Hey Kait, just wanna let you know that, for most Korean glossy lip tint formulas, such as the Romand tints, rubbing your lips together or patting them in with your fingers makes them less glossy! To achieve maximum glossiness, they say to not touch the formula at all.
Have you tried Round Lab sunscreens? It's been the bestseller in Korea since it launched. The trend for blushes in Korea now is using a very light, almost white based color, to make your cheeks look plumper and more youthful. They put that color almost where you have that under eye hollow and even the wrinkles next to your nose/smile lines.
I soooo appreciate your description of the smells and tastes in everything. It saves me quite some time post-review-googling which I normally have to do. I haaaate almost every fragrance in lip products. Thank you!!

Missha in shade 13 is more pink toned than 21. It’s a perfect match on my very cool toned skin. But since the fragrance and essential oils in it don’t work well for you. But thought I’d mention it for anyone else interested in it.
Also, the eyelash trend in Korea now is to actually make your lashes clump together. They'd use tweezers to pinch the lashes together after applying mascara to create that look that almost feels like you're wearing thick individual lashes. Like those lashes you see in manga. That trend started with kpop stage makeup.
Oh lord I'd be good at that look. Sometime its hard to not get my lashes clump together . But I love that look , if it's like I'm thinking , the way twiggy used to do her lashes ? I'll have to look that up
Ha they like it neat and clean without actual chunks so they'd use heat to tidy up and melt those chunks away if there are any with heat. There are heated lash curlers or professional makeup artists would burn 2 toothpicks and use that remaining heat to melt the extra mascara away. It's fascinating.

I have tried many of these already, but the product I am most interested in trying now is the 3CE blur water tint! I also need more shades of the nature republic melting balm. I only have the darkest plum shade which is gorgeous, but I don’t get enough use out of bolder colors.
Oh my gosh, the way I could immediately smell that Missha cream when you were talking about it even though I haven’t used a Missha product in like 10 years lol. Their sunscreen used to give me a massive headache because of the fragrance. Also, I’ve watched several of your longer form review videos now and can I just say, your presentation is so good! That Judydoll gloss was actually pretty viral. The glossiness was supposed to be transfer proof. There are quite a few TikToks of people touching a wine glass to their lips and making Shocked Influencer Face when it doesn’t transfer.
@@StateofKaithey Kait, I made a similar comment about this elsewhere, but for the judydoll tints, you’re not supposed to rub your lips together or pat them in with your fingers. You have to let them set.
@@JenChenshuffler I have no idea what you guys are talking about! 😂 I just applied it again, didn’t rub my lips together, let it sit for ten minutes, and it still smudges like any other gloss. I guess the color doesn’t come off as much but the gloss definitely does.
@@StateofKaityou’re right - when ppl say it’s transfer proof I think they’re mostly talking about the colour. I think it’s similar to the Romand Glasting Water Tint in that respect.

This vid is what made me finally decide to get the Honey Melting Lip! I kept getting tempted by all your vids but this officially put it on my list! I snagged Plum and Coconut for $6-7 each on Amazon for prime day. SO cheap but such quality! I hate goopy lip glosses so much but this gives the shine I’m usually jealous of with those goopy glosses, but without the goop 👏🏽 It does feel thick like you said but in a good way, that it’s gonna stay on my lips and hold in that moisture. It’s not exactly a nourishing lip balm for me; I think wearing it alone makes a bit of lip skin feel slightly dry (but like… BARELY), but I don’t get that at all if I just moisturize with a proper balm (Summer Fridays is my holy grail) before applying this. This as a topper to a balm is perfection because that shit will lock in all the hydration. I loveeee. I also got these right before I was gonna go to the mall to get the new gloss stix…… but I was so excited about these that I felt I could skip on the fenty!
Okay finally got around to watching this video and I’m currently obsessed with Nature Republic Honey Melting LIp in Lychee and in Berry (pomegranate was a little too bright/orange for me, but love the formula). This is just a thanks for turning me on to this!!! Such a fan 🎉❤

Omg I am Korean and actually going to Korea in a couple weeks.. SAVING THIS!! For your next K-beauty lip tints- please try AMUSE! I'm definitely overwhelemd by the VAST number of options in K beauty, but Amuse dewyful water tints(?) are super popular for their shade selection, and had a new smaller packaging gel-fit tint(?) version come out w more staining and lasting power. But tbh I watch a ton of Korean youtubers and there are just SO MANY new/seemingly amazing lip tints.. I'm too overwhlmed to pick one to recommend! LOVE YOUR IN DEPTH VIDEOS

Thank you so much for being so thorough, especially around fragrance. I have a genuine reaction to most essential oils which bring me out in rashes and turn my skin to crispy bacon, so avoiding them is more than a superstition - but that leaves very little left! Being unable to sniff means I can't justify risking something with a smidgen of fragrance, but hearing from you that something has subtle or less irritating scents means I might give it a try.
Agree the 3CE Water Blur Tint is perfect btw, I'm always surprised it gets less attention compared to the Etude House Fixing Tint. To me the 3CE lasts longer and looks subtler

I love the Cermide comfort cream mist, but I don’t like misting it in my face. I feel like it goes everywhere and I can’t breathe. I just spray it in my hand and pat it on. I love it!

Ooooh, girl... I was waiting for this! Not me sitting with my Olive Young app open, adding things to my cart. FYI- Olive Young is another K beauty store (I want to say they are similar to Ulta in Korea). I don't live that far away from you & every time I place an order, it gets to me in less than a week. The quickest was ordered on a Friday, got it on Monday. Had all of the brands you mentioned that I'm interested in. I know someone else mentioned Roundlab as a brand they like. I do, too. Also, Torriden, Dr. G, & Haruharu are a few other skincare brands I like that they carry. They are also having a sale right now with some good value sets.
Thank you for such a comprehensive rundown. I switched to K beauty a few years ago and I have very little else in my collection now. The description of the differences between all the Romand glosses is particularly useful as I’ve tried a number of them, but not all the different formulas yet (give me time 😂). I also like the balms from Toboco, especially the matte one which has an interesting powdery blurred look that isn’t drying. They look a bit daunting in the tube, but not nearly so pigmented on the lips, leaving a much more subtle tint. Thanks again for all your hard work!
So glad for this video! I also recently fell in love with the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen. I’ve been filling my cart over the last few weeks with various skincare items and you tried a lot of the ones I’ve been seeing recommended! Also for cleansing balms I was debating buying the Beauty of Joseon vs. Anua and you’ve solidified that I need to try both.
We have quite different tastes but I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. They are quite in depth. I absolutely adore the Peripera Mood Glowy Lip Stains and do not like their new gloss. It doesn't do absolutely anything for my lips. I do enjoy the Nature Republic lip balms, though and I found out about them through you! I have dry lips and Sahara-like skin (thanks genetics and illnesses!😞).

That’s so funny, I love the Apieu Juicy Pang Water Blusher!😂 But its sheerness is exactly why I love it so much, because I tend towards getting red throughout the day so I only want a blusher that is very sheer and watery. I put this on bare skin, and it has really great and subtle staying power.
Going to recommend the Thank You Farmer I’m From Rice Gel Cream. It’s Gel & Cream in the same pot. (I always use about 50/50, but in theory you can adjust for use.) There is nothing like it for providing satin finish with the most amazing glow from within. (Leaves CT for dead.) I’m 52 with dry, sensitive skin and this is now on repeat buy - people have been asking what I’ve been using ever since I started.

That Judydoll gloss was actually pretty viral. The glossiness was supposed to be transfer proof. There are quite a few TikToks of people touching a wine glass to their lips and making Shocked Influencer Face when it doesn’t transfer.
That’s so weird, it’s definitely not transfer proof. At least mine isn’t….
@@StateofKaithey Kait, I made a similar comment about this elsewhere, but for the judydoll tints, you’re not supposed to rub your lips together or pat them in with your fingers. You have to let them set.
@@JenChenshuffler I have no idea what you guys are talking about! 😂 I just applied it again, didn’t rub my lips together, let it sit for ten minutes, and it still smudges like any other gloss. I guess the color doesn’t come off as much but the gloss definitely does.
@@StateofKaityou’re right - when ppl say it’s transfer proof I think they’re mostly talking about the colour. I think it’s similar to the Romand Glasting Water Tint in that respect.

I was just looking through YesStyle last night because I need to restock my sunscreen but wanted to add on some makeup (all the lip products are confusing, they seem so similar looking at the product page!). If I HAD to rank them in order, I'd say: Nature Republic honey melting lip, Naturium phyto glow lip balm, Fitglow lip serum, Charlotte Tilbury happikiss, Rhode peptide lip balm, Ami cole lip oil.

This vid is what made me finally decide to get the Honey Melting Lip! I kept getting tempted by all your vids but this officially put it on my list! I snagged Plum and Coconut for $6-7 each on Amazon for prime day. SO cheap but such quality! I hate goopy lip glosses so much but this gives the shine I’m usually jealous of with those goopy glosses, but without the goop 👏🏽 It does feel thick like you said but in a good way, that it’s gonna stay on my lips and hold in that moisture. It’s not exactly a nourishing lip balm for me; I think wearing it alone makes a bit of lip skin feel slightly dry (but like… BARELY), but I don’t get that at all if I just moisturize with a proper balm (Summer Fridays is my holy grail) before applying this. This as a topper to a balm is perfection because that shit will lock in all the hydration. I loveeee.
I also got these right before I was gonna go to the mall to get the new gloss stix…… but I was so excited about these that I felt I could skip on the fenty!

Omg I am Korean and actually going to Korea in a couple weeks.. SAVING THIS!! For your next K-beauty lip tints- please try AMUSE! I'm definitely overwhelemd by the VAST number of options in K beauty, but Amuse dewyful water tints(?) are super popular for their shade selection, and had a new smaller packaging gel-fit tint(?) version come out w more staining and lasting power. But tbh I watch a ton of Korean youtubers and there are just SO MANY new/seemingly amazing lip tints.. I'm too overwhlmed to pick one to recommend! LOVE YOUR IN DEPTH VIDEOS

I have a genuine reaction to most essential oils which bring me out in rashes and turn my skin to crispy bacon, so avoiding them is more than a superstition - but that leaves very little left! Being unable to sniff means I can't justify risking something with a smidgen of fragrance, but hearing from you that something has subtle or less irritating scents means I might give it a try.
Agree the 3CE Water Blur Tint is perfect btw, I'm always surprised it gets less attention compared to the Etude House Fixing Tint. To me the 3CE lasts longer and looks subtler

Ooooh, girl... I was waiting for this! Not me sitting with my Olive Young app open, adding things to my cart. FYI- Olive Young is another K beauty store (I want to say they are similar to Ulta in Korea). I don't live that far away from you & every time I place an order, it gets to me in less than a week. The quickest was ordered on a Friday, got it on Monday. Had all of the brands you mentioned that I'm interested in. I know someone else mentioned Roundlab as a brand they like. I do, too. Also, Torriden, Dr. G, & Haruharu are a few other skincare brands I like that they carry. They are also having a sale right now with some good value sets.
Thank you for such a comprehensive rundown. I switched to K beauty a few years ago and I have very little else in my collection now. The description of the differences between all the Romand glosses is particularly useful as I’ve tried a number of them, but not all the different formulas yet (give me time 😂). I also like the balms from Toboco, especially the matte one which has an interesting powdery blurred look that isn’t drying. They look a bit daunting in the tube, but not nearly so pigmented on the lips, leaving a much more subtle tint. Thanks again for all your hard work!

So glad for this video! I also recently fell in love with the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen. I’ve been filling my cart over the last few weeks with various skincare items and you tried a lot of the ones I’ve been seeing recommended! Also for cleansing balms I was debating buying the Beauty of Joseon vs. Anua and you’ve solidified that I need to try both.
We have quite different tastes but I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. They are quite in depth. I absolutely adore the Peripera Mood Glowy Lip Stains and do not like their new gloss. It doesn't do absolutely anything for my lips. I do enjoy the Nature Republic lip balms, though and I found out about them through you! I have dry lips and Sahara-like skin (thanks genetics and illnesses!😞).

That’s so funny, I love the Apieu Juicy Pang Water Blusher!😂 But its sheerness is exactly why I love it so much, because I tend towards getting red throughout the day so I only want a blusher that is very sheer and watery. I put this on bare skin, and it has really great and subtle staying power.

Going to recommend the Thank You Farmer I’m From Rice Gel Cream. It’s Gel & Cream in the same pot. (I always use about 50/50, but in theory you can adjust for use.) There is nothing like it for providing satin finish with the most amazing glow from within. (Leaves CT for dead.) I’m 52 with dry, sensitive skin and this is now on repeat buy - people have been asking what I’ve been using ever since I started.
I LOVE your deep dives, they are so informative and helpful when shopping 😍 TIRTIR expanded their cushion foundation shade range and I am hoping more K/J Beauty brands will follow suit bc the quality of the products are so. Damn. Good. Especially at that price point
