Favorite lens is the Leica R Elmarit 28mm f/2.8 in the 30xxx-32xxx range on full frame. Something about the look and that focal length for handheld shooting 👌🏼

Lol, mate, I’ve been shooting with Leicas for a longggg time. Buying your own set is different than renting it from a rental comp. I agree with Kadian, he aint the only filmmaker out there, haha, and I was certainly not inspired by him to purchase a set. The Leicas are worldwide known ;-).

Have the 28 2.8, 35 2.8, 50 Summicron, 90 and 135. Now buying a set of cheap Minolta MD in the same range just to see the difference. Minolta collaborated for a period with Leica.

Without boring you with a lengthy reply, if money was no issue, then I preferred the Leicas just for the tactile feel then anything else. But the value for money these Minoltas provide, is incredible. Lets put it this way, I bought additional 2 50mm F2, a 28mm F2.8 and a 85mm f2 just in case.
Since you asked, my favourite lens is the Lomo anamorphic 50mm. But from the Leica R´s it would be the 35mm and 19mm :). Great personal insight on your Leica´s. Enjoyed it.
just a heads up when you take out that ball to de-click the aperture, you will have aperture drifting. There are additional (pain in the butt) steps to complete the de-clicking process

Love these lenses! I remember seeing a video a little while ago where a guy picked up a set for around $7k, now they're selling for $20k (in my area at least). Just got the 6k pro so definitely looking into some nice vintage glass besides my set of FDs

Really looking forward to the video of the lenses! My new and now favorite lens is the Canon 16-35 f4, its not the fastest but is has IS and found it more important than a faster lens and it looks great. Its a shame there is no faster lens in that range with IS and is sharp.
For now, my favorite lens is the Sigma 18-35, I have on Lumix GH5 and one Bmpcc4K and the lens in my heart is the Sigma 18-35, but i want test other lens.

I'm currently having problems with my adapter from Amazon, but my Leitax Mount should arrive tomorrow...
Stephan, Thanks a lot. On certain 35's there is a little rim of metal you have to dremmel away. It's a sketchy business, but has to be done. A Leitax mount wont make a difference since this piece of metal is part of the lens tube.

This is super funny, I've been talking lenses the whole day, even with my wife although she doesn't understand anything about it...., just to talk to myself and put things in perspective! Awesome vide as always, man. I somehow like what I've seen by Meike lenses. Now, they make MFT lenses, but they just released EF mounts, so I started to dream... However, they open at 2.1 and that turned me off a bit, just because the aforementioned Sigma 18-35 mm opens at 1.8, right? and the zoom is internal etc...., so I don't know man, but lenses, lenses and lenses 😂... Watching your video however, I see the creamy and sweetness of the famous Leica ones and I don't know what to do! It gave me anxiety this video. If I would unscrew any lense, I am pretty sure I wont be able to redone everything, I would lose a screw, it won´t fit the same way it was before or everyting would crush in front of my eyes... jisus hahahaha

The 24 is a beast! Don’t listen to what others say. Beautiful color rendition and amazing character :-). Weird flaring tho, but I tend to like it

My 90mm is 24*** but the rest is around 30***, they match amazing! Just make sure to test em out

I can imagine. I think when it would be a 2.8, it would be so big containing an IS motor haha

I paid 2500 euros for the full set! Which is a fairly good price for such a complete and VERY clean set

The sigmas are great. And the 50-100 is an amazing extension of the 18/35. Characters also comes in lighting and composition ;-)
