Romantic Outlaws is one of my favourite nonfiction books ever! I absolutely adore Mary Shelley. I haven't read any of the other books you mentioned, they're all going to my TBR list. Thanks for this video😊
I just finished Romantic Outlaws and it’s soooo good! My copy of it is so well worn and It is my favorite biography. I am not much for biographies or nonfiction but I was reading the penguin classics Frankenstein and I read Charlotte Gordon’s author note and fell in love with her writing style. Immediately bought her book and never looked back. I adore both Shelley and Wollstonecraft! In fact, they have inspired my writings and encouraged me! So much love for this book!
"So we can credit sci-fi to the mind of a teenage girl, which is just absolutely incredible to me" 🙌🏻👏🏻 There's a new biography that just came out last month that seemed intriguing to me if you haven't come across it, yet: Mary and the Birth of Frankenstein by Anne Eekhout

I have, Romantic Outlaws, I wonder if it was because you recommended it previously but I have not got round to it yet. Now I really must after this very inspiring video.
I love this Jen ! I think you only person that has got me into Mary Shelly what I need to read about her and her life . Loved this video and I need to read something about her . I have romantic outlaws but havnt gone around to it .❤thanks grace
Thanks for this informative discussion. I especially loved seeing your edition of the journals. I know that I wouldn’t read it, but it’s interesting to know about. I’ll look out for Fiona Sampson too. (The phrase “Tangled Lives” makes for a great subtitle on that last book.)
I haven't read any of the books you mentioned, other than Mary Shelley's "FRANKENSTEIN". After I read it I came to the conclusion (right or wrong), that, based on "Frankenstein" alone, she was the early 19th centrury version of Stephen King. Nevertheless, it was a good read.
Great video! I read and loved Romantic Outlaws but can you believe I have never read Frankenstein - shameful! Every time I hear you talk about Percy Shelly it reminds me of the character Elizabeth Shue played in the movie The Saint. Have you seen it? If not it's worth a watch just to catch the Shelley references lol.
I was going to say thank you so much Jennifer, until I discovered that you think I'm a better speaker than writer. Ouch! The book is the length it is, btw, because that was the length commissioned.
Romantic outlaws was so good I couldn’t put it down

I have that on my tbr! I'm so excited to get to it!
I just read and finished In Search of Mary Shelley and really like it, but I was surprised by it's length being so short.

Good call. That's how I felt. Good writing, but also contrived melodrama.
WOW....your videos are so valuable 🙏🤌🌟 thank you for this!
I've got to read the Daisy Hay book, as I loved her 'Dinner with Joseph Johnson'.
