This frosting recipe is perfect for piping, light, fluffy, rich and delicious. The BEST Chocolate buttercream frosting EVER!
Ingredients:
5 1/2 cups (650g / 1lb 7oz) powdered sugar
2 sticks (225g / 8oz) butter, softened
100g / 3.5oz milk chocolate, melted
5 1/2 tbsp (30g / 1oz) unsweetened cocoa
1 tsp Vanilla essence
1-2 tbsp Whole milk

I totally will follow this chocolate frosting recipe all the time. Instead of whole milk, I tried it with coconut milk. ☺️👍

For Professional Baking in Culinary Arts School, we had to make Swiss, French, and American Buttercreams by hand. For American Buttercream (The type shown here), you can whisk it together in about 10 minutes. Swiss and French, on the otherhand, that'll take about 45 minutes each, and a textbook's worth of cuss words.

I made this recipe and my daughter hates frosting so much ever since she was a kid she's always waits all of the frosting off of every cake and cupcake. Tamera Pugh, I don't think it was too sweet, but I do like sugar. :D It wasn't sickeningly sweet though like some store-bought cupcakes are, it was perfectly light and chocolatey... in my opinion. :)
how many cupcakes were you able to frost with this recipe??
maria lara I didn't do cupcakes, I made a 3 layer 9" round sculpted cake, and there was plenty of frosting between layers as well as some extra. Not much, but some. I think this recipe would easily frost 24 cupcakes if you aren't planning to do an equal cupcake = frosting ratio! 😂 Of course I'm no expert, but I hope this helps!!
