- I ride from Gweta to Maun, in Botswana, in Africa.
After a very quite morning, I start meeting a lot of elephants drinking water very close to the road. After successfully passing the first one, as I try to pass my second elephant the day, things go completely wrong as the elephant tries to charge me... the angry pachyderm does not want to let me through. Luckily, a police car arrives soon after, and they help me pass the elephant without getting harmed. Then I keep meeting large groups of elephants too close to the road for me to easily pass them. At each group, I stop a car, and ask them to help me pass the elephants without getting attacked in the process.
After all these adventures, I find a fenced telecommunication tower where I can safely spend the night. The next day, no more elephants, and after finding a wonderful small shop in the middle of nowhere, I finally reach Maun.

Those shields from the police, soldiers, truck drivers and others was a good sign of humanity. Even the scared lady with a small car wasn't even selfish despite the risk she faced by moving slow with you.
Batswana Modimo o ba dirile hela a ba iketletse a sa tabogela gope 😉👏👏👏
Lol "This one is in a bad mood" I love how the highway patrol are very intuned with the wildlife.
Oops, this awesome. Thanks buddy for passing by my shop at Makalamabedi Veterinary Gate., Botswana...Pan Dreams Grill (PTY Ltd)
Nice shop💯
how long ago was it?
I am from Kenya will come to visit that place.
Im in Maun and will pass by your shop when i travel to Francistown. You are good guys
@@BenBaitseGareegpe O hitile leng hoo mothaka yo?
Very professional..The Police Officer...i love that he asked questions, was fascinated and still did his job checking travel documents.
The people of Botswana have really outdone themselves. The land of Tebogo seems really super friendly. Rashid was really the star of the video. Super helpful. May he thrive in his cooking career. I also loved the Colombian lady for acknowledging that travel should not be done in a hurry. The fun is in the process not the destination. Good luck Yves...from Uganda!
Thank you...🇧🇼🇧🇼🗳💞💞💞
Great comment, my fellow Ugandan 🇺🇬😊
Tebogo is a Kenyan by the way
@@nicksonmisoi8488
Tebogo letsile is a Tswana name and surname

The people of Botswana, tears in my eyes, you guys are awesome! Cheers from Sweden
They are some of the nicest people you will ever meet
Botswana should be proud. Stand up Botswanians well done. Your fellow south African neighborhood sends you love. God bless Botswana ♥️♥️
Botswanians!!?
They are batswana 😊
@typhondalucidkas3005 Botswanian is noun and adjective that refers to a person from Botswana, or simply put, Botswanan. ❤️
@faganmorgan576 Well that's why I am correcting you. Coz most people make the same mistake
People from Botswana are called Batswana
Singular, motswana....South Africans should know this🤷♂️ Botswanian/Botswanan are both not real words especially Botswanian..Botswanan is mostly used by Europeans but its also not proper way to call people from Botswana
@@FaganMorgan576 we are batswana respect us
@@LE0497 okay tough guy 😂
wow, watching this makes me proud of my country 🇧🇼 Batswana really are such compassionate people
Nice people
@@Julien-hv3lhYes people who help with dignity unlike some other countries where everyone needs money. Botswana is a class of it's own. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 .
Yes I don't know much about your country but the people seem amazing!
You should be proud, I’ve loved watching this part of yves journey, wonderful!
Yeah this video made me proud to be a motswana. Such warm hearted people especially all those cars and trucks that shielded him from the elephants. Not forgetting Rashidi. God truly bless everyone 🙏😊
"you are not scared of the elephants?"
"No it's okay"
Famous last words
Mother Africa doesn't play 😂😂😂
😅
If the locals are asking you this, think twice.
Never take local warning for granted
That was like him saying never mind
Many elephants on the way, what a dangerous journey😂,I guess Botswana has the biggest elephant population in Africa , much love from Kenya 🇰🇪

We are truly grateful for your respect and love towards our beautiful country, Ethiopia. It warms our hearts to know you appreciated your time here. We sincerely hope you'll return to visit us again in the future. Wishing you safe and joyful travels ahead!🙏🍀
Elephants are aggressive that's why the residents are warning you. We live with these animals.
And they hate bikes for some reason.
@@themintleaf1778 elephants are not territorial and no they are not defending themselves, teen elephants charge about 40% more than any age group of elephants its all mood like human teens.
Those elephants are the best
that shop with Rashid was next level, who ever owns it, I bow for you, it's beautiful!
@BenBaitseGareegpe You mean this man?
This is the best episode of all time! I feel so proud and happy that you mentioned Ethiopia 🇪🇹 as the place that fascinated you the most during your tour of Africa. Even though we Ethiopians may not have done much for you, like we usually do for guests, I think you may have come at a challenging time 😢. I’d like to apologize for any trouble you experienced in Ethiopia, and thank you for admiring our country 🇪🇹
Peace for the world !
Ethiopia is simply one special place to visit on the continent.. I follow one very beautiful Ethiopian female vlogger almost everyday (Feti's Vlogs 2). There are others who are also good. If you'd follow her vlogs, you'll simply want to visit Ethiopia and I am one of those who is putting plans together to visit hopefully first quarter of the coming year.. (from Johannesburg)
From your trips, the people of Kenya and Botswana are the most helpful and accommodating. You can communicate with them with ease. The scene of the countrysides is breath taking. In rural Ethiopia and even in Addis not many people speak English and so makes it difficult for travellers. The ongoing civil war does not help. Praying for peace for my homeland 🇪🇹
Morning my friends…from Uganda! Thank God you’re still alive.
Africa the only continent you can make content that makes sense because we are not overwhelmed by technology
This is a nation with more elephants than citizens glad you navigated that safely …can’t wait to see you complete this amazing journey
Talk about balls of steel, I would have abandoned the trike.. As for all our country men who helped this man, wow may the creator shield you and your loved ones to the end. Salute Mr Yves

That guy has a nice shop. Probably the cleanest shop I’ve seen you go into!
That was really cool of the highway patrol to shield you past the elephant!..what a place!
Great cops!!! At the right place at the right moment...... This is a real POLICE WORK !!
Botswana has the best police force in Africa ❤
Today the journey has been very risky..but Botswana people are very friendly and helpful 🇧🇼 ❤
Wow! The elephants so close to the road were frightening but thank God for the truckers and cars for shielding you. That one elephant that looked like he wanted to charge you! Oh my goodness!!! Be careful.
The best episode ever; dats Botswana happy and friendly nation.
The young man at the shop ,Rashid, was so helpful.. I hope his boss gives him a tip
Can you believe we watched your Botswana videos all day and all night. We went to bed at 3am and i woke up to binge watch again. I love my Batswana . Totally amazing nation we have. I love all African countries that gave you love.

The country is beautiful, and the people friendly. Watching from Nairobi

As for the policemen, truck drivers and all nice helpful people you come across, it restores ones hope in humanity ❤
You really had a long day!thanks to people of Botswana they are so friendly
I have learnt so much about Botswana through your travels, and I hope to learn even more as you cross through Namibia and eventually South Africa. And as the Colombian lady remarked, your mode of travel is really crazy but also shows how resilience and determination can push one through the odds. As for animals, it's not so much how they see you but the scent. The tailwind certainly gave you away. Good luck.
UA-cam should give you a Lifetime Achievement Award. You have taken us to places some of us will never go during our lifetime.
Botswana is beautiful and people are not as annoying as in other states - they are well mannered. If i ever visit Africa Botswana it is.
Botswana is probably the best Africa has to offer to tourists.

Thank you Kino for highlighting the state and conflict for space between humans and Elephants in Botswana. The current conversation about trophy hunting ban in Britain and how Botswana controls these huge animals. The country has found a way of balancing tourism and local population animal conflicts. The local population live with these animals day in day out and thus a local practical solution is important to balance the status quo.
The elephant was pissed at your squeaking brakes. Ha
This is one of my favorite vids of your so far. Thank you.
lol, it kept looking back at him like "what is this now" loooool
I bet the elephants ears were hurting from that bike sound lol
Those elephants are pretty scary. I think they are male since they are not a part of a herd. Such a lovely country with friendly people. Great episode, Yves.
Yes kino Yves, I agree with you that Botswana people are very nice. I know that from own experience when I was there in 2009 on my way to Cape Town too. I wish I can catch up with you on N7 Cape Town. Lots of love from me. Watching from Cape Town, Long street.

That elephant wasn't charging you, it was just trying to investigate 🤣🤣🤣 Joking of course.. Best of luck with the travels, looking forward to watching more..
I truly love my people.❤🇧🇼
Yeah, I know he was not charging me, but this was the last warning before he was gonna charge.
Somehow, I did not manage understand the first warning he gave me with his ears, as he was turning his head at the same time, and he was also drinking at the same time.
Because f that, I failed to understand his first warning.
And yeah, you have fantastic people in Botswana!
