Have to disagree with you on that. The dogs are in so they deserve it more than Carlton. The dogs fought for the eight to the end of the home and away season and Carlton didn't fight quite hard enough . Hard but true.
Over 80,000 fans were on the edge of their seats, particularly in the final quarter. It was a matter of which team wanted the win more. In the first half, it was Collingwood. In the third quarter, it was Carlton. In the fourth quarter, it was Collingwood and the Blues will definitely rue their inaccuracy in that last quarter as it clearly cost them a spot in the finals. Carlton fans and players will be haunted and heartbroken by this and would be wondering how far they would've gone had they win and made it. 2 goals and 5 behinds for Curnow may have been one of the factors. Collingwood fans know their team can only slip up once (since they play Geelong in a Qualifying Final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground), otherwise they wouldn't be able to afford a slip up. As for Carlton, 8-2 now seems like a very distant memory as a win or draw would've gotten them in. It doesn’t get much better than this in the current game. Do or die for Carlton. Massive crowd and wicked atmosphere. Roller coaster old school contest by arch rivals. It’s quite ridiculous the way Pies have surged in the last term to win by f-all in so many games this season. Heart stopping stuff.
it’s wild they kept carlton goalless after they just kicked 8 in the third
Took my daughter for her first derby and it was a memorable game; we guaranteed top 4 AND sent Carlton on holidays! People were having meltdowns during the last 4 minutes to the game!
bloody brilliant. I wanted to go and had a chance to get a ticket 2 weeks ago, left it too late and missed out.
@@SilentHotdog28 mate, I was thinking about that 2 weeks ago and I nearly missed out myself.
Our seats? row MM, the LAST one at the top of the MCG! 5 minutes I would have missed that one as well
I hope she grows up to marry a Essendon supporter.
@@nicky9589 that is a possibility!
Nice to see Ginni get in form again
Tough for Carlton.
Kozzie last week and now 1 point today.
Go Pies!!.
I don’t wanna be that guy I’ll admit this game we lost generally but We would’ve made finals if it wasn’t for injuries without them we would’ve had at least 1 extra win. Anyways full respect to Collingwood and I know their our rivals but they’ve been interesting this year so I wish them good luck in the finals
Respect mate! Very gracious of you... this has been an enjoyable year for the pies fans ( I am one of them) and we are huge rivals but the reality is that Carlton will be a force for sure in the next while. Injuries play such a huge (underrated role) in the success or failure of teams.
both teams have some young talent, both teams have a promising future.
Onya pluggerboy, we'll meet in big games in the near future and maybe even play some finals against each other.
You are that guy , you lost
So enjoyable, What an effort by the lads.
Best game of the season yet! Love to see Carlton outta the 8
no u
I'm actually proud of how Carlton played this season regardless of the season outcome. We played with courage and really gave it to some teams such as Sydney, Collingwood and Melbourne. All we can do is fight back harder next season and hopefully claim a top 8 spot. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way.
Carltons best footy is definitely top 8 worthy
I take a less than favourable view. I remember early on they were lucky to get away with wins. I feel the club got ahead of itself
@@rhettpeter83 youre not wrong they need to get better at closing games, sometimes they get lucky and hang on (like the port game) and sometimes they dont like yesterday
I think we just panic, so Voss needs to work the players mentally rather than train them physically
Your right top 8
Magpies are a team of destiny I tell you. Can beat anyone left in the competition. Geelong will learn this in two weeks.
Go pies flagpies 2023
This was one of the best games of the year so far
To be honest best game I’ve watched it was insane
5:53 The guy with the Collingwood scarf looks like Bobby Hill Collingwood
It does indeed
@@JCStorm76 lol
One of the closest games for Collingwood for the year
The closest, one point bro lol
One point win - but surely the sweetest with all that was on the line.
Can watch this all day 😂
I assume this is the 1st time that Jack Silvagni will experience playing in front of over 88,000 crowd between the arch rivals Blues and the Pies as his Grandfather and his Father have done in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's.
Up the pies what a game
I don't think this is over yet. I heard Carlton have got a QC lined up to take this result to the High Court.
Best game of the season.
What a HEART STOPPER. Great game to bad there had to be a winner and a LOSER. 😀👏👍
It doesn’t get much better than this in the current game. Do or die for Carlton. Massive crowd and wicked atmosphere. Roller coaster old school contest by arch rivals. A come from behind victory by the close game specialist’s. The last goal- cool head from Pendlebury, clever body work from Ginivan as Elliot breaks on to the open ball then streaks away and slots it through from the pocket on the run. Love the crowd noise as Elliot breaks then they start cheering before the balls gone through because they knew it was home. Great game. Carlton will come back stronger from this and Collingwood will be hard to beat again in 2023
Best moment in the history of a great rivalry
Greg Norman to Carlton: *”First Time?”*
As a Bulldog supporter, I’m deeply thankful that Collingwood was the our saviour of not only making the top 4, but also putting the Doggies in the 8’ fours consecutive years in a row
This was the best game ever
Collingwood the comeback kings as always 🤣
How good to see te blues miss out 9n the 8
I believe Collingwood will be the Western Bulldogs of 2016. I would hate to be an opposition side playing the Pies in the finals, this team in 2022 does not give up or go away.
@Soussy good point but the dogs had a very similar list to the pies. Very young players, a few veterans and a couple of superstars. Anything’s possible. Dogs got to last years granny from 5th and having said that the two interstate finals in wa and Brisbane are very winnable
Even though I am a tiges fans I feel bad for the blues.
I love how it is on the trending page
This felt like a final.
Not much of AFL fan but man this was a great game . I feel for coach vossy. Blues had the game but blew away. Their fans might not able to sleep for few night or week.
That kick by Johnson at 2:37 like man that's the kick kids should practice
Beayden maynard 6:11 sooo good
Great result, couldn’t have been better.
I have absolutely no love for Collingwood , but knocking Carlton off was a feast for my eyes.
Bulldog fan ?
As a Tigers fan torn whether to like this/not this vid. As in give it a like whats for sure though, definitely without a doubt- is that it was a classic. Definitely was an absolute classic
I WOULD 8-2 BE CARLTON RIGHT NOW. COLLLLLIIIINNNNGGGGGWWWWOOOOODDDDDDDDD
lol...nice
9th
2:40 what a kick.. sheesh..
