Looking to relocate or make a move in the Northwest Arkansas area. Reach out to me at, 479-319-7229 or Anthony@IGNWA.com, I would to have a conversation how I can best serve you.
Found this video informative. I learned the hard way about the high sales tax, especially on groceries its insane. They apply it to monthly app subscriptions too, hope they put that $$ to road infrastructure. Jesus.
I might make a comment here or there, but it is not my place to say what governments and or state entities should do with public tax dollars. That is not the intended purpose, nor the direction of this UA-cam channel. Thank you for watching
I live in Benton County and my personal property taxes just went up again recently. It’s ridiculous that each time I make an improvement on my property they raise my property taxes. I know that they were trying to get signatures to make an amendment to the Arkansas constitution to eliminate personal property taxes. I don’t see the fairness in paying sales tax when purchasing property but then taxed each and every year based on what the county values the property at. I paid taxes based on their assessment of 400k for 8 years but when I sold the property I only got 265k. Did I get a reimbursement? Not at all…
Correct, every time you make an improvement to your property that requires a permit. A addition, for example, that improves the value of your property to have a higher assessed value. Benton County assesses property every 3 to 5 years. I suppose anything in life could be worse and we can always find some thing that we’re unhappy about. What do you love about living in Benton county?
@@LivinginBentonville now that you ask that…. I honestly can’t think of a thing that I love about it anymore. They’ve tore my old home and all its memories out to put the new Walmart HO. Everything I held near and dear about this county has been destroyed. It seems even the kindness and good nature of people has disappeared. Now it seems it’s a rat race everywhere you turn. Heck people live so close that they’re nearly on top of each other and don’t even know their neighbors names. Our local governments don’t stand for its people anymore but instead cater to the corporations and approve anything they desire with no thought for the people it will effect negatively. I’m a pilot as well as the Walton grandsons and if I were to do half the crap they do in the sky’s over Benton county my ticket would have been yanked ages ago. I’ve even filed complaints with the FAA and not so much as a reprimand. There are regulations as to the altitude a pilot can fly an aircraft over residential areas. Also regulation on altitude of acrobatics but how they get away with it I do not know. I know it seems I’m coming across as a negative Nancy and that is the furthest thing from my desire. The improvements that have been made recreationally are mind blowing as far as bike trails, Art exhibits, and job opportunities. But along with all that it has wiped out our roots in Benton County. The small mom and pop places that gave Benton county its place on the map have been demolished and swept into a sea of forgetfulness. I knew Mr. Sam Walton as a kid. He came to my grandfathers place to quail hunt when I was only knee high to a grasshopper. And from what I remember of the man, I don’t think he would be very thrilled with what his county home has become. I had talked many times with Mr. Hunt when he was still with us and I don’t think he would be too thrilled with what Benton County has become either. There’s a scripture that reads…”seek out the old paths, wherein is the good way”… but in Benton County the old paths have been completely demolished all in the name of progress and it’s simply heartbreaking. I have three older children that have moved off to different areas around the country and I also have three teens advancing towards adulthood in what seems like lightning speed. My wife and I have already decided that when they have flown the nest, her and I will find a new home far away from NWA. A place with more tranquility, less concrete, and a whippoorwill can still be heard.
None of Arkansas taxes in Arkansas are very high with the exception of sales tax. But there are taxes on everything , including the air you breathe. Taxes here are like mosquitoes, they are everywhere. Arkansas even taxes food at grocery stores.
