Those two octave arpeggios that Geoff was singing in different chords is one of the most technically impressive things I've ever heard a bass singer do. This whole video is amazing, but that part stands out to me because he does it so effortlessly that it sounds easy.
The bald guy is Eli. Pronounced like jelly w/out the J. Cesar is the one with the full beard and mustache. And if you want to hear Geoff really show off his range, look for his solo cover of Jack’s Lament from the Nightmare Before Christmas.
I like Voiceplay for many many reasons. Having said that I especially like they maintain individuality within a group; highlight each individual talent and maintain cohesiveness as a group (team). No egos - you can see that they enjoy what they are doing, Their clarity and performance ethics rock. Great reactions. As you rewatch any video the observer will notice new nuances missed the first time. Nothing they do is accidental it is all part of the whole. Costumes; background; clothes, make up. etc.
Also Layne is the Beatboxer, and while I have watched this video reviewed by countless others I didn’t notice Geoff came in with the hammer AND a skull in his hands
One of y favourites, even though I don't play Skyrim. . The bald tenor is Eli (pronounced as ellie). Omar is the one with the baby face and the angel voice. :)
This was my first introduction to Voiceplay 1½ years ago. I first found Geoff Castellucci. 2 weeks later found out he was bass for Voiceplay. A month later I found out Layne Stein (beatboxer) and former member Tony Wakim owned Pattycake Productions. Where Voiceplay and Geoff Castellucci film most of their videos. I joined all their Patreons then Pattycake also does original live Disney musicals. Written, directed, produced, everything except audio mixing and makeup by them. My favorites.... Bump In The Night. Villains Haunted Mansion. Villains Lair series. But they have a bunch more awesome videos. Villains Lair centers around the Disney villains working together to get back at those that "wronged" them. Season 1 Episode 1 What Comes Around Goes Around... was their first video in 2016.
I am so happy you did this one! VoicePlay is something special, all right. I love them. They just put their all, and 100% of it, into everything they take on. Makes each song and video a real experience. Great reaction!
re: Omar Cardona. He was a finalist on The Voice in 2022. The Voice judge, John Legend said something like: "if you need someone to sing that, just give it to Omar. " He's a studio singer and actor. His brother, E J, also a tenor, has sung with Voctave, Jordan Fisher, Voiceplay, and many others. Omar is 1 yr. younger and is slimmer.
Yes, #VoicePlay is such an amazing ensemble. Their vocal talent, their arrangements, visuals, editing and production are unbelievably great and it's all done by a dedicated independent group. effort.
Cesar is the Dunmer. Eli is the Breton mage (the bald dude) 😉 And of course Geoff is the Nord warrior, Omar the Bosmer, and the Jarl in fur coat is Layne the beatboxer 😁
VoicePlay #TheatreKidsOfACapella. Geoff comes in that low and carries a skull in his hand. Poor Cesar is wearing 20lbs of real chainmail and had to lay on the floor between takes. Geoff said he thought he went a little overboard with the costuming. The effect put on the FUS RO DAH dragon shout was a nice touch.
I am very old and NOT a gamer, but this is absolutely glorious! The closed captions gave the name of the language when they switched, They are fantastic!! Try their Boy Bands in Minutes. You will love it. Trust me.
Imagine if someone created a skyrim mod that placed Voiceplay as the bards in inns. Hearing this version of Dragonborn Comes in the inns would be so cool!
Now for extra fun check a German medieval metal band called Saltatio Mortis and i suggest 2 Skyrim related songs, first of The Dragonborn Comes and then the one they wrote collaborating with Bethesda for Elder Scrolls Online called I Pray to the Hunter
Oh man, I logged so many hours on that PC game. 🤓 VoicePlay sings it better than the lady in the game. I always thought her voice was too high to do the song justice. (And where am I now? Playing Elder Scrolls online...in Skyrim.) 😆

I know it impressed The Charismatic Voice, and since she's an opera singer, that's saying something!

Fun fact. Cesar is wearing a twenty pound REAL chainmail shirt.
Eli (pronounced El-lee) is the bald, high tenor. (He and Omar both are high tenors.)
Also Layne is the Beatboxer, and while I have watched this video reviewed by countless others I didn’t notice Geoff came in with the hammer AND a skull in his hands
Just gorgeous. I do recommend VoicePlay's Halo - watch it all and you will learn some from when they were teens.

Their genre range, harmonies and theatrical commitment is second to none. Never get bored listening to their creations! 🕊

Geoff's character is a lie. He's a dragon lol.

Effin goosebumps every time... And that's just at the very beginning of the song lol.
Now you should check out The Halo Theme ft. Scott Porter. It's amazing.
I actually already did that one check it out in my acapella playlist
Love this video. Geoff’s deep voice makes me shiver! Their costumes are amazing & they sing so well together. Thanks.

I'd love to see a play through of Skyrim. I hadn't tried the game before I saw this cover, now I love the game! Enjoyed the reaction!
Eli! His name is Eli!
You know Geoff, Cesar had the ears and the beard, Omar had the ears, Eli (pronounced elly), the Bald one, and Layne, the 'insane' beatboxer...>^^
I think I might have identified which one of them is the Dragonborn 💀
Did you catch the Easter egg? Those scales in the middle Geoffe does are the midi music from the original NES Final Fantasy game.
Geoff couldn't join in on the "fus-ro-dah" because the studio's insurance wouldn't cover it.

Left to right
Geoff Cesar Omar Eli (prononce elee) and Layne
Do you still agree with the commenter that said VoicePlay can’t do what Home Free does? Just curious 😅
Unrelenting Force.
