I like the fact that u mention the other guitar parts ! The recording aspect, there’s definitely a difference. That’s the true difference between guitar teachers. Yes it does matter ! Thks.
Dude, nearly 200 thousand views and barely 1300 likes? That's so mean! And I love your explanation, it's so clear. Thanks from Europe, keep up the great work.
I was just checking this song out since Stephen Stills wrote it, recorded it on December 5th, 1966, with a December 23rd release as a single for Buffalo Springfield. It was a pretty fast recorded & released song as far I can I'm concerned & may be one of the fastest ones to be written, scratch that, I meant recorded & released within a month, 19 days to be correct. I figured that the record company could see it would probably be well received & ready for Christmas, as one of my generations rock & roll anthems, which is was & has been for many many years. So thanks for this lesson. Although I never tried playing it, Stills as from CS&N, are one of my favorite bands, just as they're 3 of my favorites in my solo artists list. Actually CSN&Y qualify as a band & the 4 of them in my solo artists list. I'm late to this posted video but thanks again Carl..... Dan
Great lesson, straight and to the point. I would only add - mention the chords behind he solo. We know it's E and A like the verse but beginners might not recognize that
Sorry to bother you with a request, but I just saw The Kenny Wayne Sheperd Band and would really like to learn Blue on Black. I love your videos and think you could make a good lesson on it. Thanks!
@@rmg3red17 this is correct. Check out the isolated parts on UA-cam. It's quite a dissonant chord. The C and/or A7 may sound correct on its own, but it's because of the bass, which I believe plays a C over that chord, though the bass line changes throughout the song and may play different notes. There's also a third chord being played after the A on the final few verses. That one may actually be an A7, but at times it sounds like the Bb dim7 again, or A/G or something. Edit: also, the intro of E-A may actually be E-Asus2. Unless I'm mistaken, I hear an open B string in the second chord.
The chord is actually a Bb dim7. During the final chorus, the other acoustic guitar walks down from G-F#-to open E on the first string during this chord on the words 'goin' down'. I incorporate this part into my strumming using my pinky when we play this in our band. There's a few things that aren't correct here, particularly the strumming pattern for the second acoustic guitar, but I've yet to see this played correctly anywhere.
I'm trying to learn this simple song but I can't get to the truth easily. There are different takes on what to play at the chorus. As I watch Stills play this song live it seem clear that there is no C" chord. It's some version of a B flat dim...? The problem with that is that singing harmony to that chord doesn't sound right. Anyone know the truth?

I’ll need to watch it at least 14 times and can only click the Like once. 🤔 Is that what’s happening?
Nice straight-forward lesson on "For What It's Worth". Thank you!

Do you know if the song as played by Buffalo, has a push strum?

Hello, can you do Buffalo Springfield- Mr. Soul Lesson (PLEASE)
in the Chorus, i´m playing a C Major instead of a A7. it sounds more Powerfull in my Opinion, even it is not right.
sorry, thats Not true. I play the chorus with: E, D, C, A, E
I’ll try that out
Try a Bb dim7. That's the actual chord that's being played. Nobody gets this right.

3:33 it's not an A7, it's an A# dim7. Listen to the recording and try it.
