Very interesting lesson ..though I’m not a finger picker at all i definitely see many similarities ..keep my pick closest to the strings as possible for more accuracy and speed..cheers
That's a very nice guitar you have there. Great summary! To mention for others, I had many side noises when doing this on normal tension strings. So it might help to put on high tension strings on the guitar. The amplitudes are not as big as by using softer strings and the sound becomes cleaner. Also, the position of the right hand, closer to the bridge can improve clarity and speed. The vibration of the string is less.
I'm very glad this video has turned out interesting for the viewers. Please let me know what subject might be interesting to continue this into a series
Hi! Thank u so much for this educational video... still i try hard to develope this tecqnich but it's so difficult! Maybe if u could break down the exercizes from 2 finger picado and then later 3 would be easier... if it is possible to make 2 different videos for each and please be more slow and truly truly focusing on a dayly routine wich can bring a person to that level... thank u... sorry for asking,! Humble learner...
No brother, sorry. But it should be easy to see on the screen plus áudio. Plus u get to see the fingering used. I spent my life learning music from just recordings, ir vídeos. You really dont need the tabs. They are a crutch you would be better off without
I dont believe in minimum. The more the better, and the more focus you put the more you get out of your time. I would just say, practice for as long as it is pleasurable. Thats when your brain is really at optimum learning condition.
Thanks for the feedback bro! Due to covid-19 I just started offering online lessons. The rates are very affordable due to currency exchange. Might you be interested or know anyone?
Wow man this is brilliant... You've earned yourself another subscriber to add to a growing number of people like myself grateful for your effort and the information you give. Thanks a million ton boss👍 Just want to ask you brother whether the three note per string scale is the same as the one propagated by a classical guitarist named matt palmer?? Or is this your own invention?? And if so then surely you need more credit than is due to you. You are simply amazing👍
Hello brother! I do know Matt Palmer and appreciate his work. The three note per string scale is neither mine or his, but it is a rather convenient and natural way to lay the scales on the neck due to the nature of the instrument in which the strings are layed in intervals of fourths, so naturally one can play three notes on a string and then move to the fourth on the next string. I learned this way back at about age thirteen when studying stuff from Satriani, Malmsteen and Vai on the electric guitar
@@FelipeCoelhoGuitar Ofcourse my guitar master. The content of your channel are really helpful and great. O your HYBRID technique is one which I will surely practice once the fast ami scales are mastered(Though I am not so sure whether I will be able to play as fast as you do😢) By the way brother just one request. Kindly make a video dedicated to the SWEEPING technique if you have the time. Your three note per string scale video is a great post don't get me wrong but being a myself a moron in fast scales I find it difficult to grasp the idea you have presented in the above mentioned video. Right now I am working on Joaquin Turina Sonata op 61 and I get stuck in the fast running scales 😕 If you could do me just this one favour bro, which is to clarify on the SWEEPING technique, I shall be very grateful indeed🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@FelipeCoelhoGuitarThese days whenever I relate to my friends regarding ami scales they readily refer to matt palmer as if he pioneered it (which once upon a time I also thought the same🙄) but research shows that it had existed way before. Thanks for the wake up call🙏🙏But seriously brother I have to say you deserve more recognition and acclaim for the things you have done. At least you should have more subscribers from the guitar community for the quality uploads. I certainly will do my part in sharing your channel within my guitar circle for sure. Keep up the good work bro. We all appreciate your hard work👍👍👍
Thank you so much man! I had not seen your answer until now. Sure I can make a video on sweep but it is simple. Simply repeat the use of the same finger when moving up to the adjancent string above, so you get two notes in just one movement. Do you get the idea?

thanks. why not use the pinky instead of the pointing finger...so the last 3...and for two, use middle and ring. this is more in line with finger length, and palm shape? thanks
Very good tutorial. The only video I’ve ever seen anyone talking about the importance of bending the M finger. The one thing I have always struggled with are my nails catching on the string. My nails tend to hook on the left side of the nail. I have tried everything, and honestly do not know what the solution is, because my M nail really catches on the strings. There’s some days where it catches less. It’s frustrating, because I cannot build up the picado speed I know I’m fully capable of. I keep my nails short. Maybe they need to be longer on the edges? Any advice?

This three-finger part is so interesting. I'm realizing (finally, in my 3rd year of studying flamenco, here in Spain) that I have some sort of anatomical weaknesses or mis-muscular-use when doing i-m-i-m- (or m-i-m-i-) that is, 2-finger picados that mean I end up with a really sore right elbow .... The 3-finger technique may be part of the answer. .... We'll see .....

Great input and explained in a comfortable manner, thanks a lot! I appreciate it :)
Thanks for sharing that knowledge! - ¡Gracias por compartir ese conocimiento!
Very interesting lesson ..though I’m not a finger picker at all i definitely see many similarities ..keep my pick closest to the strings as possible for more accuracy and speed..cheers
Thank you Transparent brother! Be welcome to check the recentemente series on bebop, as well as the video performances in the channel
@@FelipeCoelhoGuitar thanks..yeah np 👍
That's a very nice guitar you have there. Great summary!
To mention for others, I had many side noises when doing this on normal tension strings. So it might help to put on high tension strings on the guitar. The amplitudes are not as big as by using softer strings and the sound becomes cleaner. Also, the position of the right hand, closer to the bridge can improve clarity and speed. The vibration of the string is less.
Cara, que aula excelente!🤍
Valeu amigo!
Very useful tips and explaned very well ! Thanks a lot!🍀👍
Thank you so much,i learn a lot from this Video, this bring me on a new level by my guitar playing
@@evalu9069 Thanks u for the feedback!

Double arpeggio
Called a what’s app number for you. Listed in one of your tutorials. Seems strange. Please reply Felipe Obrigado
Fantastic insight into your process...
Thanks so much!!!!!!
Great thanks! Any tips for the left hand?
Fantastic!
Great video and nice tips. Do you know Kema Baliardo? He is an excellent flamenco guitarist
Yeah I do!
Nice instructions, are there any tabs of the things that you demonstrate?
No brother, sorry. But it should be easy to see on the screen plus áudio. Plus u get to see the fingering used.
I spent my life learning music from just recordings, ir vídeos. You really dont need the tabs. They are a crutch you would be better off without
straight gold. thanks fam
Thank you so much bro
Brilliant Lesson thanks 🙏
thanks to you
Amazing. Got the best advice to develop the picado technique. What should be the minimum time to practice this each day?
I dont believe in minimum. The more the better, and the more focus you put the more you get out of your time. I would just say, practice for as long as it is pleasurable. Thats when your brain is really at optimum learning condition.
Thanks for the feedback bro!

Your video is a great help. Thank you!
sure man, let me know if you have any questions
Love it. Thank you so much
Awsome class ! I will use this in my next songs :)
Looking forward for your tremolo and arpeggio sweet picking technique
Wow man this is brilliant... You've earned yourself another subscriber to add to a growing number of people like myself grateful for your effort and the information you give. Thanks a million ton boss👍
Just want to ask you brother whether the three note per string scale is the same as the one propagated by a classical guitarist named matt palmer?? Or is this your own invention?? And if so then surely you need more credit than is due to you. You are simply amazing👍
Hello brother! I do know Matt Palmer and appreciate his work. The three note per string scale is neither mine or his, but it is a rather convenient and natural way to lay the scales on the neck due to the nature of the instrument in which the strings are layed in intervals of fourths, so naturally one can play three notes on a string and then move to the fourth on the next string. I learned this way back at about age thirteen when studying stuff from Satriani, Malmsteen and Vai on the electric guitar
I hope you get to watch/hear some of the music in the channel!
@@FelipeCoelhoGuitar Ofcourse my guitar master. The content of your channel are really helpful and great. O your HYBRID technique is one which I will surely practice once the fast ami scales are mastered(Though I am not so sure whether I will be able to play as fast as you do😢)
By the way brother just one request.
Hello brother, great playing and considerations.
What is your approach about the controlled flexion of the tip joint of the fingers of the right hand while doing apoyando?
I belive all joints of the right hand must be engaged in a balanced and natural way. I never gave any attention specifically to the tip joint
Definitely deserve more subs. You have mine
thank you from the south of England.
Thanks for the feedback bro!

Very interesting lesson. Only few guitarists were(are) able to play a-m-i pattern. The best was Aleksey Zimakov.
Hey Simon, the continuation of that lesson, "Secrets of Speed II - Drills" was just uploaded today to the channel. Take a look"
@@FelipeCoelhoGuitar thanks!
Very informative. Thank you Felipe.
You are a monster...lol love it.. put a warning on your video's about causing depression. Muy bien !!!
gracias Daniel!! take a look at.the orchestral section within the channel, let me know if you like the original works!
This is very hard!
Excuse me! 7 strings! Just learned that…now I want!
Yeah man, in Brazil most guitarists use the 7 nowadays. Its just so much better specially to play solo
Fantastic player!
Super aula.
Thank you
Very good explaining
thanks. why not use the pinky instead of the pointing finger...so the last 3...and for two, use middle and ring. this is more in line with finger length, and palm shape? thanks
Good question. You should try. I think because finger one is stronger and more independent than pinky
@@FelipeCoelhoGuitar I DO IT AND I LOVE IT. IT GIVE ME VERY GOOD RESULTS🧡🧡🙏🙏
Can i do this on a western guitar ?
What is a western guitar?
@@FelipeCoelhoGuitar a steel string guitar. Thanks for your answer.
Great lesson
Thanks for watching. There ia a continuation to this called "Secrets of Speed II" with a few more exercises and insights
Any advice?
I file under the nail to fix that
@@alinazang6651 file under the nail, but what else do you do? My nails still catch.
Shorten the nails, properly angle the nail, learn to prepare finger for the next note, practice (really) slowly at first for accuracy of attack
Olá Felipe você tem curso de técnica para violão ? Como eu posso adquirir ?
Salve Pedro! Sim tenho o curso Secrets of Brazilian Guitar e World Music Guitar, ambos na plataforma hotmart.com . Ambos falam sobre técnica além de ritmos, harmonia, linguagem e repertório
Congratulations.
An interesting and clear explanation.
Greetings from Antwerp, Belgium.
P.S.: Do you have experience with Andalusian Guitars? May I learn your standpoint?
Hello Johnny, I did have a flamenco guitar called Alhambra, it was good. The flamenco guitars tend to provide a fast attack/response and a nice crisp sound
@@FelipeCoelhoGuitar Thanks for your answer.
My question was ambiguous, sorry for that, I meant the company " Andalusian Guitars", based in Malaga, and promoted by Ruben Diaz e.a..
Sounds strange, so how's it going now?
Thanks. This was super helpful.
