For anyone planning to play this on a road trip, flight etc. where an internet connection is not always going to be available; keep in mind that this game's only online requirement for the single player is to be able to save/load the game. Not a perfect solution I know, but you can mostly play the game offline if you need to.

Cars with turbos tend to lose power far before redline, so race gas is a often, but not always, worthwhile. A lot of players here do not understand sport gas. Sport gas is roughly a 20% boost to your car's power. Its essentially another 50 points to your power to weight score and bumps you up about a class in terms of performance. The rival ai in the club/elite races scale to your car so you will not notice a difference whether you use sport gas there but you will notice a difference against other players and if you simply look at lap times. The rival ai uses a scaling system as opposed to a rubber banding system so that you can use any car in any club it qualifies for and have a similar experience so as not to punish you for using a lesser car but if you have a bad tune on the car, it will be apparent. Its good that they made the N2O more realistic instead of the crappy arcady "boost" many games use where you get massive power bonuses and spend half the race using N2O. I hardly use the racing line anyways other than to help show where the next turn is but the braking distance and lines tend to relate closer to how a maxed out car ends up going through the course so it won't really apply to a slow class 2 car with hardly any mods. Unfortunately the boss races will generally be the easiest races in the clubs. You can't expect a stock car without any tuning at all to be good at drifting, especially on mid grip tires, you have to actually tune your cars in this game for them to be good at racing or drifting and use appropriate tires.
theo im going to give you a warning about the 400z. it shows deluxe so you would assume its free but even with the deluxe edition it costs 250k and doesnt give you the option to buy it or cancel it it just auto buys it for you, and if you go to sell it it only sells for 0. so just a heads up so you dont accidentally spend all your money in the future
I got CarX Street last week, will get TDU SC today... I´m really curious to see the direct comparison and I feel like CarX Street will have its benefits in quite a few areas... The map is beautyful with some really nice diverse roads, from pretty long runs to challenging windy roads ... and it´s clearly inspired by Japan. Even though you can´t enter them, buying houses for parking space is a nice touch. Also love the fact that instead of having to focus on fixing connection issues, they could already drop a couple of balance patches :)
Car X Street is a great call back to NFS Underground 2, Carbon and a bit of Forza Horizon. Old school progressing, driving and overall feel wrapped up in 2018 graphics. A Bargain for nostalgic gamers, even at full price. It does have issues(hard start etc.) but old school games were like that.
The biggest issue at launch was that they still had the economy from the mobile version, but they already released and keep on releasing balance patches for that. Got much better in the past couple of days.
Theo there is the best way to level up, just cruise at a higher speed through all the map( specially in straight highways) and that gets you alot of xp if you dont crash yoy bank all the points yoy get in the top of your screen for xp!

You can actually farm the boss races for the special currency. I've engine swoped too cars in one night of playing. And Civic is actually pretty good once you swope the engine. Love the vids broski.
the Nitrous system in this game is interesting, it does do things, it just doesn't give free speed, it gives you more RPMs, it lets you go 1000rpms or so over redline so if you're at the top of a gear you can get even more top speed out of that.

I think this game is genuinely worth trying on a wheel. It feels great on my Fanatec setup! The controller feel is definitely weird. On a wheel it feels very natural with very little tuning.
I love (but sometimes get pissed with) the fact that CarX have a lot of NPCs and the other drivers are always trying to take you off the races, remember me the old games in hard difficulty, where it was almost impossible to beat the CPU if you didn't drive really well
what they are doing is, the offline mode isn't offline at all. you still get connected with random players in a lobby but without being able to ram them or see the name above them. they still real player on the map tho and you can use the chat to talk to them. the traffic is not synced for both clients. bcs of that I got to meet new players even in the "offline" mode.
CarX Street suffers from what I call the Starfield effect. When you're near or in the city, FPS could go as low as 58, but if you stay on the highway away from the city or in the mountains, it runs120fps plus all day. Way better than testdrive. Carx Street plans to add race tracks and cops in the future.

It sucks that nobody’s able to connect to test drive. I’ve been playing it every day since it’s come out with borderline no issues been able to races logged on every time successfully. I’ve even been joining up with my friends and just driving around and doing races. I don’t understand why I have absolutely no problems and everybody else has a bunch of problems.
The price for some of the parts in this game are ridiculous. Early and mid game it's pretty good but late game 20grand for a SINGLE thing starts adding up
@@hellohellopleasehelp lots of money early on kills progression imo. Eventually you'll get enough, but I think endgame builds should feel like they're endgame at least at first.
I have close to four Million without mods and have three maxed out Cars not even played all the clubs. Shure, i cant max out every car in the game with that 4 Mill, but i dont even want to. Progression is EASY but still rewarding if you actually play the game.
@@spaceman112211 I do agree, I think that games with an economy "kind of" like that of NFS Heat for example (im refering mostly to the price of parts), where endgame pieces take more than a couple races to attain are good; things like those do help maintain the obtention of currency engaging. Where it gets a bit out of hand is once that process becomes incredibly tedious specially with the prices of some of the items once you hit late game, huge emphasis on those that require gold, which are immensely harder to get your hands on. I don't think that all prices need to be completely revamped, however the spike in price should definitely be addressed, specially those things that are available as soon as you start the game (stuff like interior customization and stuff) that you'd expect for most players to be able to buy them without going bankrupt off of a couple of things. Guess where I'm going is they should just adjust prices to have less of a spike, while obviously not turning it into forza.
Put the MK7 Fiesta in and I'll snag it. Being able to have some fun with a digital 300whp Fiesta is a lot easier on the wallet than filling my tank twice a weekend lol.
You are actually getting money by free driving around the map. The more points you earn without breaking a combo, the more money you get. On average, you might get 2-3K on a full tank. ( more than the fuel value for the full tank ). Enjoy !
even on mobile, this is a good racing game. honestly in the mood to play nfs 2015 or midnight club la remastered but dont got the money for a console so this will do just perfectly until then . the ai has some issues though
you know what? i dont know if it is implemented, but i really want something like a random generator of races because, after a while, you get tired of grinding on the same races.
My Cpt. Jack version of CarX Street seems to run just fine without Steam or internet. Just happely chucks along without it, I play it for the single player content anyway... This game saved me from even thinking about buying TDU:SC :)
So regarding optimisation on this game, I play it at 1080p high settings on my gtx 1650ti laptop, but limited to 30fps because this game`s optimisation (or lack there of) means that I get alot of lag spikes and stuttering at a 60fps limit, regardless of my settings (even though I can see well over 60 fps if I uncap at medium). I`ve also tried the game on my ROG Ally, and at 15w I can run high settings as well, but at 720p (and RSR), and 30fps. This is less than ideal, to be sure, but atleast on the Ally`s screen I don`t notice much of a difference in the resolution, and I always found that 30fps is less noticable on a small screen as well, so if this means I can run the game on high (because the game looks much worse, particularly the draw distance, at lower settings) at 15w, than I`m fine with that. I`m vary interested to see how it runs on other devices like the GPD, because I also think that that`s the type of device that it suits best. Also, I`ve already spent nearly 20 hours in the game and am still enjoying it alot, so I`m going to say that I`ve vary much got my money`s worth, and it is a bargain
You cant diss the civics. I'm at the same level and club as you in the EG Civic. 80% performance upgrades including turbo. Civics are great in this game 😂
I got an audio bug in this game. I have some cars that have no audio when off-throttle. Does anyone knows how to fix or how to prevent this bug? It seems to happen after some visual upgrade I did in my car.
I know it takes time for content to come out. But slot of creators still playing 0.2 content. Game will be o.4 before they play 0.3. They get early access to release launch day for hype. Then are behind on the times
there is a offline mode, only reason you cant play fully without internet is because or auto saving and game saving has to be saved to the cloud and steam cloud. Common sense
I don't think the always connected thing is malicious from CarX. Even the mobile games can be played offline, but it won't save anything until it reconnects to the server which is probably a basic way they protect against progress cheaters with no dedicated hard and fast anticheat

I have interest in CarX and I wonder if the devs will give it more love. Because if it does then I think I'll get it over Forza and Crew Motorfest (if it ever comes to Steam)
I brought the game on release daze but couldn’t play it because I‘ve moved in my fiest one Apartment and had no Internet yet🥲
So I had to wait an entire week till I could first start the Game. BUT, so I avoided the ingame money balancing issues at launch😂
With your performance dropping I found putting my max frame rate in game higher than I can achieve stops any performance drops or stutters
You have to let your car drift in a circular shape to level up quickly 14:15
i think they need to add MORE Engine Swaps such as K24, S92, H22 and such
The M3 is not whiny enough yet!
The game is not fully offline because you need to connect to WiFi for your account to login but after that you can just go offline but any progress you do in offline won’t be saved
Blackpanthaa !!! I've some good and bad news for need for speed mobile >
Good : me and my friend are waiting for you to do a live stream on need for speed mobile . So come and play with us at 5 p.m (European timer)
Bad news : there won't be a European version of need for speed mobile
(The rest of bad news) because when I've participated a year ago on the very first beta test , it was in English but EA gave up on this project and gave the rest to Tencent Games / Timi (Chinese developers) .. That's why you see 3 developer logos when you open nfs mobile
And EA knew that everyone can access to the Chinese version of need for speed mobile
For me the performance is pretty decent. Getting around 45-55 FPS on max. Settings with an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 and a GTX 1060, paired with 16GB of RAM.
I´m on a 1080p system with an AMD 5800X and an RX 6600, runs smoothly maxed out. What more can I ask for? :)
Early and mid game it's pretty good but late game 20grand for a SINGLE thing starts adding up
But in late game you get 20k for a single race =/
A whole race for a steering wheel and nothing else ain't that good either
Guess where I'm going is they should just adjust prices to have less of a spike, while obviously not turning it into forza.
sport gas bumps up your rpm a bit and your top speed is about 20kmh faster.
I’ve already beat all the clubs I can get 100k in less than an hour doing just elite races
you know what? i dont know if it is implemented, but i really want something like a random generator of races because, after a while, you get tired of grinding on the same races.
My Cpt. Jack version of CarX Street seems to run just fine without Steam or internet. Just happely chucks along without it, I play it for the single player content anyway...
This game saved me from even thinking about buying TDU:SC :)
Agreed. You can even play 1.0.2 build fully online still on the Cpt. Jack version. Don't you just love being on PC, brother?
And I was about to buy it... Thanks Theo and everyone mentioning it
So regarding optimisation on this game, I play it at 1080p high settings on my gtx 1650ti laptop, but limited to 30fps because this game`s optimisation (or lack there of) means that I get alot of lag spikes and stuttering at a 60fps limit, regardless of my settings (even though I can see well over 60 fps if I uncap at medium).
The quality of your videos is always top notch! It's a pleasure to watch and learn something new.♀️🔲🏏
Now after the update basic fuel cost way less than fast travel
I instantly clicked as soon as I saw BMW M3 GTR in the thumbnail.
Did you hear that the crew 2 is Getting an offline mode?
You're a bit late he already made a video about it 😂
Playing this on a wheel with high traffic is insane tbh
Tires and fuel investment for boss makes a big difference!!!
Did you know what he know when all known that he know what he know. You know?
dunno. who knows?
You cant diss the civics. I'm at the same level and club as you in the EG Civic. 80% performance upgrades including turbo. Civics are great in this game 😂
At this moment... CarX Street PC is a AAA game compared to the FFF game of TDUSC, till they fix it, if they hadn't killed it already.
i hope they bring this to console as test drive is a tiny bit of let down
1:34 What's wrong with the bottom of your car?
ive been playing test drive from launch and only had maybe 3 server issues. i love the game and im already lvl 40 and just bought a lambo.
I got an audio bug in this game. I have some cars that have no audio when off-throttle.
Does anyone knows how to fix or how to prevent this bug?
It seems to happen after some visual upgrade I did in my car.
I am actually always offline because my Internet type doesn't allow connection with players
Theo not realizing there is 8 bodykits :/
Deliveries you need to do them u get those coins from there and more gold races
You'll be mad when CarX releases the racetracks and stickers.
I know it takes time for content to come out. But slot of creators still playing 0.2 content. Game will be o.4 before they play 0.3. They get early access to release launch day for hype. Then are behind on the times
pushing 200kmh and the cars feel pretty slow it needs more sense of speed tbh
there is a offline mode, only reason you cant play fully without internet is because or auto saving and game saving has to be saved to the cloud and steam cloud. Common sense
I don't think the always connected thing is malicious from CarX. Even the mobile games can be played offline, but it won't save anything until it reconnects to the server which is probably a basic way they protect against progress cheaters with no dedicated hard and fast anticheat
rip no offline
