Can we just take a moment to just appreciate the sound of this kit?! I'm sure Aaron can make any kit sound top notch but dang, freaking perfect!
For real man! I was just thinking the same. The way he tunes his kit and drum choices overall. Its just perfect! Anything else wouldnt sound like Underoath.
I wouldn't say its tuned low, the snare is more on the high side, kick medium tension, toms maybe a little on the lower side, but still medium tension.

@@bbeau2023 TBF he plays a 14” rack with a 16” and 18” floor, so even if they’re tuned medium they’ll still sound nice and low. Its that vintage Bonham thing isn’t it.
Nearly 20 years old, and this song (and ALBUM) is still relevant to the culture. The fill at 3:08 is absolute perfection.

I’ve seen underoath countless times and the best part about Aaron is he gives you a different rendition each time. You can see him in 4 different cities and each time will be a little different even in different songs lol

Still my best drummer of all time. There's still a groove to his style. As much as I love Joey and whatnot - as a metalhead - I feel Aaron to be far more musical with just as much ferocity.
Aaron is one of the core reasons for why I started to drum. I met him a couple of years ago. The entire band is super nice.

His inspiration got me into drumming, and later it got me into touring. Forever greatful for that.

When I was younger I used to go through so many cymbals (still under warranty thank god) because he was my favorite drummer. He played so hard with so much energy so I always tried to emulate that when I was a kid.

what I love the most (apart from the fact that I love the song) is that every time they record a drum cam of this song, he plays it differently, there is always some detail. While other bands repeat ad nauseam the best take they achieved in the studio...
It's been a long time for some songs, but maybe that's the secret.
I can't even fucking imagine the energy and the breath control it takes to play drums for so long AND be able to sing so fucking perfectly.

Pretty sure he plays what he wants when he wants for the old stuff. Keeps it fresh yet doesn’t make the song sound completely different.
