I thought I was alone and overreacting when I repeated those last two minutes of episode 7 like a 100 times. Glad to have found this music and all of your comments with it. When you compress many great flashbacks with good music into few seconds, what a powerful thing it becomes. Moment of silence for those who haven't found it yet.
I started tearing up when this came on. When Mike says , "if you dont wanna play that way... dont play that way. " The guy played the game with a passion and commitment and such competitive nature to do ANYTHING to win. He is not only the greatest in basketball but the greatest athlete we have ever seen. Period. Thanks for the memories Mike.
When I heard this during the documentary, I stopped and stared with teary eyes, like how inspiring. What an era to be a witness to. The music really captured that segment. Summed up Michael's thoughts and feelings about what he wanted for his teammates and himself. Leadership by example!
Amen guys. My eyes teared and I tensed up watching this. That last part of this song while Jordan talked about how he was the way he was I ready to run through a wall. Didnt think it would have hit me that hard.
As someone who has never seen a match of basketball in his life nor has he seen any single video of MJ, this documentary not only over-exceeded my expectations but has went down, in my opinion, as one of the greatest documentaries these eyes have seen. Without question, the greatest sports documentary. MJ is one of the greatest athletes not only in basketball, but in any sport.
The look in the eyes of the greatest athlete to ever live after suffering major injury. knowing that he’d have to take the biggest risk of reinjuring his foot and in turn destroying his career. The look after losing to the Pistons again... and Again. The pain, the agony of defeat, and yet the determination to overcome and win at all costs. The man, the legend Michael Jordan. No better music could’ve played at this time. The best part of the series 🙏 😭 🥇 🏆 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
I probably played that scene from Episode 7 when the guitar came in at 3:46 50 times. Easily one of the most inspiring things ever. I still remember being covered in goosebumps the very first time I saw it.
You can literally hear a story of living a life full of highs and lows through this song. Man's challenge to overcome the obstacles he sees around him, and most importantly, the challenge to overcome himself, an obstacle that he cannot see immediately, that only with time can he truly be able to find it and overcome it .
I stare deep into the floor, spacing out. Yet, I’m visualizing my future greatness, wondering if it’ll come, yet having enough confidence in yourself to know it may indeed come.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we have our soundtrack to greatness. The beauty of it, but also the price and the loneliness of it are all so beautifully encapsulated in this track. The memories of his Airness bring tears to my eyes every time I listen to this....
P.S. after watching the end of episode 7 i just got stuck. I could not go on and watch Episode 8 for another 2 weeks... I just kept repeating the last scene over and over. Man, I am sooo fortunate to have been a witness to MJ's greatness in my youth. And now to see him talk about the game brings me right back, and I cry.....
I've been fortunate, and blessed to have watched the Bulls win championships in the 90s. I'm a diehard Chicago Bulls fan!! And I'll be one till the day I die!!! I'm sooo glad I own the Blu Ray box set of The Last Dance. Arguably my favorite sports documentary of all time!!!!
This song just evokes some much emotion from me. I think all the bad memories all the struggles and then I get super motivated because I think about the things I’ve overcome and how I’m still here and the future I look forward to building. Such a beautiful piece of art.
5 mondays (here in Philippines) I am emotional is an understatement. Thank you Michael Jordan! No superlatives, just MJ will do- greatness and whatever it takes motto! We, millions of fans all around the world, you saved us again for a bit of joy, well, for us great joy seeing you again and the team through the series! The songs were superb and episodes 7 and 8 were legendary! We were lucky before and always, and also this generation can finally see you for who you really are- a winner!
Indomitable spirit. And that 2:00 mins captures his heart and lifetime struggle to elevate himself and those around him. MJ is the greatest to have played, full stop. Epic documentary.
@@mitchbade19 Listened to this about five times now, and I got to say, this cover/ remix takes the song to a new level. Episode 7 ending was just brilliant. Break!!!
Seriously one of the best things ever. Music makes movies. Shrek, a knights tale, a good soundtrack can take something to another place. The music in this documentary matched mike’s intensity. Sound of silence became even more beautiful
During the last 3 minutes of episode of 7 is a memory me and my son will always have and share he is 5 and to him Michael jordan is the greatest of all time and he thinks kobe is his little brother we probably watch it once a month the whole 10 episodes in a weekend
Thank you MJ!! Only hard work counts. Its hard work that makes your dreams come true, its hard work that will get you where you want to be. Thank you for showing us that. You played the game that way. Everybody can play the game that way. „If you dont wanna play that way, dont play that way“.
Last Dance will go down as the most watched documentary in history after all is said and done. And this track will be forever remembered along with it. ❤️
Those five weeks in 2020 watching this documentary is something I’ll Never forget. In a time of great uncertainty it reminded us all of what you can aspire to be. What true excellence looks like. One of the reasons many including myself believe MJ is the goat is not just what he did but how he did it. With artistry we have yet to see replicated, class that I’m afraid we’ll never see again and an elegance to his game fueled by a burning desire to succeed which again we will never see again.
Totally agree with others - heard this track on ep 7 and it stayed with me! Beautifully haunting and captures the fine line between success and failure, of respect and hard work, of winning and losing… So happy it’s here for everyone to reflect on 🙌🏽
Extended mix please because the emotions captured by MJ don’t fit in just the two last minutes. Maybe one of the best scenes in sports documentary ever and music was a part of it.
The NBA in the Jordan era is honestly the best basketball, competitive, physical, emotional and amazing teams that played year in and out. Nobody liked each other when they played. You watch todays NBA and you don’t have that respect and competitive for the game of basketball. Everyone thinks about three pointers. Players making insane amount of money instead of giving everyone a reasonable amount of money on a contract that would honestly make them play harder if they were making less. Everyone is laughing and friendly with the opponents. You touch someone with your finger now and it’s a foul. I understand the game has evolved but damn what a huge change it’s become.
The man was relentless in his pursuit of greatness NEVER cheated the game gave everything he had to the game fans coaches and teammates and all he asked was for his teammates to love the game as much as he did, that’s a leader that’s the GOAT that’s why he’s loved and respect by his peers and people every where
This guy is the Goat no question IMO he just had the grit and determination needed to get it done with the team, I grow up watching him and I love that I can be biased and still be right
