Bilal and Anna Wise are singing backup. Thundercat is playing bass. All three are solo artist themselves. Thundercat was heavily involved in the production of Kendrick's To Pimp A Butterfly album. Bilal worked with Dr. Dre on his first album. Check out his song "Fast Lane," produced by Dre.
The part where he talks about "killed my homeboy and god spared your life" he is speaking about the guy in the song sing about me who he held like a new born baby. The killer is serving life and during that time kendrick misuses his power to get revenge on him by sleeping with dudes baby mother AKA being in her walls, while he is locked behind walls. That pain and anger resurfaces during this performance and you can feel it too
Bro the hip-hop you fell in love with is absolutely phenomenal, has a message; metaphors, entendres on top of entendres. It is just beautiful to see you go from being set into the metal head type of mentality, and be able to utilize your intellect and respect for talent to really begin to enjoy the culture.
He's got so much soul in his music, Ab Soul is also really lyrical, he's from the same record label and grew up with Kendrick, his song Huey Knew is full of bars
I’m so pleased that you like this kind of stuff some metal heads don’t like the real hip hop stuff and don’t like to give it a chance I’m honestly a fan of metal and hip hop both but some metal heads just don’t want to like hip hop I don’t know why but I think SOME real hip hop is good and has some good valid points in LIFE in general. And yes like the others are saying his whole album “To pimp a Butterfly” is seriously a masterpiece that you honestly NEED to listen to.
Being a fan of Dr. Dre I have gotten into a lot of his protégés in Kendrick Lamar is definitely one of them. I love Kendrick Lamar. I think he’s the best rapper of this generation. I’m not saying he’s a new rapper when you say things like that people think that I’m calling him a new rapper . It’s been over 10 years since his studio album debut but I can’t name a better rapper from his generation. This is actually my favorite version of this song the one here on the Ellen show. I’m not really a fan of Ellen but this version of the song is awesome.
This is one of the most beautiful song I ever heard, I wonder, however, why the drums sound so out of sync. It seems they were added last and not properly aligned with the other instruments and vocals. Was it done on purpose?
Please please please listen to big bad wolf by lil wayne. Not gonna stop commenting till you see this and react lol. Love the channel keep up good content and hard work
