It is a pity most Indians have lost track of our ancient ways and spirituality. India needs the wisdom of Dalai Lama. If yoga goes west and comes back repackaged to India, so be it. If meditation goes east and comes back through his holiness, so be it. We should absorb it back
India still has many great Yoga and Tantra traditions. Hopefully these great Yogis will choose to spread it not only throughout India, but also the world.
Karthik Gowda the problem is that here in the United States they have stripped down 99% of what Yoga is and only focus on asana's and the body.
Buddhism is Hinduism for export.

Meditation was perfected in Tibet, many cultures practised some kind of meditation throughout history, even before the concept of India. Yoga was already diluted in India itself by the colonial way of thinking. India has no one to blame but themselves. Harsh but true, apologies.

The factor of our life in the Pacific Ocean was always happy regardless for our surroundings were natural. But, developers redesign of nature--changes gave us a different mental images where as naturally the ancient gave us a unity of life and it's adaptable changes. Like our shoreline waves upon our shoreline. I cannot remember being on our beaches in Hawaii without the sense of healing. I believe that is how other's view our shores--happiness. Looking forward to seeing the Dalai Lama in April.
He must be the First Religious leader that actually requested everyone to respect all Religions, Unlike the so called Religious leaders of today who are little short of slashing at each other's throats.
India is the Buddhism ' s originator, Chinese' historical well known Buddhist master went to Idea to exchange the Buddha Scriptures in Tang Dynasty. Dalai Lama is the philosopher of the life. He summaries many philosophies from the Buddhism to practice in life experiences. Just like Chinese I - ching philosophies, they are extremely complicated and intresting, it depends on how do you understand into the complicated theory and how to practice into the reality and the life to benefit to people and societies. Endless studying, endless reserches, endless practice, endless realizing, endless happyness. :)

I've been to Tibet every summer for the past 30 years. It's a great place. They are far more free than the us on the outer, inner and secret levels. Tibetans in Tibet aren't consumed with jealousy and hatred like the ones in India and the West are. You want to see destruction of culture just go see the American Indians. If you want to see preserved Tibetan culture, just go to Tibet. You've got to go to know! Don't believe the propaganda, just follow your heart!
Good karma builds temples, bad karma destroys them. What kind of karma are you creating? Everything is self perfected through the nature of wisdom. May all Tibetans in the West realize this! Everything is perfect just as it is, nothing to add, nothing to take away. May you find the peace of mind free from all animosity, just like the glorious Lotus Born Guru!

Hinduism and bhudhism are same. In Hinduism we also worship lord budha.
yes, Buddhism and Hinduism share many similarities like Samantha practice(single pointed meditation) and Vipassana(analytical meditation).
but there is a big difference in the philosophical view like in Hinduism they believe in the concept of Atma theory and hence believe in GOD or Bhagwan and hence it is a theistic religion. on other hands, Buddhism believes in the concept of Anathema theory and no concept of creator or God hence it is non-theistic religion and believes in the law of karma or law of causality. so Buddhism is all about training our mind and eliminates all our negative emotion.
