In Tibet, Dechen has been reviving the weaving of yak wool for the past ten years in the Tibetan highlands of Amdo, on the borders of western China. Dechen’s workshop, located at 3,200 meters above sea level, employs more than a hundred craftsmen, most of them former nomads. These fabrics, of exceptional quality, are worn from Beijing to Paris.
