👨‍🔬 𝐀𝐎𝐏 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 🧪
Our Alpha Omega Program (AOP) students had an exciting excursion to the Scienceworks museum last term!
Our AOP students were engaged in multiple educational experiences and had the opportunity to learn about a wide range of scientific concepts, 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆, 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.
Our students participated in the 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀, 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆, 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 education program and witnessed electrifying demonstrations involving light energy, sound and electricity - which included 𝒕𝒘𝒐 𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒗𝒐𝒍𝒕𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒕𝒚!
They also got to watch a fun film called 𝗧𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼 𝗚𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘀 and observe the constellations, planets and live close-up recordings of the sun at the Planetarium!
The hands-on exhibitions at 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗔𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 and 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 provided our students with interactive learning experiences too. Think Ahead had futuristic displays of innovations in science, technology, engineering and design where our AOP students could imagine, create and interact with. In Sportsworks, our AOP students investigated the science of sports, how human bodies work, and explored the design, materials and technologies used in sports equipment.
This Scienceworks excursion offered a rich and immersive learning experience for our students who are engaged in Science as a core subject in our Alpha Omega Program.
