lee saying BEIGE CHECK, BEIGE CHECK EVERYWHERE.
hahahahahah that's incredibly funny!
after buying chanel i stopped buying luxury bags. it only cost 57 dollars to make those luxury bags. hermes is a scam too. i dunno why people fall into that foolish games spending 30k with no birkin or kelly offers when they know it only takes 300 too 500 to create those bags
Quiet luxury is tacky.
I still kinda like it but I understand, we are overexposed to it :))
Anything trendy eventually becomes tacky. Luxury items go with a certain lifestyle - people just do not have the lifestyle, just the credit to buy those items.
Ironic that it was supposed to be a cure for tacky. Now, social climbers wanna project wealth rathet than have it.
Quiet luxury is boring but not tacky.
I have so many nice high fashion items I love. And I must agree those “trends” you mentioned are so ugly. Besides Alhambra VCA. I just genuinely adore mother of pearl❤
1:18 and I hit subscribe
I never liked those Rick Star stud shoes, but now they look super-dated. No one wears heels like that anymore, anyway.
Don't wear anything that has logos which are tacky.
I bought Steve Madden's sandals, and honestly, I can't tell the difference
Same!! 😄
good video
Lazy is a good word for it
Your entitled to your opinion but VCA is still super hot. Try to get one - impossible.
I think the Burberry check still has legs
These designers are out to get your money... No thanks...😅
I commend you for sticking to your values re the fashion houses in disgrace. They deserve it.
Loud. Yes.
