Pies pressure was huge. Forced Blues to go backwards and make so many errors. Very good win. Daicos winning kick was like a dagger through the heart. Congrats to Lachie Sullivan - had a noticeable impact when he came on. Not only joined the first kick-first goal club, but had the highest score involvements of the match with 8.

Fun hearing these stories, fans living abroad. When Collingwood played Melbourne in the semi last year I listened to the game in Petra, Jordan. Year before when we lost to Sydney I listened in Costa Brava, Spain. 2018 I awoke in Nairobi, Kenya to news of the sad defeat in the GF.....

Carlton played a predictable, negative brand for most of the night
So many movements forward consisted of banging it on the boot to a Collingwood dominated forward line. Not enough whole-of -team run and carry, too many Carlton players got the ball in their backline to centre of ground and acted like they had plenty of time and got run down. Part of this is because their teammates didn't provide enough fast moving options and part of this is the subliminal messaging that 'banging it on the boot' style of football sends to your teammates that, 'we don't really believe we can and will find a way through the Collingwood defense: - so they go into their shell, the subconscious negativity (how ever subtle or small) breeds itself into existence and that's all it takes for a sharp positive team like Collingwood to beat you.
Had Collingwood been more accurate, the game would have been decided much earlier.
