    Only found you a week ago but have already consumed some 30 hours and counting, I love it, especially the full Rohan and Arnor histories! I love that you don't just regurgitate what you have gone over in other videos word by word but instead go in with fresh writing it's brilliant.❤️

      @@DarthGandalfYT As a transwoman doing voice training that is extremely relatable. BUT I am now probably closer to 40 hours and in the horrible microphone era but the content is worth it, love how much you've improved as you go! ❤

    The sun initially rose in the west, and then swung back and forth between west and east, never setting. The Valar soon changed their minds, and the sun began following the daily cycle we still have today.
    I'm a software engineer, and this has always seemed like a post-release bug fix via a configuration setting update. 🙂☀️

    "if you ever feel lazy, just look at the elven cartographers that named the entire region east"
    Sort of like in hitckhikers guide when the entire entry for Earth is "Harmless", it gets even funnier when it changes to "Mostly harmless" after Ford Prefect complained to the publishers about it.

    The seas of Rhun, Nurnen and Helcar existing at the same time is quite possible even with the latter drying up. It’s actually expected, as while the Sea of Helcar was drying, the latter two seas were split off and remained, even when the Helcar finally vanished.

    • @ellanenish5999
      @ellanenish5999 2 місяці тому

      I think it's said that the Sea of Rhûn was all the time however I might be mistaken, when it comes to Sea of Núrnen I would assume it was definetly the cause of splitting up due to drying of the sea

    • @DarthGandalfYT
      @DarthGandalfYT  2 місяці тому +3

      It's possible, but then Helcar must've dried up at a rapid rate given the Elves went around it, and then ended up at the Sea of Rhun.

    It's really too bad that Amazon didn't decide to focus their series on the Easterlings and blue wizards. There would be so many interesting stories about the various peoples and those that resist against Sauron, and no need to stomp all over the existing worldbuilding.

    Complete speculation but maybe the eastern dwarves refused to submit and were therefore attacked and their holds besieged by the Easterlings under Sauron's dominion. This would explain the strange dwarven refugees in the shire, Sauron's battle hardened troops, and also why an army was sent with great success against the longbeards in the north.

    The Rhun people are the true Children of Illuvatar. They did not have Elven masters. They fend off for themselves since their awakening. They are a civilization closer to the origin of man. They were the true potential of humanity. Too bad the only religion they knew is Sauron
    The sea of Helcar must have been the golden age for the people of rhun. But those pesky Valar destroyed it. That's why their society was destroyed because of the sudden climate and geographical change
