Isn't it obvious? Men can't possibly be fans of a "boy band" because only girls like BTS because they are good looking and not because of their actual music. I'm being sarcastic by the way. I hate the stereotype that only girls or young kids like BTS when their fandom is so diverse. I don't know why this guy would watch a BTS video like this without knowing anything about them or their music.

You are right to say it’s funnier if you are a fan (not a female since they do have a lot of male fans 😅) since you’ll know who is who and what their personalities are. The two most playful in this video are Jin and Jungkook, the youngest and the oldest which makes their dynamic funnier considering Korean culture about age difference. It’s probably better to start with their music than videos like these to get to know BTS. All the members can write and produce music. They dance, sing and rap and they do all three live in their performances. They are goofy and very comfortable with each other that comes from living together in the same house for decade. Even now when they each have their own properties and are millionaires., they still have an apartment unit that they share where they all have their own rooms.

Strange choice of first videos. The reason videos showing them as crack heads play so well is because it is rare for artists to share their personalities like BTS does. Those familiar with their extensive body of original works understand they are some of the most talented musicians in popular music on the planet. They cross many genres often mixing them in single songs. They actually have three world class rappers and four world class vocalists which for an outsider seems virtually implausible. So seeing them in a nonmusical context doesn't seem necessary.
I recommend watching Outro: Tear live at Wembley Stadium or the Mic Drop video to juxtapose against what you just saw. You will recognize BTS music and performance can be totally bad ass. And yet BTS will let you in to their world with almost daily social outreaches showing themselves doing just about anything from light hearted play to enduring real hardships. BTS winds up becoming relatable relatable both as a group and as individuals because other top tier artists don't let you in preferring to have private lives. BTS's story is there for people to see. They actually talk regularly online with fans, sometimes answering questions or playing games. For instance one member out of the blue performed a Karaoke concert of 12 songs at 1 A.M KST in his pajamas a few days ago.
BTS also connects because their work contains deep messaging including criticism of government and social institutions, the psychologies of Karl Jung, complex story telling including suicides and exploration of the butterfly effect, rallying individuals to love themselves, and more. They are scheduled to speak to the UN General Assembly for the third time this coming September.
So in theory you can get hung up on the girls liking them (as girls did for The Beatles or Michael Jackson). Or you can dig in without focusing on that background noise and perhaps open yourself for what will be a surprising ride.

I wouldn’t say this is the best video to react to… it would be funnier/put a smile on your face if you were a fan or knew them better. And no, It wouldn’t be funnier if you were a female. Being a female or not has nothing to do this, I’m not sure if it was a joke but truly it wasn’t something funny. BTS has a ton of Male and female fans of all ages. You could see a lot of male fans doing reaction videos and etc on UA-cam, I could also name a few of mine. It’s fine reacting to these videos first but at least a better video would work. I do recommend watching introductions first. I also didn’t watch the introduction videos until a year later, still lazy to watch it and already learned most things form searching. I mostly learned from google, MV’s, interviews and funny videos. We all start from somewhere. This is my 3rd year with them! Have fun!

I kind of feel like you deserve the confusion here since you decided to react to a fan compilation instead of their music before anything else. 🥴 Also I am not sure how gender plays into finding something funny. I am a guy and find them hilarious, you just do not understand the context nor who they are as people. Of course you will not understand the vast majority of this video lacking that context.
If you truly want to see what they are about and you are not simply looking to get clout off the backs of ARMYs, watch a music video. I recommend Butter, Mic Drop, ON (the Kinetic Manifesto version) and Fire.
Oh and just to let you know, auto captions do not work. The auto translate is even worse. Do not bother with them. If it says auto generated it is not accurate.

This wasn't the best video to watch to introduce yourself to the group 🤣. They're actually amazing performers who can dance, sing and rap, but can also be a bunch of crackheads. Also, one thing you have to note, in South Korea, it's pretty normal for male friends to be very affectionate with each other. They have no personal space, atleast, when they're teenagers. Adults aren't as touchy, but BTS have been together for years now ever since they were teenagers~very young adults, so it's very normal for them to be super close.

You kind of have to be very familiar with the members and their personalities to understand the interactions in this video. As an introduction to the group, this video is not how I would have anyone start out. But at the very least I think you get a tiny sense of how silly, playful, and close they are. They've lived together for over ten years, so are now a big group of brothers who love to mess with and tease each other

*I want to apologize in advance for this long winded comment*
This was an odd choice of video to start reacting to BTS. If you knew the members names, their personalities and the context of the clips in the video, it would have made more sense. To be honest, this particular video wasn’t really funny to begin with. You have to be careful about which compilation videos you choose to watch. So many people on UA-cam make random and cringy BTS videos/compilations just for the views. There are certain accounts that make BTS videos/compilations that are of good quality and are actually funny. If you’re truly interested in getting into BTS, I would start with their music. Once you watch a couple music videos, you can then decide whether or not you want to continue reacting to them. If you do want to continue, I would then watch some of the introduction videos. Videos by account such as The Asian Theory, XCeleste and Ida S., seem to be the most reliable and the most popular.
What I say next I don’t mean any disrespect nor am I accusing you of using BTS for views. However, there are so many UA-cam reactors that react to BTS solely hoping for the views. With that being said, if you’re only looking for UA-cam views/subscribers, I wouldn’t involve BTS. You’ll be chewed up and spit out by their fan base and I’m not exaggerating. However, if you’re genuinely interested in BTS and their music, then their fans will welcome you with open arms which will bring you views/subscribers. When reacting to BTS, all people are asking for and are expecting when watching is respect. You have to keep in mind there are cultural differences between eastern and western countries. There are many cultural differences between the United States (which I’m assuming you’re from - I am also from the US) and South Korea. From what I understand, men in South Korea are typically very close, like brothers and treat each other as such. BTS debuted as a groups since 2013 and were in training together a couple years before that. The youngest member, Jungkook, was around 14-15 years old when joining BTS. Therefore, the older members (who were also young at the time) basically raised Jungkook. In K-Pop it’s common for group members to live with each other, especially during the early years as a group. It helps keep the members close and helps with the overall synergy of the group. To put it simply, the members of BTS are basically brothers who enjoy picking on and teasing each other regardless of where they may be. I’m not sure if you have any siblings or not but if you do, don’t you pick on them any chance you get? Regardless of how old you are? You don’t mess around with your friends or annoy them just to get a reaction out of them? I know I can’t be the only one; my brothers and I still do this to each other. To these day we love to tease each other regardless of us all having our own separate families now. The same goes for my best friends, we love to pick on each other, even though we are now in our thirties. So to call them “7 year olds” is kind of hypocritical (unless what I mentioned above doesn’t apply to you which I doubt that it doesn’t). However, like you said, they look like they are having fun which is all that matters. BTS is basically the definition of chaotic mess. They are like this regardless of where they are which is one reason why they appeal to so many people. They don’t shy away from showing people their mistakes and such.
Another thing I see/hear a lot of reactors comment on or criticize about BTS is the fact that the members wear stage makeup. It surprises me because mostly all people who are in front of a camera wear some sort of stage makeup (Western or Eastern). However, from what I have learned wearing makeup is norm for both men and women in South Korea. It’s not uncommon to see men wearing makeup regularly. I believe there are even male makeup lines. It does amaze me how people are still so bothered by this in 2021. There have been many legendary male artists who wore makeup and/or were more “feminine”; however, people didn’t seem to be triggered by it. Just to name of few of those artists: Freddie Mercury (Queen), etc Michael Jackson, Prince, Elton John, David Bowie, etc.
Anyway, like I said previously, I would start with their music. They have 3 songs that are sung entirely in English (Dynamite, Butter & Permission To Dance). They were featured on a song with Steve Aoki that is entirely in English as well (Waste It On Me). Normally, their songs are in Korean with English sprinkled in (or sometimes Japanese); therefore, make sure to turn on the closed captions when viewing their music videos.
Also, they have been featured on many songs by Western artist such as Lauv (Who), Jason Derulo (Savage Love Remix), Halsey (Suga’s Interlude), Max (Blueberry Eyes), etc. BTS have many songs that have featured Western Artists such as Halsey (Boy With Luv), Lauv (Make It Right), Steve Aoki (Mic Drop Remix), Sia (On Remix), etc.
A few of the members of BTS have also put out solo work (mixtapes). All 3 rappers of BTS (RM, Suga (aka AGUST D) & J-Hope) have put out solo mixtapes along with music videos to the title tracks. I know I’m biased but their solo work is just as amazing as their group work. The remaining members of BTS, the 4 vocalists, Jin, Jimin, V & Jungkook, have hinted about dropping solo mixtapes as well.
BTS are considered to be a K-Pop group but BTS doesn’t confine themselves to one genre of music. They have music that spans over many genres of music, which is one of the reasons why their fan base is so diverse. I do understand your misconception behind thinking that they only have young female fans. In the west, especially the United States, boyband fans were dominated by teenaged girls. However, that is hardly the truth. They do have a lot of young, female fans but they also have a lot of male fans, as well as older fans. Their fan base also spans across races, nationalities and creed. I believe that if you do decide to give BTS a genuine chance, you won’t be disappointed.

they also go by beyond the scene in english but we (the fandom) dont really use it as much. we call them bangtan more often.
bts music talks about mental health, society, social issues, self love etc theyre not just a boy band who only sings about girls. they have some songs like that but its not the majority. and most of the time their songs are gender neutral and about other kinds of love not just romantic love.

The Subway Olympics or Zoom Olympics from The Tonight Show is great too. You don’t need all the context that’s missing from this video to get it. This video has clips from their hilarious variety show RUN BTS, their show Bon Voyage, and some other things that are long episodes with context. They are hilarious people but these compilation videos are for fans that already know their personalities and relationships. The humor is lost without that context.

if someone recommended that video to you that was a very poor choice if you just clicked a random video that was also a very poor choice thing you need to know is most compilation videos suck and its better to just watch their content in full so you get the context there are some channels that do good compilations but its best to know bts first like know their music and their history etc first before doing those type of videos.
they are famous for their music every thing else comes after.
also no they have many male fans and majority of bts fandom are adults not kids. you are also not familiar with korean culture or korean entertainment so you should educate yourself on that first before just jumping in with a western perspective on everything.
example korean men are very touchy they hug hold hands cuddle etc and its completely normal. its not seen as gay or weird. its called skinship actually many asian countries have it.
the noises are often sound effects related to what youre watching but since most of the context wasnt there it didnt make sense to you.
also theyre korean so unless specified otherwise majority of what theyre doing/saying anything cultural or anything in general like if you were to say "is this a japanese game show" if you have that thought always replace it with korean. cause majority of the time its korean culture, korean game show, or related to koreans in some way. unless youre watching their japanese content cause they do make that as well. just always assume korean unless it says otherwise.
anyways please react to this is bts introduction to bts by xceleste and bts vs kpop by bbygang (tbh most of bbygangs videos and xceleste videos on bts and kpop is recommended)
youll get a better understanding of them and kpop in general.

These guys have amazing music with lots of lyrics that talk about mental health issues and self-doubt, but also talk about finding happiness and loving oneself.
And you're right, most of the funny videos made by fans about BTS are made for people who already know them or want to know them and their personalities. I am very confused who the hell suggested you to watch this video😅 Firstly, you should react to the music. But even if you want to start with funny moments this is NOT the video for it.
    Maybe you can watch these-
-BTS being extra AF in america (2018)
    - BTS being extra in talk shows
    - BTS being extra in award shows
Or just watch any of their Run BTS compilations.

BTS isn't just the most popular kpop group, they are the biggest group in the world period. They've had 5 number 1 albums and 5 number 1 songs in the US. They've had 3 fully english songs over the past year called Dynamite, Butter, and Permission To Dance. BTS started formation in 2010 and officially debuted as a group in 2013. There are 7 members (3 rappers and 4 vocalists). The members are Jin age 28 vocalist, Suga age 28 rapper, J-Hope age 27 rapper, RM age 26 group leader and rapper, Jimin age 25 vocalist, V age 25 vocalist, and Jungkook age 23 vocalist. They are more than friends at this point, they consider each other family. BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan in Korean which translates to bulletproof boy scouts in english. BTS just did an autocomplete. Make no mistake BTS fandom has people of all ages, races, nationalities, and genders. BTS recently did an interview called BTS Answer the Web's Most Searched Questions | WIRED on Wired. On it they answer questions people google about them. I don't know why you would react to a video like this not knowing anything about them or their music, but yes you would enjoy it a lot more if you knew more about them. Take it from me who has been a fan of many boy bands over the years (I'm 34), BTS is on another level you just have to be open to it. BTS are very versatile sonically and lyrically. They cover all genres such as hiphop, rnb, pop, edm, latin, neo-soul, and jazz. BTS also discuss important and relatable subject matter in their music such as mental health, self love, loss, societal expectations/injustices, economic inequalities, and so much more.

I can’t understand why your reaction is so funny to me, like, I think it’s the genuine look of confusion idk HAHAHA Is it bad that I would like to see your reaction to the ‘bts are still babies’? Probably. Honestly, I appreciate it when people are actually honest like this, rather than watching an entire video, clearly not enjoying it and saying they did…

Very much recommending you to react to their music : fake love, mic drop, black swan, on, butter, save me,..etc they have 300+ songs, they’ve known for their performances, very meaningful and poetic lyrics, vocals, raps, dancing skills, the kindest and goofy personalities

Do they play BTS on the radio (in US) much? Maybe not as much as other artists but they have been No.1 on Billboard hot 100 for past 10 weeks straight. Not surprised you don’t get them.. doesn’t matter.. cos millions worldwide across cultures and generations absolutely adore them because they are genuine talented and inspiring. They encourage love, positivity and acceptance of diversity. That goofiness is one of the major reasons they are loved for their unapologetic genuine personalities.

Before watching these types of channels I would def look at others only because these are mostly recycled content with cringey backgrounds to avoid copyright. I do hope you check out more of their music and videos (i saw recommendations in the replies under mine) and look at them with an open mind. Boy groups/bands aren't only fun for women, don't let toxic stereotypes hold you back from a world of entertainment and fun content and honestly a fun community. :)

This is a really strange way to get to know BTS. 😂😂
Nevertheless, they are a great group of guys who very much adore one another and are practically like family at this point (its been like a decade). You should check out their music or some intros to the movers before getting into compilations, cuz this stuff is funnier when you KNOW the guys.
    Informational/Documentary type vids:
    - An introduction to the 7 members of BTS (2021 update) by: Ida S

    - Keep in mind, this is an ongoing docu-series highlighting the entirety of BTS' journey, there are 13 chapters out as of now
    - Who is BTS: The seven members of Bangtan (By sugar and spice)
    - This video is a bit outdated (and you dont have to see it if you’ve seen the 2021 one by Ida S)
    Songs to start off with:
    - ON (Kinetic manifesto film)
    - Black Swan
    - Blood Sweat and Tears
    - Fake Love
    - Mic Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)
    - DNA

Hi, thanks for trying them out!
To be honest, it's actually a nice idea to start with BTS's funny videos - they've definitely a bunch of crackheads, and that's one of the nicest things about them. But this is not a very good video to start with - it is without subtitles (and much of the humor does not trasfer well without translation), and it relies heavily on the prior knowledge of the members. It makes a lot of sense that the video was not funny to you, though the comment about the 'females' ... we have a sense of humor, and common sense, you know :)
Recommend trying this video - ua-cam.com/video/31IBM9d2r-E/v-deo.html
Which is from their live streaming for fans and contains subtitles, and is therefore much more entertaining, and even more than that, BUTTER's alternative clip - ua-cam.com/video/YLXfyHsfFz0/v-deo.html
There is also an official MV too, this specific one is just designed to let them do whatever they want to do, and gives a pretty good representation of character.
    have fun!

Them being goofy is like a very good side of them despite being in a band of millions view. You might find it cringe but if you know them it's endearing. Plus, their talents are amazing. Please watch the 7 member of bangtan video. They are amazing.
But, I have to say there are always some man looking at them like they are childish or women-like so on. Little did they know that they are just more caring, passionate and kind than most of the what so called as "manly man". and them being affectionate isn't them being gay or girly. They are just less problematic in relationships. Trust me they loves girls. and they are gentlemen and manly at times too. but sadly... it always the asian men that have that type of wrong stereotypes.

    1. Music videos/songs/albums

    4. Crackhead videos/fan made compilation videos

Wrong choice of video if its your first time. You should watch their music video first. If you are not a fan, you really would not understand any of the content that you just watched. It's not about gender, male or female armys ( that's what we call ourselves as BTS fans, in case you would ask) love them and there is no cringe moment for us watching them teasing or goofing around. As we know how they love and care with each other.
