Native Persimmons and The Best Time to Pick Them!

American persimmon trees (Diospyros virginiana) can be one of the most delicious fruits or one of the worst! The timing is everything. As long as the fruit is ripe you will really enjoy these native fruits. When is the best time to pick persimmons? When they are fully ripe and falling off the tree. To grow persimmons from seed they will need to be cold stratified. Usually a normal winter outdoors will be enough to trigger good germination.
