Hi, lovely to follow you on this walk. My maiden name was Kendall and it was my uncle and family who bought and donated the miner statue that once stood outside the Jolly Collier pub. They lived, and ran a business, in Camerton for many years. Thank you - it was a lovely surprise to hear our name mentioned in your video. 🙂
Thanks for canal walk 2 from Radford to Camerton. Once again you bring back happy memories of walking the route with my partner who sadly is no longer with me. Took a picture of the statue of the miner in 2000 and he was coloured brown then. Guess he must have been repainted blue since then!!
And disappearing, it is. Camerton new pit is now a place that is sealed off. I had an idea whilst walking. Why not turn Paulton basin into a museum, I can't see the canal ever opening again 😢 so it's a good compromise. Rebuild the basin to what it was with a campsite perhaps
Please tell me it isn't the Jolly Cholera, but rather Jolly Collier. "To make us live in fear" - a man after my own heart 👍 Excellent video, once again 😀

Another excellent video my friend, and the Jolly Cholera didn’t shut that long ago sorry Jolly collier . Looking forward to part three 👍🏻💯

Its really interesting to see local history - Thanks
As always a lovely and interesting video, its nice that we have so much industrial heritage locally, albeit gradually disappearing. 👌

🤪 the jolly disease, the word that just won't come out right. Thanks for watching
Nearly fell off my chair to hear the old Jolly Collier get called "Jolly Cholera." Well done for another great video.
