If you think Rammstein sounds heavy on their albums. You gotta go see their live show. I just saw them few weeks ago and damn... Their riffs slap even more and sound even more heavy.
I feel like some of the examples would be: I. Tune To Drop B or Drop A. II. Allow some slightly silenced spaces for the guitars to breathe. (EG: The Intros of Surfacing, Before I Forget and The Blister Exists). III. Focus on just the 2 Main Strings most of the time. (EG: There’s a tutorial of Gray playing Duality and he does not go beyond the second string F-Sharp). IV. Do High Fretboard Bass fills on the ending beats before heading into another bar. (EG: Left Behind is filled with numerous high Fretboard fills). V. Create Riffs for the Lead Guitars to follow. (EG: On “Surfacing” Paul creates the riff for the breakdown section before the guitars follow) VI: Allow for some space in the intro of the song before jumping in. (EG: Liberate and Prosthetics). That’s the examples I can think of at least.
@@ElliYeetYTWell on surfacing He goes to the B(3rd String) in one Part I think . Also in disasterpieces I think He does eine high nice fills. I also remember that He used Sometimes chrords. But yeah Most of the time He only used the First 2 Strings
The lyrics are typically sparse but not simple. Lindemann's way with words is one of the best aspects of their music. He's a clever lyricist. But musically, yes, they know the fine art of making a lot out of a little.
That tank comparison is 100% accurate. Needless to say I added some more Rammstein tunes to my playlist. Great video as always dawg. A bass player I’d reccomend for a future video in the series is Chris Barker of Anti-Flag. He’s more in the vein of Matt Freeman & Mike Dirnt as he’s a very melodic player in punk rock, with a killer tone to boot. He’s played with them since their second album (so 12/13 of their albums total), so there’s plenty of material to look into for it. Plus, I saw them live with in Feburary (and I have a chance to see them again in December), and he’s absolutely amazing live. Playing killer basslines while running around all over the place with his stage antics, all while doing backing vocals & not missing a single fuckin note. One of the best bands I’ve seen live for sure.
I’ve asked this before but I’d love to see a video on Les Claypool from Primus or Shavo Odadjian of System of a Down, and I’d also like to throw in Tom Araya from Slayer (because I can’t remember if you’ve done him yet), Jason “Cone” McCaslin of Sum 41 and Jonathan Gallant of Billy Talent
Awesome. I've always liked Rammstein and the industrial/metal mixes of the 80s/90s. I hope this leads to videos on white zombie and NIN next. Thanks again for what you do, Paul
I'm guessing you're fairly young. Back when they were new/current, pretty much every band chasing after that Oomph sound in the early '90s was labeled that. After it garnered international mainstream attention, people took to calling it industrial because of the similarities with Ministry and NIN and basically enough time passed that everyone now just uses the term industrial to refer to "any kind of rock/metal with synths in it".
@@vladv5126 so what are you saying after all? And what do you consider "fairly young?" I just interpret entertainment media by the international perspective and distance myself from trends from Germany, because they/ "we" tend to try to give things new names to label them innovative. Hi! Genuine question here, because I hear "Rammstein doesn't have guitar solos" a lot: Are Richard's dominant guitar parts in for example 'Heirate mich', 'Rein raus', 'Adios', 'Donaukinder', 'Zerstören', 'Liebe ist für alle da', 'Weißes Fleisch' and so on not considered proper guitar solos? I'm asking because I really don't know so please don't hate on me 😅
I like his playing style , simple but effective. But if you get time to shine , you use the moment to its fullest . I would like too see about the Slipknot bassit paul gray and alexandro venturella. Alex has some really nice parts on the last albums. With paul while often following most of the time the guitars , he has also his moments to shine. On their first album mfkr he has some really coll parts where the bass is the main Attraction of the song.
hey you could make a video about Brian Cook (Botch, These Arms Are Snakes and Russian Circles) Even if it's not the best known, it would be cool ! Anyway, great job these videos 👌
Ich glaube außerhalb von Deutschland hat sich das noch gar nicht rum gesprochen. Nicht mal irgendwelche Kommentare unter irgendwelchen englischen Reaktionen, oder sonst was. Die wissen das schlicht nicht.
Hey, a small note, the band and especially the front singer seems to be quite problematic. At the moment, more and more young women and girls share their experience of being drugged and being forced to s*xual activities with Till Lindemann. I don't know if it's a great time to promote this band, even if it might have nice bass style.
The source and the confirmation of the allegation? Oh, you don't have it - so yeah, it's better for you to say something that all the media says without any clearly evidence and without a properly investigation of the allegations.
Still, allegations. Allegations against Till Lindemann only. Innocent until proven otherwise. So why should someone like Paul refrain himself from talking about the bass in the music from Rammstein? I don't get it.

Their bass was LOUD when I saw them last year. Absolutely amazing! Listening to their music on your phone isn’t the full experience at all.
His tone is fantastic.
He knows how to make things sound good.
Please do Paul Grey from Slipknot. Love this series and keep up the good work!
I'd love to see that. Paul is very underappreciated.

They do have a handful but it's not like Megadeth where lead guitar is a focus of the music.
They have a few, but only about 1-2 per album, sometimes not even that many.
