Ok so I've stuck an annotation over the corvettes incorrect label with the correct details.... Sorry, my bad! That'll teach me not to rush to get it uploaded.
+DoktorJoint Eh? where do you think the wiki got the dimensions!! :) Their dimensions for the anaconda match mine, as do the corvette. The corvette is bigger than the conda. The wiki lists dimensions. but only appears to say it has a smaller jump range than the conda as its twice as heavy.
+Mat Recardo Would you be willing to share where you got the ship models? Thanks, I'm really into Elite dangerous and want to 3D print a Corvette and a Clipper.
Well I, personally, think you did a great job. The format is simple yet elegant. I find myself going back to this video every few months. I hope that you continue to release updated videos as new ships are released.
Do you think you can make another one? But this time have the camera position at at human high and looking up. Probably the only way to have a real sense of scale. Great video.
oculus rift Amd R9 390 and amd FX 8320 I have searched alot on reddit for a solution and most people say that if you got R9 series, you might as well give up. A bit annoying, because its unused (oculus)
Nice video, good to see all the ships in there. If I had one criticism it would just be that I preferred the style of the older video that had all the ships in a ring so that you could also compare the largest to the smallest easier.
If you keep the size of the reference dummy always the same size i think it would be more impressive, reducing the dummy make big ships look tiny tiny. And By the way; Amazing job there!!!!
+Mike Luedcke all ships looks bigger than i expected! When you are in you small cockpit you don't think you carry with you a monster of steel! Take the exemple of the Lakon T7, look it's cockpit and then his size... This feeling is probably due to the giant aspect of the space, everythings are bigger than us... and we only see our cockpit.
+Ox King 6,600,000. Assuming one banana is 120 g, there can be 8.333 bananas in a kg. One metric tonne is 1000 kg, so 8.3333 * 1000 = 8,333.3333. The Cutter can hold a maximum of 792 t, so 792 * 8,333.3333 = 6,600,000. If that isn't enough I'm sure you could cram at least a few thousand more in the cabin with you.
+Nomae The Jester I think you mean the Cutter can hold 792t. The Clipper can hold up to 248t. Since he asked for the Cutter, and you provided the specs for the Cutter, I'm betting it was just a mix up, and you typed Clipper by mistake, yes?
The Chatty Commenter To get the ships you can just capture the DirectX draw commands from the loading screen. The program he used to scale them and compile them however, I don't really know.
Did you take the files from the game or did you made all the ships one by one? Or maybe you found them on internet? Can you explain us how you did that? Great video! I was waiting for it and it's here, now! Thank you!
+Mat Recardo But you has extracted it, right? Share it with people. I think nobody will make himself profit on it. I Just want to have some real plastic Elite ship at home.
firstly you missed the hunter (imperial fighter), f63 condor (federal fighter), farragut class battle cruiser (federal capital ship) and the majestic class interdictor ( imperial capital ship) Secondly it says imperial cutter for the federal corvette
Firstly, I guess you didn't read the video description at all. Secondly, there's an annotation over the corvettes dimensions showing the correct details.
i dont think it can be extracted the same way. i think you need to pocess the ship and use it when you do it. same things for the smaller fighter or the interdictor
As far as I know, when deployable fighters are added it'll just be the very small ships, like the Condor and Imp Fighter (which are currently only in CQC). Maybe they'll allow for us to have a sidewinder/eagle for the deployable fighters, but I doubt it.
all this is not actually true. when you are in the cockpit you can tell how small things really are. In ASP Explorer it looks like the cockpit is 3.5-4 m high, when in the game you can clearly see that this is not the case
+Mititelu Radu If you are not playing with VR, you are not getting a true scale of the ships. Turn the camera around in any cockpit and look for a door behind you. i.ytimg.com/vi/_K1t91EO2g0/maxresdefault.jpg . The asp explorer cockpit is two floors. It has a downstairs. Go take a look from outside.
Ok so I've stuck an annotation over the corvettes incorrect label with the correct details.... Sorry, my bad! That'll teach me not to rush to get it uploaded.
+Mat Recardo on the wiki they say corvette is smaller than anaconda... WTF? Who's right? elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Federal_Corvette

The two fly-bys at the end were my fav. Superb work as usual, my word the time that would have taken, impressive!
Beautiful, it's nice to see well modelled ships without textures and still able to play at 60fps with a maximum settings with :)
Finally the update! Great!! :-D ...and quite a collection we already have in-game! :)
I was really looking forward to this! Thanks for the effort once again.
No matter how many times I see this stuff, I still forget that the sidewinder is the size of a small house.
Or that the Eagle and iEagle are the size of a Boeing 737.
+Tanall Holy shit. never thought about that, wow...
+Tanall the cobras maybe but sure as hell. Not the eagles. That's just wishful thinking
+HeyGuy4321
B737-200 28.35m wingspan, 28.65m length, 11.23m height, max weight 58t
Eagle Mk2 29.7m wingspan, 31.2m length, 7.1m height, max weight 50t
Do you think you can make another one?
But this time have the camera position at at human high and looking up.
Probably the only way to have a real sense of scale.
Great video.
It is hard to get the sense of scale so I just try to imahine stacking the people models in the ship to get a sense.
+WinnyJ1 Get in an SRV with a VR headset and drive up to a conda, taht gives you a sense of scale.
Warning, you might be verry impressed.
Irony is that i got VR headset but so far i have been unable to make it work with AMD.
WinnyJ1 Which VR headset, which GPU?
Maybe i can help you.
oculus rift
Amd R9 390 and amd FX 8320
I have searched alot on reddit for a solution and most people say that if you got R9 series, you might as well give up.
A bit annoying, because its unused (oculus)
Thank you for updating this video!
Nice video, good to see all the ships in there. If I had one criticism it would just be that I preferred the style of the older video that had all the ships in a ring so that you could also compare the largest to the smallest easier.
Fantastic overview, great work !!
Amazing, great work!
The banana"for scale" killed me. Hilarious
Great video! Puts things into perspective.
Awesome stuff, a Must-Watch for Elite fans! :)
Elite ships are beautiful! Nice vid!
Very nice, you should use the models for an VR application if possible, that would be mindblowing
Amazing video! Thanks a lot :)
A well put together video good sir
Excellent video! Thank you very much.
The anaconda is basically as big as a small aircraft carrier
I still boost mine through the mail slot every time
Thank you for the banana for scale. I exactly know how large the ships are.
I want the Majestic Interdictor too in there 😤. Anyway, great work Cmdr! O7
+F99 They'd have to make it playable to add that.
+F99
Here's a Majestic with an Imperial Courier for scale - i.imgur.com/H2bIDyx.png
I'll try to take a similar shot with a Clipper tonight...
+Corrigendum Awesome! I had that moment to with my Clipper imgur.com/ADAxWTn
Fantastic video, well done
If you keep the size of the reference dummy always the same size i think it would be more impressive, reducing the dummy make big ships look tiny tiny.
And By the way; Amazing job there!!!!
What.... Not stations or capital ships added..... Tut....
Great work..... It's what people asked for ....
Cmdr since dice o7
Man just called a federal corvette an imperial cutter
That is really nice work sir o7
Excellent works. Thanks. :)
The music is glorious!
Nice! The Asp Is a lot bigger than I was expecting.
The character model in the asp feels way too large. Looks too large from outside too.
Like the music choice.
awesome video, thank you so much!
Now someone has to calculate how many Bananas would fit into a Cutter...
+Nomae The Jester +1 for doing it :D
+Nomae The Jester I think you mean the Cutter can hold 792t. The Clipper can hold up to 248t. Since he asked for the Cutter, and you provided the specs for the Cutter, I'm betting it was just a mix up, and you typed Clipper by mistake, yes?
Max Ryan Oh, yeah, that. Editing now.
+Nomae The Jester so totally gonna cram my cockpit with a buttload of bananas
Nice work!
Awesome! Where did you get the models? I'd love to print me a cobra keychain
When we can walk around the ships the shipyard should be reworked so you walk around and inside and then purchase it
they are actually planning to Get that into the game :)
Now comes the real question: How many bananas fit into a Cutter?
Great work! :)
Fantastic job!! What program did you use to animate this?
You mislabeled the Federal Corvette as the Imperial Cutter, and thus listed the Imperial Cutter Twice.
Top keks
The question on everybody's mind is : which station sells the banana?
Great work!!
Not pictured: Farragut and Majestic class capital ships, which are about the length of that entire row of ships.
banana for scale, most important measurement
Bravo! Awesome video
Great job! Is there a way to get the 3D data for the ships? I'd like to 3D-print mine. :-)
I love the video! :-) Any chance you could do one where the ships are all to scale with each other next?
I expected it to zoom in on banana again at the end...
Nicely done
Nice timing!
could you share the model or the way to export it ? really want to have a look
This is really cool. I'm not sure if this is possible, but can you do this with stations and capital ships? I would love to see the scale of those.
What program did you use to extract and build the models? Thanks!
The Chatty Commenter To get the ships you can just capture the DirectX draw commands from the loading screen. The program he used to scale them and compile them however, I don't really know.
Apologies, could you expand on the direct x draw commands and how to use them to gather ship models
I'd like to see the docking slot in a future version of this
It's about 2 inches on either side bigger than the type 9
Fix Fed.Corvette name and everything will be fine :)
Nice comparision!
Did you take the files from the game or did you made all the ships one by one? Or maybe you found them on internet? Can you explain us how you did that?
Great video! I was waiting for it and it's here, now! Thank you!
I was really hoping for it to end back on the banana with a splat sound. I am disappoint.
Ahhhhh what's the name of the music?
He called the corvette clipper lol
Capital shippps D:.. anyway, and then there was 2.2. and the imperial fight and condors, forgot about those
I'd love them too but as they aren't main game playable, I cannot rip them. I got half of an imp fighter and condor out of CQC but nothing usable.
will you redo it after the next update when the fighters and beluga liner are added to the main game?
that was.. AWESOME
I can't tell how big things are could you put in a Banana for s... oooooh!
Do you have a D/L link for those models? I might be able to fix the textures~
+ArraySix Afraid not. The textures aren't ripped and the UV map is stripped from the model anyway too so its a hell of a lot of rework.
Mat Recardo With references, anything is possible
Glad owner of my Python ;)
Brilliant great video.
Has anyone noticed that it says imperial cutter for the federal Corvette?
+Colton Little Yes, its mentioned in the comments below and theres a YT annotation covering it up with the correct info.
This frame rate just cured all the cancer
Song name?
Can you make one that has the capital class ships and different stations in it too?
The stations would be so big a human model would be too small to see
+Peadar Donnelly I know, it would still be cool to see their scale compared to other things in the game.
Right? Maybe an Imperial Cutter with a human model underneath it for size comparison to the stations
Outstanding!!!!!
Where I can download these 3D models to print it on 3D printer?
+GR_emlin Nobody has released them as far as I know. There's a few of us that have figured out the extraction process though.
+Mat Recardo But you has extracted it, right? Share it with people. I think nobody will make himself profit on it. I Just want to have some real plastic Elite ship at home.
+GR_emlin FDEV themselves have talked about doing 3D plastic ships.
+Mat Recardo Still, you could share the models, at least via PM or email... I'd love to do me some 3d animations.
I can't believe how huge some of these are, it's bulding sized, are you sure of the measurements ?
Well done
firstly you missed the hunter (imperial fighter), f63 condor (federal fighter), farragut class battle cruiser (federal capital ship) and the majestic class interdictor ( imperial capital ship)
Secondly it says imperial cutter for the federal corvette
Firstly, I guess you didn't read the video description at all.
Secondly, there's an annotation over the corvettes dimensions showing the correct details.
Should include the Farragut for the grand finale!
i dont think it can be extracted the same way. i think you need to pocess the ship and use it when you do it. same things for the smaller fighter or the interdictor
+Nic0maK correct. Only playable main game ships. I have parts of the CQC fighters but not a complete model of each.
How did you get access to the models??
+Stuart Murray extracted from the game.
This would be awesome for making short films with!
+Stuart Murray Indeed. Sadly they are untextured. Hence these very clinical looking scale videos.
Thanks for the banana !
For a better frame of reference, how tall is the human model you used? I sorta figure it's about 6 feet (~1.8 meters).
+FriendlyNecromorph Exactly 6ft!
+Mat Recardo Perfect, thanks!
Capital ship?
we need this models!! =))
Thank you!
are these all ships we can drive?
+tom ugobarf Yes, All these are ships you can fly.
So...many...cheese wedges!
So that's an imaginary banana at the beginning then?
+Will Stephenson Space Banana. Its what you get if you chisel open a UA.
so..... um....
ho- how exactly is a vulture going to fit inside an anaconda..? :3
It's not I suppose
As far as I know, when deployable fighters are added it'll just be the very small ships, like the Condor and Imp Fighter (which are currently only in CQC). Maybe they'll allow for us to have a sidewinder/eagle for the deployable fighters, but I doubt it.
I plan on doing another animation when they do!! :)
It isn't :3
Bravo!
This is lewd.
BRAVO!!!
lol you have imperial cutter twice instead of Federal Corvette
+St Nicholas Check the youtube annotation. it covers it.
yeah i was watching on my Note 5
all this is not actually true. when you are in the cockpit you can tell how small things really are. In ASP Explorer it looks like the cockpit is 3.5-4 m high, when in the game you can clearly see that this is not the case

What game?
+darkage5 Elite Dangerous. Its the first thing that appears in the video! :)
Sorry never heard of the game. I seriously must have missed the title, i was mesmerized by the modelling though.
Python 87m in length - medium ship, T7 81m - ... large ship. Where is logic in here? Oh wait, its FD then everything is fine. :)
you forgot capitals!!!!! how could you????
+lupahole They aren't playable.
no shit
+lupahole Hence why there weren't included. Heck im not even sure if you could rip those models out.
wow
holy shit :D
and dis to
yes disis god job but........................................................wy a banana?
+Jacques Deladurantaye Banana is the universal scale unit. :)
o
Fantastic!
