Way to heavy on the beans. They're mean to be a THIN layer only to glue the Tortilla to the hard shell.
I LOVE THE DOUBLE DECKER TACO! I used to eat these all the time in the 1990's! :) I did speak to Taco Bell Corporate a few months ago and told them to bring it back! Glad they listened! This has not been on the menu for decades!
You have to get the Double Deck SUPREME. Your mistake my man!
Good morning Vampire Brah. It's always a good day when I see you eating actual food instead of devouring the souls of the innocent to maintain your youthful appearance.
🙂3:18 That's not bad looking I have to be good and inebriated to eat it but it will do for a late night.
Taco Bell either forgets to give you your sauce completely or gives you enough sauce packets to last the entire year.
We had Taco Bell last night for the first time in over 20 years. I put in for 10 packets of Diablo sauce on the online order. We didn't get a single packet even though listed on the receipt.
yes, i order 2 tacos on my app and order 2 sauces and they give me ten sauces lol.
I always say I need 10. Then I count them
i would just say can i get so and so sauce, i might have forgot to say something, or whatever, at the pick-up window. but it just depends on any number of things
Keep your extra sauces or 41 sauces packets fit into
a clean, empty Franks hot sauce 5 ounce bottle.
I wash it out, soak of the label and use one empty sauce
packet cut to only the type of sauce and tape it with clear tape to the bottle.
A marketing trick to sneak in price increases with less backlash is to remove the item and then reintroduce it.
Really, dude?@@goodnightmunchie

Why pay more for the same quality. Not me. That’s why I to stopped eating fast food.😊
Taco Bell for me suffers from two devastating problems. 1. Poor customer service like getting the order wrong and 2. Poor quality of the food. But a lot of fast food places have these two problems anymore. Add in their food prices being too high and you see a sharp decline in the industry.
☺ Wouldn't it make sense to pass on this and go for real Mexican food. Prices are going to be the same but you would get better quality 🌮🌮🌮
@@robertcuratolo5339 in lots of places taco bell is the closest thing to decent mexican food. very sad. dont know how taco bell even exists in the pacific southwest though
Every Taco Hell in my area has a line around it every evening of cars waiting in the drive thru. Why, I don't know.
The low quality food wouldn't be bad if the prices were 1/2 of what they currently are. $6 for a burrito supreme around here is insane.
.
Most fast food joints are suffering from clown world prices right now, but Taco Bell is actually still ( kind of) affordable if you go through their app. They've got some combos that aren't on the regular menu, including a $7 box that can have a Crunchwrap/Cheesy Gordita Crunch/Chalupa Supreme, a basic taco/burrito, a side and a drink. That's cheap enough that I'm still willing to ignore the subpar service
The bravery to eat tacos while in fine haberdashery is to be commended. I personally couldn't afford the dry cleaning. Reviewbrah is fearless.
this is a reply
That's LITERALLY the funniest thing I've heard all day! - And true! 🙂
THIS is the only upside of omitting the sauce
@@goodnightmunchie making America taste great again.
The problem with Taco Bell is that no one ever pretended it was actually good; it was cheap and filling. Now that it's no longer cheap, in addition to the fact that they're using beans as a filler for using less meat, is it really worth it anymore? I say no.
This is an accurate statement. 👆
I went to get a nachos bell grande, it had 90% refried beans and like 3 lil pieces of tomato. And they want over 10 bucks for it. Straight rip off.
Getting two dd tacos was my go to for a fast food meal because it's less than 650 calories. The price doesn't make sense anymore. I switched to the chalupa supreme back when they took it off the menu.
it was alot better back in the early 80s.
It's still comparably cheaper compared to McDonalds and other places
This blurs the line between a “taco” and a “torta” 😳😮
chocolate raiiiiiiiiiiiiin
Some stay dry and others feel the pain..
A Torta is a sandwich, which I refer to as a Mexican Sloppy Joe....
A "tacorta" 😯
Titans of this platform crossing paths.
When I worked at tacobell people would ask for the double-decker constantly despite it not being on the menu, so we would charge them for a crunchy taco, refried beans, and a tortilla. That rounded out to be about $2.50, so the DD is being upcharged up to $1.50 for seemingly no reason.
Wish my tacobell was this cool. I just get "LOL ITS NOT ON TEH MENU" like fuck off. I worked fast food too. We had items not on the menu. As long as you have the items in the store there should be zero issues. If someone wanted a turkey italino at subway, I'd happily give them the BMT with the ham replaced by the turkey like they requested and ring it out appropriately. Doesn't matter if its not on the menu. But the taco bell crews here suck, they fuck up simple orders, they always give you unfrozen drinks when you ask for frozen, they always forget the sauce 90% of the time and then the other 10% of the time they give you all the sauces you were supposed to get but now you don't need them. Its just never great.
I know I've probably said it before, but the biggest thing for me is the prices. When you could go there and get tacos for like 80 cents, and items like this were only like $1.30 or so, Taco Bell was a great place to eat. It's a problem with pretty much all fast food places these days too, the food just isn't worth the prices.
Ditto. Taco Bell used to be a weekly go-to of mine. But then they started axing off the 'nostalgic' items and raising prices and now I only go like maybe once a month, if that. I'd say more like once every 2-3 months. They're just too damned expensive. And besides, Double-Decker Tacos are easy to make at home and 10 times better.
Where I live (boise idaho) taco Bell is literally the one and only fast food place with genuine 1 dollar flat items still. Even the 2 dollar items are great value for the price. Del taco costs nearly double here for value menu items. I regularly get the potato soft taco for 1 dollar and the chipotle grilled chicken burrito for 2 dollars. It's the one fast food place that I don't need coupons for to get a really good deal.
You have to have the app or it’s way too expensive
Their menu used to be 3 categories, they even had a song on their commercials ".59, .79, .99"
I'm totally guilty of being on one side of the generational gap... when the double decker taco is considered "classic", I am like, "wow, really?". I see classic Taco Bell as the 1970s menu, Bell Beef Burger, The Enchirito, Cup of Beans, Beef Taco, Red or Green Bean Burrito, Bean and Cheese Tostada. Heck, the "classic" Burrito Supreme wasn't even around yet...
Time marches on! 🙂
I was there, man. Good times...
Remember the "Taco Light"?
Bell Beef Burger...?
@@zusk8556 was actually called the Bell Beefer. Basically a taco on a hamburger bun.
Always recommend going supreme on the double decker. The tomatoes and sourcream counter the bean dryness
Both of those things disgust me therefore you are wrong.

Just by looking at it I can tell it is an undercooked tortilla with a stale crunchy taco shell, cold lumpy refried beans, a teaspoon of beef, and shredded iceberg lettuce with unmelted cheese. Yum!!
Imagine if Taco bell offered a packet of sour cream with every item they sold. People would go crazy.
Agreed. Off the top of my head, I believe the only major chain that has packets of sour cream is Wendy’s, for their baked potato
That's just crazy talk right there. Lol. I'm kidding, that would be awesome but they'd probably charge like 2 bucks for it if they did.
Or Sriracha and/or a decent hot sauce like Louisiana hot sauce or Tapatio.
@@recyclecongressCholula, smoky chipotle style
You can order a side of sour cream.
This one looked about a week old before you even took a bite lol. But for the Double Decker, the Supreme version was definitely always the way to go (paired with Fire sauce).
My biggest complaint about taco bell is that they take away all the decent menu items. The current menu has half the items and almost twice the cost.
I'm from the middle of the country, Taco John's calls those the Taco Bravo. They're on the menu year-round! Delicious!
I miss the Enchrito. That thing was my Taco Bell food of choice. I had ordered it over the past 30 or so years, each time I went to Taco Bell. They took it away from me awhile back. I forgot about it/realized it was gone and gave up. I didn't even notice when they snuck it in and then promptly out awhile back. I would say removing it was a stupid mistake on their part.
Stay strong Dawg! 👍
I miss the quesarito. Why do they get rid of their most unique items? It's so stupid. :(
I miss the meximelts. Used to get them with steak instead of beef. Was my favorite item from taco bell.
YES!!! The Enchirito…. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙏🏻
@@scottreed991took the mexiwords right out of my mouth brother. Hot diggitydamn those toasted pico de gallo laden morsels are fuggin deeelicioso…
I remember back in the 70'sand early 80's Taco Bell used to be really Good, until PepsiCo bought them along with KFC and Pizza Hut and the quality and taste went downhill never to taste the same again.
I think Taco Bell relies a lot on their optional sauces. Sometimes, I crave a bean burrito or Baja Blast from them, but they've never been my go-to because they often get orders wrong, are overpriced, and are so absurdly busy despite the above that it's never a quick option either.
Your review was perfect. I always like to hear your takes. You are a LEGEND1
This makes me sad. I used to practically live off of these, back in 2008.
An order of two Double-Decker Tacos, a Caramel Apple Empanada, and a Strawberry Frutista Freeze would leave me full for a while, and well satisfied with the flavor, although I also added Fire Sauce most of the time.
The lack of meat, with the overwhelming amount of beans, really and truly disappoints me.
I literally only ate half of mine. It tastes like a worse version of a soft taco 😂
you have to get the double decker SUPREME my man
@@GEN_X_ this. Double decker taco by itself is garbage. Gotta get that sour cream and tomato, plus some mild/medium/fire sauce to keep it from being so dry and round it out. Also gotta eat it fresh before the crunchy taco softens.
OK, idiot, cool story.
Yes exactly! I have always gotten the double decker supreme since 1995! I have never ordered the double decker by itself. @@lk29392
@lk29392 that's idiotic lol
I admire your perseverance sticking with this decay state of fast food. You are appreciated.
It seems like they removed it, cheapened it, jacked up the price and reposted it to the menu.
If you get the build your own box in the app, the price is solid. DD taco isn’t an option tho, but the usuals are. $6 in my area with a drink.
Also, dude talks a lot and by the time he eats the food it’s probably cold lol. It would be better if he ate the food sooner. Still love the honest reviews tho.
NOTE: @TheReportOfTheWeek the double decker taco was removed along with the mexican pizza and other classics around 2020 due to covid supply issues they claimed. Not 2010s
It's been gone for quite some time, 2010 sounds about right. Maybe they brought it back temporarily and I missed it around 2020, that's possible.
"COVID supply shortages" . They also took items off the menu in the 2000s because of E-Coli. They never brought that back. They basically want to have four ingredients in different combinations and charge five times what it's really worth. Taco Bell falls only behind Burger King as the most despicable franchises around.
Are you going to travel to CosMc's to review them?
I’ve recently purchased a 7.5oz bottle of authentic Taco Bell fire sauce for when they forget the sauce. It’s been a lifesaver. More and more, fast food customer service has been lacking. How can they treat the one and only Reviewbrah like this? We must protect him at all costs ❤
It's like that now. I'm so full of rage I'm about to walk in and take a whole bucket of sauce packets and keep them in my car.
You know you could just quickly check the bag for the sauces before you drive off, problem solved. They can't move on to the next order until you leave.
@@CadgerChristmasLightShow Got it, keep asking for a simple request that could be right the first time. You're right, I should beg them to take my money for crappy service.
@@s7r49the bottles are made by Kraft, the packets don't say who makes them. But they are not the same. The packs are better.
But I don't have to check the bag for sauce. I have my large bottle of fire sauce :-) @@CadgerChristmasLightShow
The refried beans seem shittier/more liquidy than the old days. Maybe a little smaller overall? It was always fairly filling for one taco
After trying multiple TB locations near me several times each over the years I found the most consistent place and stick to it. I've enjoyed the double decker taco but I wish it was priced at like $2.50. Where I am, it is like $3.29. I always liked it, and it only has around 300 calories so its one of the healthier options too
Calories doesn’t equate to healthy it’s more to how filling it is
I used to eat taco bell regularly when they were cheap. Once they raised prices to absurd proportions for what they offered, i pretty much noped out of eating taco bell.
USED TO BE ON THE CRAVINGS MENU FOR $1.50
Sir, I've noticed your camera often struggles with its automatic exposure, and seems to default to some level of over exposure. Perhaps manually set the exposure ahead of time and let it stay?
Who remembers when they used to give you diced tomatoes.
I haven't had fast food for over a decade and I don't plan on eating it ever again but I LOVEEEE his reviews I never miss one 🤣
Two packs of fire sauce makes this taste a lot better. Go check under the seat of your car that’s where I keep my extra fire sauces
Smart!👍
Please convince them to bring back the Meximelt! Ty King of reviews!
I loved Meximelts!!!
Fast Food in 2023 is just a sad state of affairs. Pretty much every fast food joint across the board sells barely edible slop at very high marked up prices. There is no sense buying from them anymore as far as im concerned. I'd rather eat Chef Boyardee cold out the can.
The Double Decker has always been my favorite. Since they discontinued it, I've been hacking the Cheesy Gordita Crunch to create a reasonable facsimile. I'm looking forward to comparing the re-release of the OG to my hack. I agree with others; the Double Decker must be supreme.
Nice to have that Van Gogh in the back ground for the slower moments.
A double decker taco supreme by itself here in KC was $4.49 plus tax, so $5 for a taco. I can get a cravings box with three items, a Pepsi and cinnamon twists for $0.41 more....lol. That being said I did get one just for the heck of it.
It's also a taco that is basically a crumb of food overall.
Double decker tacos and chili cheese burritos after closing out the clubs on a Friday/Saturday night. Ahhh the memories
Review Brah, I appreciate your taking the hit for us by trying all these crappy foods over the years. Thank you!
Double decker is great probably my fav item at taco bell
I Love this crap
I remember there being cheese between the tortillas rather than beans. I also think it was a dollar the last time i ordered one.
I don't want one with beans.
I like refried beans but taco bell bean mush is not that.
taco bell is very hit and miss depending on who owns the location. There's no way you can ruin this. Everything they need to make this has existed at taco bell for as long as I've been alive. If you let it sit for too long though the inner shell becomes soggy which is no bueno. Another cool trick to do is order it with the dorito shell instead of the regular shell too.
The doritos shell slaps i wish they sell them in stores.
I like the idea of a Doritos double decker taco loco! Surprised Taco Bell hasn’t tried that.
The beans could be from a different supplier, too
@@UltimateInklingthey do sell them in stores. At least here in CA.
@@onliwankannoli yeah that'd be sick af lol

I wish they'd bring back their Fiesta Taco Salad. I LOVED that fried shell!
and the mexi melt.
When they discontinued it, I got into making my own. I build a couple smallish ones at a time, which is more than enough. If you store them right, you can fry some shells and finish them off in the oven. They can be kept for a few days and reheated in the oven and then filled in. Sometimes I'll stick one side higher than the other, then add shredded or ground turkey so it literally looks like a turkey salad.
THEY NEED TO BRING BACK THE DOUBLE XL GRILLED STUFFED BURRITO
"We have 6 ingredients, in which of the 38 ways would you like it presented to you today?" 🌮👀

Anyone else notice the $5 box has only 2 items & cinnamon twist instead of 3 items?
Can we all agree Baja Blast is the superior of all the Dews?
Never!
They know we want the nacho dorito shell supreme.. why they playin? 🤦🏻♀️
I love your reviews, I have never seen someone roast a company so hard yet so politely.
I love that the mediocrity disturbs you so much which it actually should especially considering the hype they put behind these items
Reviewbrah, you are amazing. I love your work - you help me keep going in this world!
I so miss the fast food of the 80's and 90's.
Rookie move not checking what they hand you before leaving lol. I can’t believe they charge you for it also F.
Had a few of these last night - "basic and unremarkable" pretty much sums it up. They would have been better if they were:
1. Fresher and warmer - the interior hard shell was super soggy.
2. Made with actual care - the bean distribution was terrible... big glob of it here... little smear there.
3. The beans had better flavor, somehow.
Taco Bell continues to dissapoint - truly a shadow of its former self (from when I was a kid, like 20-30 years ago). That's pretty much all fast food now, though.
The Double Decker Taco has been a favorite of mine since the 90s, but damn this thing should not cost almost $4.
They need to bring back the volcano burrito and XXL Chalupa
Volcano burrito came back a few months ago for a brief period. They need to bring back the Volcano nachos tho, that still hasn't made a comeback yet
You make me wish I had a car and money, Sir! - HAHAHA! 🙂
This man is the Walter Cronkite of fast food tacos.
The Mark Twain of fast delivery Tacos commentary; perhaps.
Noticed His 'Starry Night Cafe' in the backgound, nice...
Idec, I just had a DD taco again, and it was absolutely bussin. I was so sad when they took it off the menu, but it tasted just like I remembered 😭
Should've never left. The ingredients are ubiquitous.
Add nacho cheese tho!
I’ve had 4 of them already, probably get 2 more tomorrow.😊
Had ddsupreme tonight. Oh it was soon great to relive the memories of the past
Bussin? Good vibes? Was it mid? Bet. Grow up. 😊
All food has changed across the board. Something just isn't right.
One thing I appreciate about your reviews is that you always eat enough to give a fair assessment. Basically, I'm saying that Report of the Week is fair and balanced. Also digging the shirt collar; very dapper.
Eating 20 Doritos locos tacos on 🚽 because it saves me the trip walking back and forth** BACHELOR LIFE!!!! FREEDOMMM!!!!!!!!!
Review Brah is looking especially dapper today. ❤️ 👔
It's one of my favorites cuz you got the refried beans with it and didn't even have to pay back then.
Because that was the glue that held the soft taco to the hard shell.
Glad it's back I missed it I enjoyed the taste of having the soft shell and the hard shell together
I enjoy it, this is one of my classic favorites. They overpriced it though, you can literally buy 2 tacos for just a tiny bit more than 1 of these. This was supposed to be a reliable budget standby, they were on the $1 menu back in the day. I think given current menu pricing, adding it at the $2 price point would be ideal, but $2.50 would be reasonable considering a regular taco in my area is 1.69.
When the shredded chicken mini quesadilla and the spicy tostada were on the dollar menu, I would get one of each and then open up the quesadilla and put it filling side down on top of the tostada. Then I would close up the tostada box and flip it over, open it back up, and use a fork to break the tostada shell down the middle. Then fold it up into a taco shape and you are left with a $2 shredded chicken double decker taco of sorts.
Double decker has always been my favorite. It really is Christmas as Taco Bell. It's the perfect combo of flavor and texture.
Would probably be better with the Fire Sauce.
I got two of them last night. Chicken and steak. Personally shouldve got the ground beef but overall it was good!
What an evil corporation Taco Bell has become, for those of you who live near a Taco Casa, y’all are blessed
I totally agree with you about Taco Bell. I like them but some of the remixed items they pair their ingredients with can be bland. If they remix the right ingredients, the food tastes pretty good. I got a $2 burrito yesterday and they forgot the fire sauce. I almost couldn't finish it because without the sauce idk...but the flavors were different and better back then when they used pico and green onions and yeah ❤
Yes 1995 was when they introduced the Double Decker Taco
Review Brah, I thought that your rating of this item was fair, and perhaps a bit generous. I agree with your assessment of the Mexican Pizza, and will offer my own experience. I was so excited with it's return to the menu, and couldn't wait to try it, as it has always been a favorite of mine. However, as soon as I tasted it, I knew immediately that something was wrong. It had a faint chemical taste I couldn't identify that completely ruined the pizza. So much so that I haven't been back since. How could a franchise take a tried-and-true staple item and completely screw it up? One of the worst things that a fast food chain restaurant can do is to take the fun out of eating, and that's what Taco Bell seems to have done.
It was an up sale on the tostada. This was long before other menu items incorporated the tostada shell. Which may have been an item to cut to lower expenses. Otherwise, if dropping what amounts to being only a recipe without an addtional expense. That customers have known about for 30+ years is foolish.
They didn't make yours with love. Went at 11:00 for a double decker Supreme with Chipotle sauce. Slightly spicy beans (not hot, just flavorful).
Perhaps they sauced the beans too. Because taco bell ingredients should be the same regardless of location, and mine had a spicy flavor profile.
I remember eating these in 95, 96? Was cheap and filled me up. Used to get 5 for 10, 12 bucks I believe? Crazy times.
I used to get the double decker back in the day..along with my other usuals..chalupa, chicken quesadilla, and gordita crunches
@TheReportOfTheWeek I've noticed how some of these FF chains will totally be missing the mark so bad that I refuse to waste money on their trash. Only to randomly eat there months later to be shocked that the food quality has done a 180°. It's bizarre. I remember your video discussing just how bad this industry is with the food. I think they purposely lower the standards of food quality. I encourage you to keep on scratching at the surface. There's definitely something there. You're right above the target 🎯 just time to unleash the fury of ReviewBrah
So its a bean burrito by looking at the cross section.
Have a great Christmas bestie!! ❤💚🎄
Wow fast food is just gotten so bad! Its all terrible. You have to move up to Fast Casual now to get anything decent. Forget all the old fast food.
Sodium Bomb with dry beans and nasty tasting yellow cheese 😢
Why doesn’t ReviewBrah just review it in his car like before, instead of driving all the way home and the food getting worse. Bring car reviews back!
Tried one, the refried beans were so incredibly dry yet somehow managed to sog out the crunchy taco shell more than the beef
The "refried beans" at Taco Bell are made from a rehydrated dry powder that comes in a plastic bag. It's mixed with hot water and heated in a metal tray. It's really disgusting and the reason why I hate Taco Bell "refried beans". They are like bean paste.
I wish McDonald's would bring back the MC skillet Burrito but they never will lol
Taco Bell has been going downhill for awhile. They used to cook the beef in house, now it comes in plastic bags, precooked.
Taco Bell without the Fire Sauce?!?! NOOOOOOOO
Hopefully everyone has a good day. May you all be well. ❤
Be well citizen
I loved these first in 1998 I think but not for 4 bucks! WTactualF? They're good though. If TB returns the original fine shredded pre 1984 cheese I would smile, this current waxy cheese came out with the taco bell grande (80s giant taco). Good show man.
If you're reading this have a good 2024, be strong, keeping going! 🤙🏼
Same to you my friend
I agree with your review. Very fair assessment. Finding quality employees that will execute standards is getting hard these days. I ran a well known pizza establishment for nearly 15 years and I can tell you that products will suffer if they are not made to standard. For the price I expect more. The product appearance of this double decker taco clearly shows that it was not executed to standard. The flour tortilla was bent over on one side, and the taco shell looks like it broke already before you even could take a bite. Excellent review brah.......keep up the excellent work amigo
Love ya review brah.
I don't know how you didn't get sauce... Every time I tell them to give me like 2 sauces, these fools practically fill the rest of the bag with sauce packets.
Thanks for making me laugh
I'm definitely going to start adding Unremarkable into my vocabulary. You explained it almost with emotion instead of words
Not the fire sauce. Not the fire sauce! Lol
an employee "accidently" toasted the flour tortilla of my Double Decker. it made it much better, and that should be the standard for Double Deckers. I think it elevated it to that "remarkable" level you were wanting.
My taco bell is the one they film the commercials at and the food always looks good, or better than your taco bell at least lol.
Even though I do not like tacos (excluding chalupas and their Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos), burritos (excluding the once-sold bacon cheeseburger burritos), or refried beans I love your forthright reviews. Thanks.
