    Yes these are lighter and ‘softer’ maybe even suitable for an intermediate skier. I also believe they are recognised as the single best mogul ski and that’s the pinnacle of skiing, the most challenging. So these would also be suitable for the highest level expert of the single most challenging aspect of skiing. Neither curator nor you spoke about this ski as potentially the best expert mogul ski. I needed a daily driver and went with Armada Declivity 88C as it’s stiffer and better suited for front side skiing which by I can be forced to do - but these K2 Mindbender 90Cs were a very close second on my shortlist.

    Thank goodness someone had said it. I'm looking at a new set of Mindbenders (albeit 96C) and Curated frustrates the heck out of me. Nothing is clear and at the end of the videos you are no more educated than before.

    Have to disagree with you Elliott, Bad skiing. Sloughing his lazy turns with majority of weight on inside ski. Minimal angulation, more like inclination but poorly executed. He'd be toast on anything truly challenging. Soft tips and tails have 0 to do with turn initiation. Maybe he meant sidecut? 1/2 of these skiers wouldn't know the difference between a beginner and expert ski since they're lower intermediates at best. It's not the skis getting knocked around, it's him. He sucks period. I don't see any carving at all. Purely skidded and sloughy, lazy turns.

      I was trying to be generous, but I have a hard time disagreeing. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!

      @@RicketySkiReviews lol... Be stingy. We like you that way. Keep up the good work! As you've said, Curated purports these reviewers as "experts." Problem is w/o expert skills, they don't flex the skis to put it into reverse camber and get it to bite. This can be done in all turn shapes, it's just the radius changes b/c the arc of the turn changes. Either way, pressure should always be on the balls of your feet and fronts of your boots. Because they're on greenish slopes and can't do this, they, not the skis, get knocked around. Jonny Mosely obviously is a legit expert. Watch him in the bumps and he's definitely still got it. Bit of a playboy, but whatevs. SE is good.

    I was able to test a Mindbender 90c in Jan-2022. I liked them very much. But ended up getting myself in Dec-2022 the 89ti. I wanted to have some medal in it as I ski more often on groomers then off-piste. Here in the Swiss Alps were anyway getting less and less poder days. In march 2023 I could ski them in nice powder in Saas Fee. They did ok, needed to put some effort in it, more of course than my friend that was on a 106 under foot. Overall the 89ti works well for me.
    Curated Expert vids are useless.. the boys from Ski Essentials again doing a great job. Kudos to them.

      Agreed, they do a great job! I reviewed the Mindbender 99ti's recently and was really pleasantly surprised by them. Thanks for watching and your nice comment!

    I recently bought the Mindbender 90C after getting a sweet deal on last year’s model. I used a carbon Elan carving ski in the past, and wondered what to expect in terms of edge hold. My elan Wingman 78C did not feel much different than rentals skis in terms of edge grip on ice, and I had wanted a wider, all-mountain ski that would accommodate my love for trees and the occasional powder day or Rocky Mountain ski trip (I usually ski in Quebec). I understand that the Ti Mindbenders might have been the better choice for icy conditions, but I’m 155lbs at 5’9”, and love the feel of a light and playful ski. All that to say: how good/bad will this perform on ice? Thanks!

      Great Question, Ti is more influential with load capacity when carving, stiffness, etc. Cutting into the ice is more heavily influenced by how sharp your edges are. Keep your skis tuned and you should still have a great time.
      Great question and thanks for watching!

    For real on this video I feel like your hating a bit. Like those guys are good skiers and even with the 360 camera you can see it. They're not doing a complete review but still there giving some large in-site about the ski. I still think Curated just do those videos to sell skies so they're never going to give negative critics about the skis they're reviewing.

    I consider a medium turn radius like 15-20 meters. 21+ starts to get long. I don’t think any non race skis go above 25 meters. The short/medium/long scale is lower when referring to non race skis.

      Totally fair point! I was gonna hit you with a rebuttal, but you're totally right the Atomic Redster Q9.8 has a Radius of 15.2 on the 181.

    I really respect your opinion - how do you compare these to the Atomic Maverick 86C?

    • @RicketySkiReviews
      @RicketySkiReviews  10 місяців тому

      have not skied the 86c, only the Maverick 88ti so I can't give you an honest opinion, but the 88ti was my ski of the year.
