I'm very late but here: V asks if time can change everything Things that come, things that have been If black can turn to white and then black again And if you take location into account in that case, are we in the right location And will you take me with you no matter what happens But you have to look forward or look back Because right now you walk in the blind. In the blind And hey, we may well look back together But not before the time is right. The time is right. It's right and old memories win Back then when all ways joy and all was wine When my floral wreath was yours And time was always standing still And the moon stared us into the ground with its look We used to live in the country it to an hour to get to the city Oh, what a sight But hey, we may well look back together But not before the time is right. The time is right Hold my hand tight, dad, take one step at a time and then we'll walk as long as there's still air in my balloon then we'll find your brother, and before the night is over no old thoughts are bad But Violeta. There's something you should know. Your mother She used to blow up over nothing Beatrice has just gunpowder. She has no fuse Oh but Violeta. If you, since you are her flesh and blood Feel your blood boiling because of a wrong word don't drink vodka then, V, just promise me promise me Don't drink vodka when your blood is boiling Violeta But actually, you're more like me than like your mother Your blood never starts to boil She is one, we are two It's true that you've got her smile Which is nice But your heart is mine She got hers, and we have one But never, never drink vodka Violeta.
Background of the song from the Kaizer fan page "Father and daughter are out in the big world after having run from home seven years ago. Life on the run has become everyday life. The two are still getting along pretty well, but Violeta started to ask more questions about the past, the present, and the future. She is now 14 years old and tries to form a clearer picture of who she is, where she comes from, and what awaits her later in her life. She is confused, gets mixed signals, and feels a constantly stronger connection to her mother. At the same time, Kenneth sticks to his version of Beatrice as crazy, and he feeds Violeta with warnings. Like, for instance, that she must never touch the vodka that her mother drank and that ruined her. Kenneth receives a letter that he hides from Violeta, but Violeta is familiar with the content anyway. Kenneth's brother, Corvino, has been released from prison, and now he wants to meet up. Violeta realizes that this has to do with her, that she is involved, but she doesn't fully understand how ..."
Very, *very* late to the party, but Janove, the lead singer of the band, has 4 solo albums post-Kaizers which are all fairly similar if you're interested. Artisten & Marlene is brilliant but more general rock in terms of the style, while Det Sorte Karneval is basically a spiritual successor to the band in almost every way.
+martin falcon I know right! It's hard though if you come from the states. Tough to get a hold of anything from them without jumping through a few hoops!
Joshua Howard I'm a pretty big audio snob and it's really hard for me to accept owning music that is not CD quality (CDs have audio rendered at 1411 kbps which is much higher than any streaming MP3s). I know the difference in what you can hear is minimal but that's just the way it is for me...it's the principal of the matter. Anyway, I do in fact have their entire catalog on CD with the exception of Vare Demonaer (which was a very limited run on CD). It took me several years but I managed to get everything eventually.

@@system-ox2eq I think Mr. Kaizer is Kenneth's father and then Violeta's grandfather, we see the gas mask in the music video for Begravelsespolka where it seems Kenneth (played by Janove) throws the gas mask into the grave
can someone please explain the video to me? because all I'm seeing is a child getting kidnapped by a pimp and I'm not seeing the beauty the rest of you are...
It's all part of a bigger story about some girl called Violeta, I think. I just know that all of these songs and music videos are different parts of one story you have to piece together or something.

So it's about one familiy Kenneth, the father, Violeta, the daughter and Beatrice, the mother. Also Corvino, Kenneths brother, but he's not that important in the story. Beatrice is "crazy", or at least Kenneth claims so. Beatrice says she has supernatural powers. She also means that Violeta has inherited these "powers". (We actually never get to know who's right or wrong, as all the songs are different views from Violeta, Kenneth and Beatrice. When Violeta is seven, Kenneth runs away from Beatrice, and travels across the world by boat to escape the problems back home. In Singapore, when Violeta is 14, Kenneth realizes that Violeta is more alike Beatrice than he knew, and that she too is "crazy". Kenneth and Corvino plan to sell Violeta at the black market to avoid having to deal with her being crazy, too. But Violeta runs back home to Beatrice.
I don't understand a single word, but I love how it sounds! This band is amazing!
It's Norwegian but even in Norwegian it is sometimes a complete mystery as to what the hell they're saying Hahaha
Its worth checking the lyrics for translation, their lyrics tell a story that they are working on turning into some sort of production.

I am quite aware that he's one of the band members...specifically the pianist....but still!
He's probably Kenneth, the other main character from the Violeta, Violeta trilogy.
He's shown many times because Helge used to wear a gas mask a lot.

the guy playing the piano is the guy with the mask
Is the video supposed to look choppy or is my internet connection just that shitty?
This band is so silly I wish I didn’t discover them so late though ☹️
❤️😀
The guy playing the piano looks like a robot when playing it.
