    Great to see an informative video of these snakes! I recently got a high orange Saharan sand boa a few weeks ago from my local reptile store. You have some really beautiful boa’s 🙌

    3 boas lay eggs: Saharan, Arabian & Calabar boas. Love the babies! I keep an adult female. Love that you are captive breeding them.

      One of my baby Kenyans makes those very same movements.

      I have a ton of stuff filmed, just 0 time to edit. This video was easy enough to edit with the UA-cam editor, but I have some super neat stuff filmed that’ll need some more complex editing and I just don’t have the time.

      @@reptileboy91 My last trip to Togo was 2016. I haven’t been back since then, although I would very much like to. Neat animals aside, west Africa is one of the most unique and underrated places on the planet with really awesome and friendly people.
      The rainbow pied, or kente, disappeared for awhile, but this year actually seems to have shown back up in Europe with new neonates, so there’s a good chance it proved out.

      Hahah, all demonetized. Dang CKY getting in the way of my UA-cam $$$ just because I want to profit off their intellectual property! /s

    How long are they usually gravid for before laying the eggs?

    How do you breed these

    Hey can I ask what temp do you incubate yours at?

    • @RepTillis
      @RepTillis  3 роки тому

      88 just like a python. They hatched in I believe around 17 days for me. The hard part is that you CANNOT move the eggs. At all. They will pop 100%. So when it becomes obvious the females are about to lay, I switch them over and literally keep them in a container of vermiculite until they lay, and afterwards just throw the whole cage/tub into the incubator after putting the female back to her normal cage.

      @@RepTillis Thank you for the info!! I'm preparing to deal with my first clutch of eggs and was pondering how to deal with them so this is very helpful. Breeding information on this species has been relatively difficult to track down.
