Hey brother, I’m 60 years old & have never fished a tourney trail of any kind until now. I’ve hooked up with a solo deal this year. I appreciate your videos & they have taught me so much. I keep an Apex jig & an Ace jig tied on most of the time & do well with them. I didn’t know how to skip but I now can without blowing up my reel (too much). You have helped put so much fun back into my favorite hobby. God bless & keep up the good work!
Kyle, been looking for your videos for a while and so glad you did this one. I love the way you fish and could watch them all day. Tell Ms Hunter her 83 year boyfriend says hi and hope you, Lincoln and her have a great year.
Great Video KDUB. Felt good to see you on a video again. Know you been super busy with the 1st 2 Tournament's an the Classic. I'm sure your busy with Lincoln an helping Hunter. Best of luck coming up here shortly. Tell the family Amy an I love yall!!
The jigs you fished in the thick cover / lay-downs are impressive! You made several casts that I'd never make and the jigs came through it without a problem. Truly, I need to start fishing these baits in that thick stuff!! THANKS for sharing!! BTW: I've got you on my FF Team at Harris Chain, so good luck!!!
I have new boat and fish Harding. Last 5 years I have been a kayak fisherman. So mostly did the rivers. I appreciate your videos and watch regularly. Keep up the good work Kyle. I parked next to you at the ramp the other day. Was hoping to see you and shake your hand. Maybe one day. Good luck this season. Go get um Kyle. Im still not good with my forward facing sonar and stuff but love the power poles and being able to get out on all the lakes. Fishing is fun no matter what. Robbie Ray, Opelika Alabama
That clean up craw is the best craw trailer I’ve ever used. I’ve been smashing them on it lately and I don’t know what it is about that particular craw. I bought a few of your Ace jigs and did pretty good on Donk but that hook isn’t stout enough for Florida lakes I’m nervous it’s gonna bend out. Love the skirt, the head and line tie but wish you had a beefier hook in it hint hint
@@KyleWelcher Yeah it’s a great jig I’ll throw it on a flouro rod with the clean up craw. Best of luck to you this season man I’m pulling for you and so happy for your AOY. Love watching you fish a jig man it’s pure perfection. Thanks for the reply Kyle
Really like watching your videos where you just go out and fish down the bank without the ffs! I’m starting to fish a jig and trying to learn all I can about it. I’m gonna order some of your jigs but not sure which one I should start out trying. I pretty much just fish down the bank around lay downs and some docks. Every now and then it will be some open water so I guess I’m looking for the best all around jig to start with? Thanks and keep up the good work!
flipping a jig is all i have done in the last thirty years. my buddies give me shit about getting to close to the cover but when the water is dirty and the wind is ripping i move in and my presentation is better and it doesn't spook the fish. i flipped an uncle josh spring lizzard for years but now mainly use the big zoom salty chunk or a bandito bug. i am fixing to order some clean up craws and a couple magdrafts
I had a 87 procraft with a 115 Craig Daniel taught me how to get it to crank quiker lol he probably wouldn't remember it but ill never forget how he told me to get ot to crank it worked every time..
whoa whoa wait just a minute!! Can ya break down that knot you tied at 3 some odd minute time stamp? looks fancy simple and stout!! if ya have a link in ya previous vids on how to' tie 'em up' paahlease share it!! thanks in advance!!
Been fishing some of the little local tourneys you compete in just haven’t been able to fish when you do, hopefully will get to meet you soon or after the elites are over for the year! Also ordered the Small Little Local Lake shirt looks great👏
The hook gap and the distance of the weed guard from the hook tip is important to me, I hate a jig with a big gap between the hook point and the weed guard, I like your jigs
Smith lake is my small little local lake and it's got my number lately 😂 I used to win a lot on it but lately that's not the case .. I did quit fishing a few years but damn..
I fished a small little local lake tournament and caught a 4 11 big fish and u caught a 4 10 the Tuesday after the classic but I broke my arm arm wrestling at school so looks like I will not be able to fish for 8 weeks but when I heal I will definitely be back fishing tournaments again.
@@codycampbellfishing2007 I am only 15 so I am one of the youngest ones there so to beat my favorite fisherman out of big fish is one of the most amazing experiences of my life .
@@PeytonNorrisFishingIm right there with you I'm 17 only fished 2 of the tourneys and haven’t gotten to meet Kyle quite yet hoping to get some better quality the next few tourneys just kind of learning on the fly since I grew up fishing ponds
@@KyleWelcher Gotcha...thanks man! I know I saw a Wired2Fish (I think) video where you said you were most excited about the 7'6 M Muse a while back. Would that 7'3 M also work with smaller/lighter cranks?
Wow 😬 @7:33 that reel sounds terrible. I’ve always taken a pass on 13Fishing gear because of product reviews , I’m curious to see what Rapala does with it, if they keep it going they have a lot of work to do.
He’s probably casting that way because he’s facing left towards the bank. When I face right towards the bank I usually cast left. I’m pretty sure all these guys learn to cast every which way for whatever they’re around
For me, it’s because when I started throwing a baitcaster 1988 I couldn’t find a lefty reel. I flip with my left hand because of the bite on the fall. Pitching I have the reel back in my left hand while the lure is still in the air. I’m not sure while people make such a big deal about it.? To me it falls in the “worry about you” category. 👽
Left handed reel is not necessarily the answer. What I did was learned how to pitch left handed. Cast and pitch. Now I’m better and stronger lefty when pitching. Wish I was as good with my right now.

You may not do many of these style videos, but they are longer and i learn so much from them. You make the education fun
I appreciate the feedback
Another great TEAM WELCHER video production.... great job Hunter.... Many thanks !!!
Best wishes for 2024 !!!
Thank you! You too!

I have to say your casting ability is spot on, No wonder you do so well .Yes there is more to it than casting, but it’s scary impressive.

It’s definitely not a hook for braid. I’ve caught some giants on it but I use flouro so it doesn’t bend.

Killer content as usual! Let’s get a blue trophy to go with the AOY!🤘🤙🎣

Nice to see a new video

Those are the 2 things that matter. Thank you.
Do you feel it's necessary to impart the Alabama Shake to the swim jig all the time or allow the trailer to give the action.
Smith lake is my small little local lake and it's got my number lately 😂 I used to win a lot on it but lately that's not the case .. I did quit fishing a few years but damn..
Actually I think to much ffs is what is wrong 😂
It’s crazy how they change and don’t set up where they did before
just curious kyle. what make you prefer a jig over a texas rig craw during this time of year flipping?

Hey Kyle, I'm wanting to buy either the Muse 7'3 M or 7'6 M. Can you give me a rundown of what you throw on both models please? Appreciate it!
I don’t use the 7’6m but the 7’3 I throw weightless worms small topwaters and small jigs

TBH I've just really been wanting to try the new Muse rods. Is there one in the casting line that's your absolute favorite?
It's going to penetrait the cover straight in V's deflect off the cover..,( using that jig)
That’s right
That water got a lil light stain to it looks good
Wow 😬 @7:33 that reel sounds terrible. I’ve always taken a pass on 13Fishing gear because of product reviews , I’m curious to see what Rapala does with it, if they keep it going they have a lot of work to do.
That sound is a loose line loop from the cast before.
I still don’t understand why we ever got in the habit of switching hands after every cast. Have you ever swapped to lefty reels?
So glad my dad started me with them
He’s probably casting that way because he’s facing left towards the bank. When I face right towards the bank I usually cast left. I’m pretty sure all these guys learn to cast every which way for whatever they’re around
