CORRECTION: The steering angle should be fine but when using a wheel you need to adjust your force feedback settings. Under 1:1 Behaviour select "Faster if needed".
This also applies to the vanilla bus and truck btw
This is useful for any wheels with a limited 900 or so degrees of rotation like your old logitech wheel. Most Direct Drive wheels have limitless steering rotation so it is not necessary for those wheels but for the majority of budget wheel users, this setting is very useful and makes a massive difference to the gameplay.
i use disable if needed on my g29 and works great

I feel that with the new 0.31 update (T-series) BeamNG has proven that it is able to be realistic in any form of transportation. Hell, we even have plane mods! If the devs work hard enough, not that they don't already work really hard, Beam could be excellent at everything.

@@SimulatorAdventures I have strong nostalgia for it too.. but if you want a real bus sim, look into OMSI 2. I also would like to say, Beam does *not* have near enough details as OMSI, to compare. There isn't even a properly done retarder function..
I've been having a slight rant on how we could do for some more semi trucks (especially from my neck of the woods), but buses, indeed they do deserve more attention as we see these modders prove their point.
They've been teasing a t series remaster for a while now so its not like Beam Devs dont want to improve.. it just takes time because they are in the process of revamping half of the game ATM. There are multiple normal road going cars that need work as well, but with a game that considers itself still in alpha stages, that is to be expected.

I really want more Japanese rigid trucks, myself. Though of course mods for larger rigid trucks would also have semi truck variants, just like the real ones do
But the small trucks that can't be semi-trucks would also be very cool to drive

The actual model of this bus is Isuzu Erga. This is Japan's legendary city bus and can be found in almost every city in Japan!
Interestingly enough, Mitsubishi Fuso and Hyundai produced a bus named 'Aero'. (Because Mitsubishi provided technology to Hyundai from the 80s to the 2000s.)
It's the Hino Blue Ribbon too, as they are the same vehicle
Doesn't have to do with the video, but when you said that it doesn't matter that people don't get on the bus, I got reminded that the thing I really love about BeamNG is that it makes me feel like a child again, that you have to imagine your games, but it's still my favorite game!
The manual is very responsive to the throttle and you could set off easily in third gear, so I'd consider first two gears crawl gears
It seems that way yeah, although I do prefer the automatics for vehicles as big as this
the one thing that i think OMSI 2 gets right and BeamNG doesnt is the variation in engine sounds. the current diesel sounds sound kinda lifeless in comparison to OMSI where practically every bus has a different engine sound. Not to mention transmission whine, where even the BeamNG mods are unable to get right and base their sounds off of the default ones.
Edit: the most notable example in OMSI 2 is the Setra S319UL ZF Ecomat
Atleast they beat OMSI in terms of vehicle dynamics, softbody and interactable interior.
Maybe one day when Engine Simulator becomes finished and merged into BeamNG we'll be able to make proper diesel engine sounds but that's probably a few years away from happening.
Yes, OMSI 2 does a great job of replicating real life sounds but in many other areas its so outdated.

I think if the wentward is remastered with more details, triggers and maybe more engines, beamNG would be one of the best games for bus routes. I wish it will have a remaster. But I think the number of maps is sufficient since Johnson valley has only one road, so it's not interesting, and other maps are small or not adapted for bus routes
A Wentward bus would be amazing, and yeah Johnson Valley wouldn't be a great bus map.
the bus in the vanilla game is cool,but hasn't had an update in years(besides maybe pbr materials) just like the burnside.

The background cars in omsi are pretty cool....old mercs, Vauxhalls, rovers etc definitely makes you feel like you're in 1990s/2000 Britain

Nice Bus. I hope we will be seeing some other bus models as mods. Like o405 o305 or Citaro, Man Lions City etc. Beam NG has good physics and driving a bus feels realistic. Imagine having real maps

Maybe your FFB settings in beamng arent quite right because i imagine the bus has a wayyy better turning radius in the ffb controls one of the first options is steering ratio or something like that try plying with it a bit 🙏🏼
There are some choices there like “faster if needed” but i dont currently remember exactly the right setting
All vehicles should work at 900 degrees steering angle but for this you may have to turn it up beyond that.

@@SimulatorAdventures go to the steering settings and set "1:1 steering angle" to 900 degrees (same as G27), then underneath, select "disabled" or "disabled as needed"

Shame the creator isn’t making a LHD for American maps, lots of us who like the buses in this game like them as we do bus routes however, no maps for this bus
Quite a fun mod, love that it is free on the Repo. It has incredible details.
Love that there are manual versions, I made my own 6 speed version for higher speeds (5 speed tops out at 90 km/h, 6 speed gets over 130).
Bus Simulator 21 was so terrible for me I actually enjoyed the one from 18 more. The tutorial was a desaster, the buses had a messed up acceleration setting I had to figure out. Not great.
I also wanted a manual bus in those games so bad, but I only got one in Omsi, that drove even worse.
I am glad to have BeamNG, because I love what I can do to the vehicles. Through one of the mods I have access to manuals on the Wentwards now, and I have the Wentward pack.
This results in a manual 65 foot bus (around 21 meters :)
I did a video on Bus Simulator 21 a couple of years ago but apparently its improved a lot, I should take a look again. They even added Trams for some reason

This bus is the “ISUZU ERGA(いすゞ エルガ)”, a route bus sold by Isuzu Motors.
The new model of this bus is a sibling of the "Hino Blue Ribbon II(日野 ブルーリボンⅡ)," both of which are sold by Isuzu Motors.
This model is an old model, which can be distinguished by its upper and lower divided headlights.
This is a non-step model, but one-step and two-step models are also available.
Generally, passengers board from the front door and disembark from the rear door, but some local bus companies, such as “Yamako Bus(山交バス)”, board from the rear door and disembark from the front door.
The steering circle is bad because you have your steering rotation set to 1:1. So it’s your logitech wheel that limits the turning. Irl the wheel would go much further making the bus turn much tighter.
Yes I worked that out after, although I don't quite know why this bus needs more than 900 degrees rotation.
@@SimulatorAdventures Probably due to the safety reasons in case the power steering dies. Also maybe to insure smoothness and precision of manoeuvres.
A lot of trucks and other heavy machinery are like that.
I use thrustmaster t300 rs which has 1080 degrees of rotation. And even that limits the turning circle of roamer, d-series, lansdale, t-series and maybe some old-school cars.
I believe trucks and buses have like 2000 degrees of rotation irl.

That's a Mitsubishi fuso aero star one of the most memorable bus in the late 2000 to 2010 And of my favorite livery is dirty white with orange and green colors which I had owned a tomica diecast models of the bus
Don't forget though OMSI 2 came out back in 2013, 10 years ago so to say it's still relivent to other sims of today is still pretty good especially with the interactiveability of buttons etc, now of course if there were ever an OMSI 3, then you know that it would be the best bus sim out there
I think Omsi 2 graphics were very outdated even in 2013, but the main problem is that they're still releasing content for it. It's good at it's core but I don't see them releasing Omsi 3 any time soon 😭

I suggested this mod like, 1 hour after it came out. I knew this video was gonna be amazing.
The interior looks familiar for me (I just had my trip on a Hino bus months ago)
I feel like BeamNG is the best all rounder ground vehicle simulator, due to its high accuracy soft body physics engine, there's even trains and plane mods that are pretty competent. I would say in the future might be the sim that trully manages to encompase all types of vehicle simulation mechanics into a single piece of software (Actually it might be already that). After all, the simulations in this game arent just about destruction and car mechanics, but also pneumatic, air compressor systems for buses and trucks, among others. The latest rework on the T series truck model, its systems and addition of trailers in conjunction with real truck/trailer mechanics was impressive, its clear that the developers are trying to do anything that touches asphalt, as viable and realistic as it can be. There's even amphibious vehicle, so yeah xD. In multiple ocasions the devs implement great proof of concept feature to the game, and tend to work upon them later on, or redo it from the ground up so it matches their full vision for it. Oh and virtual reality works nicely already too, even in experimental is already a ton of fun.
The SCS bus driver music really hit home for me
You could also potentially use GTA 5 for a bus simulator, since you can drive the buses and there are bus stops. Albeit without the I terror and switches, but the bus should drive reasonably well. And you have a huge land area to use

This mod is good and I absolutely love it, but I'd say that the Capsule bus mod has a lot more to offer in terms of customization and realism. Has wipers, operational controls, single deck and double deck, different lengths, 1 or 2 rear axles & much more.
That's fair. The capsule does have a lot more variety in its variants. Ideally the capsule would have this level of detail, now that would be an epic mod.
Imagine they made the Hong Kong bus skins like the Kowloon Motor Bus or Long Win Bus or Citybus or the formerly New World First Bus
I wish that there would be a gillig bus mod, either a gillig advantage or a gillig BRT

What map in ur opinion should become Bus Routes ? ETK Driving Center and Automation Test Track are to small and Jonson Walley are just one straight road
Small island and Automation test track could have short bus routes but Industrial Site is probably the best map for Bus Routes.
@@SimulatorAdventures Automation from what Cafe/Dam-Tsekqua-Race Track/Gas Station/Airstrip, maybe, but what about Industrial Site , it whould be cool to connect Industrial Site whit Derby Arena , but you can walk trou Small Island, it only has a bird research station, a settlement for biologist scientists and staff, a communication tower and a port, the bus makes no sense.
I really hope we get an English map soon. Similar to the forza horizon 4 map. The existing ones don’t really feel like Britain at all, even though the modders tried their best.
I really hope they make something similar to WCUSA but for England. A mix of city, rural and motorways
There's a paid one I've just seen called "Beamshire" but I'm not sure its worthy of the price yet. I will keep following it and when it looks good I'll make a video.

I hope they take inspiration for such map in the real world. Horizon 4's roads are as wide as an airport runway. You could fit two and a half cars in one lane.

The model is really old. People now expect way higher level of detail in newer vehicles, not only the graphics but interactivity and customizability as well.
Its too american. I only use the Neuplan bus (Wentward with more european styling) because I mostly play european maps
Only the real ones recognize the Bus Driver theme
