Take heart, my British cousins. Our founding Fathers weren't stupid men. They new that something like this would eventually happen. It's human nature. That's why they constructed our constitution the way they did. We Americans are hardly finished fighting. 🇺🇸🇬🇧

It is America that is the over riding worry at the moment.
If Trump get's conned out of this election, as I fear he could. Your constitution is no longer safe. IF the Dems get in this time, you can be sure they will try to rig things. Trump will be gone and the Republicans will get nowhere near power again for some considerable time.
I'm dearly hoping you are right Allison.

People have no idea what they speak of unless they've been there and travlleed around a bit - it's shocking how far the reality is from the image they've portrayed in their movies. No surprise at all about T-rump and his ideas being popular. What has been a surprise is how their system was so easily dismantled from within; openly and by using the very laws they put in place to protect it.

Most impressed by Neil Oliver as always! I have spent a few holidays in the US and the people outside the big cities are the most generous and honest people I have met!

US elections had no hope even well before Trump.
If someone has to wait 12 or more hours to cast their vote, something is wrong!
Here in the UK, if it takes more than 15 minutes during peak times we're mad!
Americans need to get mad at the local governement, demand more polling stations and massively improve the efficiency of voting!

Absolutely. That guy knows nothing about technology - or at least he hasnt worked in British industry and lost his job sometime(s) in the last 40 years. Many high tech or mid tech industries in UK have basically vanished.

The sensible counter to "I am offended" is "That's nice." or something similarly sarcastic.
If the fauxfence is particularly egregious high-level mockery should be employed.

My mum used to say: the English don’t know how to cook, they just bake. The Welsh are very unfriendly and the Scots are mean and drunks! So what! I’m Scottish but we just laughed - even at ourselves and so did everyone else up and down the country. Comedians would constantly make jokes about various parts of the UK and everyone thought their jokes were funny! What has happened to our British sense of humor!

it was more than 1 in 4 who worked for the stasi to inform on their family and neighbours Neil, they saw this after the wall came down when the East Germans could then look at all the records, Gauck was the man behind that, so they all found out sometimes that fathers were informing on their son and vice versa etc. there was a lot of bad feeling about it
