The duluxo goes faster on the ground when you aren't in hovermode
You accelerate faster in hover mode so what you should do is start in hovermode, hit top speed then go back to regular car mode.

The armor difference makes sense in terms of logic. The Toreador must be able to survive underwater where the water pressure is immense, of course it will outclass deluxe in that department. If you drive deep enough down with stromberg/toreador, the car will eventually implode because of the pressure (it happens to every submarine, but not sure bout the kosatka)

Deluxo: I can fly, can YOU fly?
Toreador: Fly home buddy.
Overall the Toreador may be better, but the Deluxo's flight ability still makes it incredibly useful to have. After all, speed doesn't count for much if you have to follow roads or deal with terrain and your rival doesn't. The Deluxo might not be the fastest thing in the air, but being able to just go in a straight line from a to b counts for a lot.
I prefer the Deluxo for most missions...in solo or non-griefer sessions where you don't have to worry too much about heavy weapondry. Against other players, yeah I'll want something that can take a few rockets. Plus it's nice for cayo heist preps since it can be stored and deployed from the sub.
I conpletely destroyed two deluxos with a sparrow. About 100k lost but totally worth it.
With the Sparrow you are much faster and its cheaper

Ima noob and I just bought my first airborne vehicle so I think it kinda makes the deluxo's purpose completely irrelevant than, but I still want it one day since it IS a 2 seater and I see that as relevant. Plus it looks fool.

With Deluxo you neet to take into consideration that its fastest travel mode (aside from freefall) is its standard wheeled mode. Deluxo has basically three modes - standart wheels offer full speed and least maneuverability, since it behaves just like normal car (it cannot be considered supercar by any means), hover mode on ground or water, which is slower than wheels, but has excellent maneuverability and ability to both quickly change vectors move to whichever direction regardless of where it is facing, and flight mode with same advantages as hover, but with added verticality, which is however offsetted by lowest speed of all modes.

I just like the fact its a flying car its badass idc about the speed personally
I bought the toreador yesterday and sold it yesterday 😂 none of my fights end up in the ocean but I still managed to kill an apc in it. But then today I bought the deluxo, got in a huge war on the beach with tanks, b11s, oppressors, and an avenger and I killed every single one of them in the deluxo except for the avanger. The missile resistance was nice in the toreador but everything else I prefer the deluxo

Deluxo's pretty good at dogfighting if used properly as its limited missiles have greater accuracy. Toreador on the other hand is more of a utility vehicle that can be quite useful at times with infinite missiles, good capacity and the HMG. It swims too.

i like both, now i use the toreador for the most part mainly because that boost feels incredibly good to use, but also for its armour and guns of course. the deluxo is always useful for many things

I chose the deluxo, it's so satisfing to use, the hover mode, the flying.

Just bought a toreador today and im in love, the boost is amazing, you can pretty much maintain 145 mph, the rockets are super accurate and are infinite unlike the deluxo, plus you have to pay for guns on the deluxo when the toreador already comes with them, only thing better about the deluxo is it can fly but with how great the boost is, i think it matches out.

That speed test is so inaccurate, the DeLorean can go faster than 150 mph if it goes with its wheels down
still took delorean 18 secs with wheels to finish in the upgraded race vs the toreador taking 12 secs with its boost

Tbh both of these vehicles are great! The deluxo is better for getting around the map and for missions while the toreador is better for pvp fighting off oppressors and better in free mode. I personally prefer the deluxo because I like the fact you can fly around the map and I like how it’s a good contender against oppressors but I’m definitely saving up all my cash to get the toreador ASAP.

I just feel like the car going into the water is so satisfying compared to flying. People are so used to crashing their cars in the water and destroying it. Just going into the water and watching the Toreador transform into a sub is so dope. Deluxo has its pros but that Toreador is A. Faster and B. Can take more damage. Team Toreador all day

How is a light piece of metal designed to fly in the air supposed to take more than one rocket and have more than twenty missiles. The better armor and extra missiles would add way too much weight to fly, although I guess this game is already unrealistic because you can carry 2 tons of gold and even swim with it, so why not.

1 homing rocket vs 6? Plus toreador has unlimited missiles. Only thing deluxo has on it is a little better tracking and it can fly everything else toreador is better.
Hell no. A deluxo explodes with one missile, the toreador doesn't. Deluxo can't lock well on vehicles on the ground, toreador can lock well vehicles on the ground and vehicles in the air. As you see it's pointless to use a deluxo in 2021, it's way more convenient to buy a toreador or a opressor Mk2 if you're a cargo griefer.
deluxo is def worth it bc it makes cargo or overall any mission easier bc its controls are easy to control unlike helicopers and planes and its also very fun to use especilly against griefers bc of the missile accuracy

They should make it so that you can combine the Deluxo, Stromberg and Toreador to make a Torluxberg or something, you have to have an Auto Repair Shop, have all the vehicles and it cost 2m to combine them, it should be able to Boost, Fly, Go Under water, Have 15 Deluxo Rockets and Stromberg machine guns and get destroyed after 10 Homing Rockets and 3 RPGS

Toreador hands down. And here's why I think so.👇
The Toreador has unlimited rocket's, the Deluxo don't it has a 30 capacity. The Toreador is faster than the Deluxo and can not only swim in and under the waves, it can also engage targets while doing so. The Deluxo can fly but its slow as hell in the air imo, and vulnerable from below and above by faster vehicles such as the MkII Broomstick or the Buzzard. Toreador has boost capability, the Deluxo don't. The Toreador has livery options, the Deluxo last time I checked only has paint options. The Toreador is tougher than the Deluxo and therefore a safer bet for survival. You can or you could take the Toreador on heists, you cannot take the Deluxo as far as I'm aware. At the end of the day the stats speak for themselves and the Toreador is the safest bet. I have both vehicles and tbh the Deluxo is a special kinda unique car but for survival alone I would go for the Toreador. The Toreador takes six homing missiles or two RPG rocket's before becoming a smoking ball of fire and wreckage, the Deluxo isn't as tough. The Deluxo is a real cool car but the Toreador is imo better. To shake off a 5 star chase you only have to dump yourself into the sea and go MIA in the Toreador but with the Deluxo police helicopters will catch up to you in the air so you have to be a little more creative with maybe tunnels or hiding spots as anywhere in the open will cost you more trouble with a 5 star wanted level. One of the best weaponized cars in GTAVO is the Toreador.
Dont forget Toreador doesnt appear on map as a special vehicle so you can troll people.
Some may say the deluxo is better but inside we all know we would prefer to have the toreador

Deluxo: good for missions and getting around the map faster.
Toreador: good for freemode PvP, especially against Opressor MK2's.
I'd say the Deluxo has a lot better matchup against Opressors

i have both of them but i truly love the deluxo, been with me since it first came out and in combat you can easily twist in air vs oppressors hydras and everything, toreador just stays on ground and water, not much use
I agree with you and I have them both too. They are both a lot of fun to drive but deluxo is a lot more helpful.
Toreador is great as a car for heists
Because remember: you can't use the deluxo in heists
Also toreador is good for Cayo perico preps, although the sparrow is just as good and cheaper
But if you want something for say... headhunter where you have to kill several NPCs in places a normal car can't go the deluxo is better. or an oppressor but that's basically the same thing
Now if you want a PvP battle with someone that has accurate homing missiles and you're using a deluxo it's basically a kamikaze mission, you get blown up, they get blown up.
So if you can have both, get both

The deluxo obviously since it can actually counter the oppressor mk2 because it has a low hit box in the rear and an invisible wall under it to protect it frm missiles but this hit box and invisible wall can be tricky
