Thank you for the video, we just bought a motorhome a lot like yours, one thing I wanted to mention I've change oil for the last 50 years and I've never used a wrench to tighten up the oil filter hopefully you don't have a hard time taking that off. I've always been taught that if you should tighten it up as tight as you can with your hand, that's plenty. Different Strokes for different folks

Yo you never want to put on the oil filter with a wrench it's way to tight. Only put it on by hand and only hand tight after you put a little oil on the seal and threads

Another advice from hand tightening the filter, I always pour oil into the filter to prime it up..

@@Myksgarage the least I could do! The cheapest place around here that would change the oil for me was over $100 just to change the oil, and that was before paying for oil and filter! When I saw that filter hanging down underneath and easy to get to...I almost cried :)

all good except the filter only tighten to snug plus 1/4 turn. As tight as you have it will make it a real pain when it's time for a change.

@@Myksgarage You're absolutely right Myk! I have a 2010 E350 Sunseeker. You have to put those filters pretty tight to keep them from weeping! Ford made the mounting surface way too smooth on that oil cooler surface. The micro-finish should of been a bit rougher to bite into the gasket! Nice Vid!

Re “hand tight” vs. “wrench tight”, people, please follow the instructions. I use Mobil 1 oil and filters and the filter says tighten until you feel the seal make contact, then give it one full turn. I can’t get a full turn by hand so I reluctantly used a cap wrench; but don’t overtighten.

Hmm, you only did two things wrong.... always fill the new oil filter with oil before you install it... keeps you from dry starting the engine...... (sometimes you can't) and never tighten an oil filter with a filter wrench.... only hand tight... that why your gasket was stuck to the engine.... that's from over tightening the oil filter
