One of my favorite episodes. This is the core of Michael Scott, a heart of gold, but the mind of a child.
He is a bad person.
Can we all appreciate the detail of the school bell ringing? The break of tension and that split second of hope and relief in Michaels brain, and - if we're honest- in our brains, only to be confronted with the harsh reality: it's a double period.

This episode as a whole is always difficult to get through on the rewatch, but Pam confronting Michael over Scott's Tots is low-key one of my favorite moments in the entire series. By this point, everyone in the office has learned how to begrudgingly tolerate Michael's absurdities, but Pam was super firm on how lying to children about their futures was officially over the line and absolutely unforgivable. Michael even tried to pull one of his classic moves and deflect blame or downplay the severity of his foible and Pam saw that coming a mile away and just did not let up on letting him know how truly terrible this was. Underrated moment in the series, but just don't ask me to finish the episode beyond that scene 🤣
I come back to this every time I make a huge mistake in life, knowing that no matter what I do or fail to do, nothing will ever be this horribly awful.
I mean, if some nut came to your school in 2nd grade and promised to pay over a million dollars for 30 kids's tuition you think the school or the parents or SOMEONE would have asked for this money to be stored in a trust account and to have annual updates on it...apparently NOBODY did that. Why
@@ferideeryilmazz you clearly haven't watched The Office
I have watched the entire series four times. I have never made it all the way through this episode
This hurts even more knowing that Michael is always craving companionship and validation
that could have gone one of two ways, but i never expected them to get upset
I love that they always give this subtle characterization to Michael, that even though he is an idiot, he loves people and is genuinely curious about them, pays attention and remembers things that are important to them.
When he sees the girl at 1:42 in this video, he remembers her name and says "where is your saxophone", even though he hasn't seen her in years.
When Angela's cat dies, he goes "oh no, Sprinkles?". He is the only one who knew and remembered the names of her many cats.
In a later season, he gives a client a gift basket and tells him to make sure one of his kids doesn't eat a certain candy bar, because he is allergic to nuts or something like that.
These subtle but genius little details is what makes this show legendary. Incredible characterization and nuance.
Don’t forget Michael bring the only person from the office to come to her art show specifically to see her art. And offering her his chunky after the hug
I mean Kevin remembers Angela’s cats, just not by name but by description
And how much he wants to eat them.
but its funny how mike thinks a person can only be what he remembers or a stereotype like the girl does not need a sax in school and he feels she has to always have it just cause its what he remembers about her last..so when he sees her without it its the first thing he notices
@@therealvampirecat2807 But you can't eat cats, Kevin.
To be fair he does say "sparkles" instead of "sprinkles" 😂
this is even worse than toby touching pam’s leg
@@dogoo5867 yes
That's child play in front of this
This is worse than Toby being on the show
But isnt worst that the dinner party of michael and jan...
