Just ordered. Hope it does the trick. New chain, secondary clutch due to chain damaging it when coming off and a sprocket on the way. Was at tractor supply today for something non go kart related and saw one of these. Checked the slack and it’s way more tight that mine is.
@@jimike4716 the go kart. I saw a kart at tractor supply and asked myself how snug does a new one feel? It was way tighter. I bought mine used but in new shape for $750
I’m not able to get the chain on there now, I got a new chain, did the same amount of links 🔗 and for some reason I can’t get it to line up to connect w the master link. Did you add any extra links to compensate ?
I first tried a 12 tooth and that was to tight. You have 11 tooth? I did not add extra links, but0 I usually buy a length of chain and use what I need.
We've never experienced that because of a slack chain. The black chain if loose can bunch up and cause real problems. you can adjust that. Chains wear out real fast if you don't oil them VERY regularly,
The shaft on the Predator engine is shorter which is the problem. I worked on that today. Put a washer behind the primary clutch at the engine. On the Secondary clutch I ground some off the 11 tooth sprocket, off the shoulder on the outside. Lines up better. Before it was not good on the belt. I would not recommend that engine for this reason.
Thanks for advice, ordered that sprocket it worked for me . This was very helpful.
I'm glad to be of service.
Worked great. Thank you for the fix
Glad to help

Did it work work good for you? I'd tried a 12 tooth before that and I could not get that to work. Surprised you got one at Tractor Supply.

@@jimike4716 ordered the 11 tooth today. Says it will arrive on Sunday.
@@jimike4716 just installed new sprocket. Like new now. Hope this works. Wish I could post a video on here to show you. Big difference.
@@zachdavis2641 Overall is it faster or slower with the sprocket change?

Experiencing slack front chain kt196. Getting a popping noise on acceleration. Could the popping be related to the slack chain?

On second glance the pulleys on yours don’t look too align. How does it perform?

Can i have a link? Also is there different sprocket sizes for the rear?
You don't need to change the rear sprocket cause you can adjust the chain. I give the new sprocket info on the details about the video.
@jimike4716 I just wanted to experiment with different sizes, but I can only find the stock sizes. I'm not sure what to look for
11 Tooth 40 41 420 Chain 5/8" Bore "C" Type Sprocket 2198. I tried a 12 tooth and it was to tight.
I found the sprocket on eBay
