He is an eminent historian and archaeologist. His TV history shows are always interesting, revealing and entertaining. An excellent presenter and a Hero of Common Sense. 👏👏👏

The whole point is to drive poor people off the roads, reduce the ability to earn, reduce the freedom to travel. They want to own everything and rent it back to us. We already rent our music, phones, cars, tv channels... they hate the idea of poor people owning something and making it last.

Laws governing the ordinary people became ever harsher, and In the end the ruling senatorial class even lost control of the army, preferring an ‘imported’ barbarian one over a truly Roman one, and the state collapsed. The ‘imported’ army and their co-nationalists from outside of the empire then divvied up the state amongst themselves, and the rest is the Middle Ages.
I would love to go for a pint with Neil, an intelligent guy from humble beginnings who worked his a$$ off to get where he is, but coming from a council estate, he knows what a real working man is, and how hard they struggle to bring up their families, He understands the priorities of the working classes, He is fully aware, even though he is not a politician, of the effects of the actions taken by our governments on the population over covid, and on top of all that he's an Archaeologist. I could learn so much from him, he is a fascinating man that I would love to discuss many issues with.

He makes a very important point about voting. I, too, have never voted for the winning party in a single election in Scotland in my entire life. I'm 50. We have to accept the outcome whether we like it or not. Devolution has been a disaster in Scotland. The Scottish parliament is nothing more than a forum for agitators and idiots. 80% of MSPs are unemployable. As are 95% of the SNP's MPs. The whole electoral map in Scotland needs reform. There are far too many politicians for a region of 5 million people. It's insane. And Oliver is right about the salaries in the public sector in Scotland. and it's only gonna get worse.
