I’ve a Kawasaki dirt bike and a Ducati street bike, my mind needs a second to adapt to counter steer or not depending on which bike I’m on, speed, etc… I’m trying to wrap my brain around steering this beauty.
I "won" an antique Soviet Union KMZ Dnepr military sidecar motorcycle at an estate auction. It was imported from Ukraine right after the collapse of the Soviet Union. After I figured out how to get into the sidecar trunk I have an owner and service manual in English along with a separate parts catalog also in English and many other languages. It tells you not to ride the bike without the sidecar attached. After restoring it to running and driving condition I wanted to test ride the bike before reattaching the sidecar. That was a very bad idea! I almost ended up in a ditch after the first turn I made. The frontend has a high rake angle and almost no trail. I never attempted that again. KMZ Dnepr motorcycles were built for the military while Ural motorcycles were built for civilians. Ural survived the collapse but KMZ Dnepr did not. Military requirements are expensive so a Dnepr cost twice as much as a Ural, which was why the Soviets built two versions of the same basic motorcycle.
