- With Beta testing for The War Within being right around the corner, I wanted to spend some time going over my opinion of the Class and Spec tree reworks that the Brewmaster Monk received as well as discuss the Hero Talents.

Hey dude. Love the videos, watched for a while. You mention chi wave vs chi burst a few times and also spoke about the extra button for both.
Chi wave is now a passive. You skimmed over it on the class tree. Thought it was worth noting. I did the same thing until I was studying the tree more in depth. ❤
Totally forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder!
hands down you do the best brm content right now, way to go!
Thank you!
@@Sha_IRL I miss my monk, been maining my bear and bdk for 2 seasons now. Hard to bring a monk to raid when it just basically makes the healers work harder to keep him up versus the others
Yeah brewmaster already feels fun to play. I think these changes make it even better 🤞 Thanks for your coverage.
Thank you, Greate video
((Wrote/edited as I watched))
Things I'd love to see tested:
-If Ox Stance works off of damage taken BEFORE stagger is considered.
-Same with Bounce Back
-If it staggers all damage you take AFTER the hit, or if it consumes a charge to stagger THAT hit. Because it reads as "that hit".
If it's "that hit" then the lower our health is, the harder we get to kill as we stagger more damage more often the lower our health gets. Combo that with Elixer of Determination and we get knocked down to below 40% and suddenly get deceptively hard to kill. Especially if you are stacking stagger cleansing abilities.
Few things from your video:
Tranquil Spirit does indeed give 5% base+ 5% per orb absorbed. It does that on live as well (I run it). If you combo it with quick sip and Fluidity of Motion you are cleansing, baseline, 5% stagger every 5 seconds, and 5% every 3 seconds. Which without healing orbs works out to be roughly 35% stagger purification every 15 seconds (in a perfect world). Add in a purifying brew every 15ish seconds to keep one rolling and you're looking at shrugging off 85% of your overall staggered damage every 15ish seconds. So it's actually worth while running both IMO.
Also: with Fluidity in Motion and Blackout Combo, you are able to Blackout combo every keg smash, every fire breath, and every celestial brew for a full time 10% DR, 5 seconds off all of your brews every 8 seconds (with zero haste value), and a minimum of 3 stacks of Purified Chi on each Celestial brew (two purifies+Blackout Combo assuming you never get past low stagger for some reason).
New Chi-Wave won't take a talent point as it becomes a passive that triggers off of your RSK/Vivify. Chi-blast still would though.
And yeah, shadopan just looks.... bad.
Below 35% health they are assuming you have a big heal coming in so its buffed to get you back up.
August Blessing sounds very good if you're playing with Rshaman.
Just this season i easily crit tanks for 1M+ heal i'm sure it must help when you're in that "'red" stagger deficit ... now to what extent ... ^^"
I'm more interested to know who will get the credit for that extra healing ahah
So sad that resonant fists is removed. Good at establishing threat and looked so cool on your character...
also scalding brew would benefit from our new 2/4 set in season 1
thoughts on using special delivery over RJW since we lost resonant fists which was the main reason you used rjw
Around 25 minutes you imply we wouldn't take EK if we take both points of High Tolerance. Is that really the case? That would lock us out of Stormstout's Last Keg. I don't see a world in raid or M+ where we drop both, or even either of these talents.
My concern is the typical weak stagger scaling early on in the expansion. High Tolerance is strong to make up for the lack of agility. In essence this wasn't necessarily a prediction, but I want to address concerns I have with competing talents. Without Bonedust Brew, Exploding Keg is going to feel weaker and Stormstouts Last Keg is generally only good in AoE since there are better Single Target talents. I'm eager to test all of these on Beta.
@@Sha_IRL Playing without Stormstout's would feel so bad.... we're already GCD locked, being able to prioritize hitting Blackout Kick for Blackout Combo before hitting Keg for the extra brew CDR without losing casts of Keg Smash is just sooooo nice....
Especially because I just end up BOK+breath of fire+BOK+Keg smash for the 10% DR and 5 seconds off brews.
When are we going to finally get breath of fire as a combo skill with kick smash?
How’s Brew for someone picking up tanking in the new expansion?
With these changes, might be a little easier than previous iterations but still one of the more complicated tanks to play.
I would expect Elixir of Determination to use the same definition of 'recently purified' as old Improved Niuzao used to use for stomp damage? So that was amount purified in last 6 seconds?
I would imagine it would be the same. I'm extremely exited for that talent honestly
@@Sha_IRL yeah, it's definitely the strongest new addition for us, could easily end up feeling like a game changer. I am surprised you are quite down on the tree tho, honestly it feels so nice to have some points spare for once I'm ok that there isn't a lot of excitement in the bottom half!
I think you're maybe a little harsh on Ox Stance - 25% less direct damage getting through on any dangerous hit (either cos its big or cos you're low and the 60% threshold is thus low too) feels good to me - its a mini DR (as long as you can purify!) which always kicks in passively at a good time and refreshes pretty fast. Not as good as Elixir or anything, but I think worth a point esp early xpac when we feel squishier. Anytime I'm taking 2 pts in HT, I'm taking 1 here as well I think
Also, BOB gives both celestial charges back on Beta, so that's another big win for Master of Harmony and a reason to prefer it over BnW
For Shado-Pan, can't you just work out how long it takes to spend the requisite energy based off your energy regen? Sure it pools up between pools but because energy regenerates at a set rate, that rate is also how fast you spend it. I'm not as experienced with Brew as I am with Windwalker though, so maybe you spend a lot of time at 100 energy not spending it?
Asking before I finish watching:
Are we still pressing RJW every 6 sec or is it removed/changed? This is a big deal imo.
You shouldn't need to with resonating fists being removed...this means special delivery can be played. However, if threat is bad, we may need it for threat.
Main reason it was a lock for all of DF was resonating fists applied to each tick, which made its dps nutty.
didnt we have a clash like skill in mop?
We had it in dragonflight as well just never took it its on right from zen med currently
Rant off the bat classic sha
I'm surprised Blizzard didn't give you Alpha since you're a pretty big content creator. Have you tried applying?
I definitely applied. Not really sure on the politics behind it honestly. I was surprised as well but that's okay. Beta is still great 👍
Shado Pan looks really weird and underpowered, sad to see an iconic "theme" wasted like that. Great content though!
