The bass player Marco sings a lot. He often does harmonies but also has full sections and even songs to himself. He has a great duet on Phantom of the Opera with the original singer Tarja, well worth checking out. Otherwise you have opened a right can of worms. Anything from Wacken is gold. Wembley gig is also great. Pretty much all of the music and lyrics are by the keyboardist Tuomas, he is in my eyes a genius. Weak Fantasy is a favourite of mine, other suggestions you will get will include Poet and the Pendulum and Greatest Show on Earth, both are epic and I would suggest reading the lyrics to both first and the backstory to Poet as it adds a huge amount of gravitas. Hopefully you and your daughter will explore more of this band.

Yes, I noticed it too and as a Pink Floyd's fan, since 1987, I have to say that Marco, Tuomas, Emppu and Jukka perform High Hopes in a great way. I just love it. I love watching their faces during this song... they are loving it, so much passion.

She started listening while I watching UA-cam vids and now she has her own playlist with captions so she can sing along. Been a fan of nightwish for many years, now react to some high energy music from Japan that will blow your mind and will be in disbelief that they are insanely talented. The band called BANDMAID with songs DICE, MORATORIUM, PLAY, AND TAKE ME HIGHER.
Poet and the Pendulum live at Wembley and the Greatest Show on Earth live at Tempere both have high production values. Both are long songs. Regarding Poet and the Pendulum, it is best to know the back story of that song and its relevance to the bands history after the first singer, Tarja was fired from the band. I’ve seen grown men weeping during that song. It is emotionally intense; especially for anyone who has felt deep betrayal in their lives. Nightwish has many sounds and as you may have seen, they are at their best live.
I think your daughter likes Marco's voice. I see her smiling and enjoying more. I just come from watching your reaction on Romanticide, and she said that Ever Dream liked way more than GLS and Romanticide. So, I would recommend The Islander ( live Tampere ) and Kiss while your lips are still red ( live at Wembley ) those are basically Marco's songs, Floor does the backing vocals. Two beautiful songs. Yes, those two are amazing. But then we have Slaying the dreamer, where he sings a lot too, and it's completely insane. You know, I've seen Floor doing this song and she does great, as usual, but Tarja nails it here. The contrast between Marco's rough voice and her high operetic notes is superb.

Sorry, didn't go through all the comments but I'd recommend you to check out Marco's own band Tarot out too, started in the 80's and first two albums "The Spell of Iron" and "Follow Me Into Madness" are really brilliant old school heavy metal/hard rock. I haven't really checked out most of the later albums but at least one my younger brother used to listen to around the turn of the century sounded pretty good too. Oh, and this was a good pick, not done to death reaction like "The Pit and the Pendulum" or your first song. :)
If you have any curiosity left for Nightwish, you should try out the song "Sleeping sun" (Both version are great : the one where Tarja sings is more opera-like than Floor's, but both are great). If you like another shocked reaction, you should try this song (KAMELOT - Liar Liar ft. Alissa White-Gluz (Official Video) | Napalm Records). The "viking" looking guy Marco sings "The islander" by himself mostly, and Floor sings harmony with him on the chorus. It is GREAT and there is a video of it live IF you look for it. I am 95% sure the song is "The islander" I hope I am right on the song title.

Yes, those two are amazing. But then we have Slaying the dreamer, where he sings a lot too, and it's completely insane. You know, I've seen Floor doing this song and she does great, as usual, but Tarja nails it here. The contrast between Marco's rough voice and her high operetic notes is superb.

@@GlitchintheMatrixMultiMedia Just a heads up, the End of an Era concert is with their first vocalist, Tarja Tarunen. She's a got a different, much more classical style of singing (I mean like opera classical) than Floor who tends to blend classical vocals with pop/rock and even some musical theatre stylings (her epic belting is from her days as a musical theatre student I think)

Anyway, Marco has released a solo album lately and it's really good, it sounds a little like Pink Floyd. And probably you would love listening to his work in Tarot, the band he has been playing for decades and where he was the main singer. Here you have two versions: the old one, without a beard and the most recent one, with a beard.

This is my favorite Marko/Floor duet. As brilliant as Marko/Tarja Phantom. This band won't be the same without Marko.
Sorry, didn't go through all the comments but I'd recommend you to check out Marco's own band Tarot out too, started in the 80's and first two albums "The Spell of Iron" and "Follow Me Into Madness" are really brilliant old school heavy metal/hard rock. I haven't really checked out most of the later albums but at least one my younger brother used to listen to around the turn of the century sounded pretty good too. Oh, and this was a good pick, not done to death reaction like "The Pit and the Pendulum" or your first song. :)

If you have any curiosity left for Nightwish, you should try out the song "Sleeping sun" (Both version are great : the one where Tarja sings is more opera-like than Floor's, but both are great). If you like another shocked reaction, you should try this song (KAMELOT - Liar Liar ft. Alissa White-Gluz (Official Video) | Napalm Records). That girl's voice is something... quite unexpected. ;)
